“The "drive-in volcano"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2008

Kind of tame compared to Yellowstone, but interesting. Our guide, Selena, was excellent. Prepare to smell like rotten eggs! Selena complained that she and her fellow guides have to hang out because no one else can stand the smell.

The most interesting aspect of this attraction was Gabriel's Hole, the only manmade outgassing. A guide named Gabriel was jumping on the surface to show how pourous it was, and fell in! Fortunately, he survived the experience.

A worthwhile attraction if combined with other sights near Soufriere.

“Pretty Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2007

We had a really nice guide who explained all about the volcano. But really it is a sulpher spring, not what one would think of is a "drive-in volcano" like the signs say. But the best part of this is when you walk back from the springs take a right after you get over the bridge. There's a mineral bath....and if you go into the actual stream, theres warm mud. We actually got to see a woman who covered hereself head to toe in the mud (she looked like Rebecca Romaijn Stamos in X-Men). It was the coolest thing I had ever seen! I would've done it, but I didnt bring my bathing suit!!

“Interesting, not spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2007

The Sulphur Springs is billed as the "World's Only Drive-In Volcano."
There is only a little bit to see here. There are the bubbling, steaming pools which represent the "volcano." There is also the spring itself with long used mineral baths.
There is more than enough to smell here, however. The springs and volcano emit a large amount of sulphur, and the whole place reeks of it.
Geology buffs may love this place. For the rest of us, though, it's a curiosity and about 15 minutes worth of sight seeing.
