Coming from the Northeast winter of 2014 and arriving here was something truly remarkable. From the southern airport to the resort took 40-50 min with an excellent driver named Dave. We turned off the main road and arrived at the reception porch where they welcomed us with a simple fresh non-alcoholic beverage made from a local fruit that was refreshing way to get in the spirit. The staff was helpful and friendly in this oasis of beautiful views, perfect weather and complete relaxation by design. Having just flown in from NYC the tranquility was almost a shocking. The rooms have no TV's to reinforce the notion of relaxation. The Wifi worked well to stay obligatorily connected and the rooms had iPod players for music. Our bungalows had a private perfectly maintained pool (someone came every day to clean). The view from the porch was intoxicating. You could move from lounge chairs, to rocking chairs to hammock to pool and repeat... The rooms were simple, spacious, included a small kitchen and well maintained. The shower was outside in a very private alcove. We left the doors opened at night with almost no bugs and perfect temperatures for sleeping.

The Mango Tree restaurant located on site was one of the best features of the place. Alcee is the manager and takes extraordinary care of all the details, helping even mentor the young servers. True St. Lucia culture and warmth. In front is a beautiful pool (if you get tired of the one in the bungalow) with chairs to lounge and always ready to bring a drink or beer. The breakfast that was included was varied and well prepared. The fresh fruit is both unusual and delicious. All the meals were terrific with the dining area having a perfect view of the Pitons and the harbor.

Sugar Beach, where the shuttle from the facility takes guests, is a beautiful beach embedded within one of St. Lucia's 5 star resorts. Though as a place to stay, I would rather staying at Stonefield Estates.

The one only shortcoming is that the walk into town is not quaint nor is the town itself. It is very much a town where locals are getting by and doing their best. We did walk into town one morning for the farmers market where we were able to purchase great produce for a reasonable price from vendors at the roadside.

Overall I would very very highly recommend Stonefield as a true get away for peace, quiet and relaxation.

Room Tip: The trip to and from the airport is long enough that having a good driver in a nice car is a real pl...

Dear Batch,

Thanks for the amazing review! I understand the feeling of leaving a "cold" place and coming to the tropical paradise of St. Lucia. If one can say this, it is like a most "wonderful shock". It's like moving between two worlds, isn't it?

Yes, our maintenance team works hard to make sure all the private pools are well-kept. The Mango Tree Restaurant, as you have outlined, is one of the great features of the resort. Our Executive Chef, Thierry, is always working diligently to create extraordinary fare that guests will remember well beyond their stay at Stonefield.

Thanks again for taking the time to review our resort!

Best Regards,

Stonefield Management

My boyfriend and I travelled to St. Lucia in December. We were looking for something beautiful and relaxing and different. Did not at all want an "all-inclusive", "resort-y" experience. Stonefield seemed just yet. Our one-bedroom villa overlooking the Pitons was gorgeous. Truly. We really felt like we were on our own. We liked also that it was owned and operated by local St. Lucians. The resort also seemed to have a good reputation among locals which is great. Everyone who worked there was lovely and helpful. We even met up with a couple people who worked there in town. The restaurant use some work. The prices for dinner were very expensive considering the quality of the food and the selection. One night we went to Boucan restaurant just down the road (found in another hotel) for an extremely memorable meal. The food was delicious and the prices exactly matched the quality. We only ate a few nights at Stonefield for this reason.

The resort is very, very quiet. So if that's what you are looking for, that's what you'll get.

All in all a beautiful place.

Elizabeth,

Stonefield is geared toward privacy and relaxation, so I'm happy you were able to find peace here and to leave us a top review.

Since your stay here, we have procured the services of one of the best Executive Chefs in the Caribbean. On your return stay, I would invite you to sample some of Thierry's creative, unique fare. I am sure you won't be disappointed!

Thanks again for the great review.

My wife and I went here on our honeymoon and loved it so much that we went back for our next vacation (and loved it again!) To say that the views are breathtaking is an understatement. You have an unobstructed view of the Petit Piton, and a sweeping view of the ocean. The views are great in every villa, but they were particularly amazing from the first one we stayed in (Jasmine).

The rooms are all private villas, each with its own plunge pool and outdoor shower. I've seen reviews of other hotels in the area that have said that the plunge pools are too cold to swim in, but these have the advantage of being right in the sun and stay relatively warm even at night. And that leads me to my next point: privacy. They design the villas very cleverly so that you have a great view of the piton and ocean but still have complete privacy. We spent most of our days lounging around our pool and porch and could barely ever hear any other sounds.

The staff is very courteous and helpful, and the breakfast and lunch at the Mango Tree restaurant are both excellent. The view from the restaurant is even better than in the rooms, and the pool is beautiful and usually empty as well. We went out for dinners just to change things up, and the staff made taxi reservations for us to drop us off and pick us up every night (not to mention to and from the airport).

The first time we went, the weather was absolutely perfect the entire time. The second time, it rained a little bit, but it would come in and leave so quickly that it didn't really bother us (and seeing the rain come in over the mountain was actually really pretty). The temperature is always between 75 and 85 F, and each room has a very powerful air conditioner as well.

