With John, all you have to do is tell him what you want to do, and he will make sure that you get to do it! We told him that we wanted to hike, see the Pitons, and do the mud baths. We did all of these, and much more! My husband and I were debating if we should hike the Pitons, but realized that if we did that, we wouldn't have a view of both of the mountains; and it would also take four hours!
The Tet Paul trail was founded by John himself, and he worked hard to create it! Let me just tell you, the views on this trail were just breathtaking! He stops along the drive at different places and he will take your picture, if you want him to. He does the stuff the big tour companies wouldn't do, and he is just a nice man! You also get a taste of the local food.
In addition, it was a private tour so we were able to really get that one on one time that you don't really get with group tours.
My husband is very critical, and he loved the tour. We definitely recommend it.

We booked a private rainforest Tour with John since we like to avoid crowds and be on our own.
Despite we had a very rainy day John took us to a very nice and remote rainforest trail which we had for our own!
Going there he stopped at various locations, took photos of us whenever we wanted and explained us the various trees and fruits of the region, such as Cashew tree, Mango, Coco Tree (my favourite!), Banana Tree and so on.
Since we wanted to see as well a waterfall John took us to a nearby waterfall which was also lovely. After that we had a lunch at a local restaurant which we really liked, hanging out with the locals and geeting a bit away from the "fake" hotel atmosphere which is nothing like the local life!

Also a self made rum punch or other drinks like water or a local Beer where offered during the trip.

John and his driver took us with a fancy SUV from our Hotel and brought us safely back.

We had a perfect time with John and we can strongly recommend him for a unique experience!

Thank you John!

We are a couple from California who sought a tour different from the standard tourist routes. Being photographers, we were interested in photographing birds in the rainforest – this tour sounded just right.
We were met and picked up on time from the dock building and driven to the Millet Bird Sanctuary. It was beautiful, clean and serene with a wonderful cacophony of bird song. Open coconuts were pierced on sticks to attract birds and the trail was well defined. Our friendly guide, John, was knowledgeable of the native plants and their common names. The walk turned out to be a moderate to strenuous hike which we took at our own pace. We would not recommend this tour for bird photographers as most of the birds were very small, finch size, and fleeting. The van, which needed cleaning and repairs, was waiting for us when we completed the hike. A few brief shop stops were added to the tour before returning to the ship.

UNFORTUNATELY, This tour was NOT all that was promised. We never stopped at a “rum distillery to sample twenty different variations of local rum” as stated in the description and confirmed by email. Instead, we were taken to a roadside shack selling overpriced (even for tourist stores) trinkets and bottles of ketchup and such. We were given a small sample of homemade rum punch, served water and fruit - with the option of a beer kept cold in a cooler. The description did not mention an additional $20US ($10 each) entrance fee that we paid at the sanctuary. We did not visit Marigot Bay (also included in the tour's description) but a shop stop that overlooked the bay. Even though our guide was friendly, we would not recommend this tour as it was not what was promised.

We contacted John, a local tour guide, to take us on through the Millet Trail which goes through the rain forest. Since there were 8 of us in a rental vehicles, we arranged to meet him at an intersection on the main road on our way there. In deciding what time to start, John recommended that earlier is better for seeing birds. He was waiting for us on time at 8:00 am at the agreed upon intersection. There were rest rooms at the beginning of the trail and we were given walking sticks which were very useful since the majority of this trail is climbing gravel steps with roots & rocks. John was very knowledgeable about the plants and birds and a very good guide. He did point out a St. Lucian parrot, but unfortunately, it was a young one and had not yet developed the color of an adult. He told us he spent much of his childhood outside and learned about nature from his grandfather. Even though it rained during part of our hike, it didn't seem to bother anyone all that much. We enjoyed our tailgate picnic afterwards & dropped John off on our way home. I don't think I would have attempted to do this hike without a guide and John did an excellent job of leading our group, pointing out features and answering our many questions about life in St. Lucia. I would definitely take another of his tours. Paradise Excursions 758-723-2930.