All in all, a spectacular experience without the frills of a larger resort. It honestly feels like you have the whole place to yourself!

Thanks for the review. You have captured the essence of Stonefield: stunning views, clever planning and privacy. The "natural feel" is what makes Stonefield unique and separates us from the typical corporate offerings. Hope to see you back again to further explore our wonderful Estate!

Stonefield Resort and Spa is holiday accommodations that you will truly remember for the rest of your life. My Wife and I spent a week in paradise and we will never forget the wonderful time we had at Stonefield. Our Villa was the Jasmine. It had outstanding views of Petit Piton as well as the Ocean. The staff was wonderful and attended to all our needs and requests. Stonefield was exactly what we were looking for. We did a lot of hiking in the Edmond Reserve, and Gross Piton and found it to be closely situated for these excursions. The Soufriere area has so much to see and do. We thought it was crazy how people would stay in the north and spend so much of their day travelling to the south to see the attractions. If you wish to be adventurous and see nature at its finest then Stonefield is perfect. If you wish to party and dance till the wee hours of the night then this resort is not for you. (Although the Thursday night entertainment was great!!!) One nice improvement that we liked was Wi-Fi at our villa. Nice to relax and send some pictures and emails to family back in the cold and snow! The staff were so very friendly, and courteous. We found the people of Soufriere to be so friendly and warm. At no time did we feel threatened or scared. The Villa that we stayed in was perfect. It’s not marble and gold, but rustic and cozy. The nicest thing we liked about this resort versus more expensive ones was the air conditioned bedroom. Our bedroom was quiet, cool and very comfortable. Something that we appreciated after a long day hiking and exploring. Breakfast is included every morning which is a nice benefit. We ate at the Mango tree every evening, enjoying great food and a quiet romantic atmosphere. (Not the greatest place for kids I might add.) The outdoor showers were private and very nice. When we would arrive back at our villa late in the day the private pool was a great way to cool off and have some fun. The grounds are clean and spectacular, with many exotic plants. We spent one day at Sugar beach and they supplied free transportation there and back. If you are truly a beach person then maybe you should look elsewhere, However my wife and I preferred our own private pool with clean fresh water to the noise, crowds, and sometimes not so clean beaches. We are planning on returning to St. Lucia in the next couple of years and one thing I know that we will be doing is…….returning to Stonefield Resort and Spa.

Room Tip: We stayed at the Jasmine and thought it would be hard to beat! I am sure all the rooms are fabulous...

Hi,

So glad that some Manitobans came down to our resort to enjoy some St. Lucian warmth and peaceful times at Stonefield (I DO know how cold it can be in Manitoba in the winter. Been to Winnipeg, Brandon, Dauphin & Roblin ).

We also think that we have treasure down here in the South of St. Lucia. We like to cater to people such as yourselves who are looking for "rustic elegance", natural experiences, as opposed to a hectic nightlife.

Thanks for your sparkling review. See you back at Stonefield on your next visit!

Cheers.

No conference calls or work emails. Shut down your cell phone and live life here. My girlfriend and I were able to score a very inexpensive flight from NY to St. Lucia no thanks to her amazing online research skills. Got to love her for that! She's the internet's very own Columbo when looking for bargains lol. We stayed four nights and I honestly thought it would take some time to get off the technology kick when we arrived but man was I wrong. No TV and rarely did I check my cell. You have your own private pool which sucks you in on a daily basis. There were plenty of days that we blew off excursions just to lay out in the sun and enjoy the pool and each other. Outdoor shower creates such a unique experience. Showering outside right next to plants or even while it rains. Amazingly relaxing! Breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday at the Mango Tree. Really no need to search for dining anywhere else. We will miss the entire staff! Great conversations with Fazel and we shared some great laughs with Sherryann! Everyone took care of us! You have internet access and EVERYONE has an amazing view! I mean everyone! Each room is strategically positioned for privacy and an amazing view of Petit Piton. You are literally right there!

Bradley,

I think a lot of people are surprised when they see the "real" Stonefield that they are getting EXACTLY what they see online. The pictures don't lie! Honest.

It's great to have a partner who has such adept online research skills. It can make for some unique, fun and spontaneous adventures.

Thanks for the excellent review. We appreciate it.

YES in capital letters, this place is as close to heaven as I can imagine. The views are spectacular with the piton to the south, Caribbean Sea to the West and extremely private villas with you own personal pool, hammock, and don't forget the outdoor shower. This place is so perfect! Their is a lot of great food in the area but a "must try" place in Soufriere is Orlando's, this place is one of the best! This is my first review on trip advisor and it's because this place is so incredible that everyone should try to enjoy paradise like this! If you debating between two places, I say trust this review and trust the staff here at the resort.
It was interesting to see everyone from the north was taking cabs to the Soufriere area because everything is in this area. Location, Location, Location......again this place is in the middle of where you want to be! We don't often travel to a same location but this place has a special place that leaves us feeling positive that we will be back. As for the people of St Lucia, you are some of kindest most sincere people in the world.

Room Tip: Frangipani is one of the rooms that is on the out skirts of the property so very private! Really a...
