My wife and I just returned from our second visit to Anse Chastanet. We were there five years ago. It was all we remembered and more. From the people, the food, the facilities, the diving, the facilities, the beach, and the other activities, everything was first class. We have been to many places in the Caribbean and Anse Chastanet stands apart from them all due largely to its people and food. The staff members constantly exceeded our expectations. We will not wait another five years to return.

They warn you about all of the steps from the beach (there were 147 from the beach to our room) . We walked them an average of five times per day. While it never got very much easier, it did lessen our guilt when eating all of the good food and desserts.

The views of the sea and the Pitons were fantastic.

We would recommend Anse Chastanet completely.

Room Tip: Decide if you want a Piton or valley view. Both are pretty good. The sea is visible from both sides.

Aside from the being on a famous beach this hotel has nothing going for it. Its good if you are a diver. Forget snorkeling because most of the reef is too deep. There are many other better places to snorkel.

The hotel itself is very old and outdated.

Staff are jaded (restaurant and dive shop).

The perfect place to get away from it all. We left a cold and rainy Dublin behind and were welcomed with clear blue skies and warm sun.
Our room had a fantastic view but it did mean there were 200 steps to the beach. This didn't matter as we needed the daily exercise to work off all the amazing food and drink.
The resort is so secluded and the perfect getaway. Attention to detail is good but the outstanding feature was the quality of the food. every meal we ate was excellent and the fish dishes were exceptional.
Can't wait to go back..........

Room Tip: we were in 5B and had views of the pitons from our bed and then the sea from our wrap around terrace...

from the moment we entered the reception area until that dreaded moment we had to leave, this resort was the perfect choice for our 25th wedding anniversary. Superb customer service, impeccably maintained grounds and the food was incredible.........one meal was even better than the next.
Hillside deluxe room is a great choice.
Two things to be aware of there are many stairs to climb and there is no swimming pool.
Also, Purchase the all inclusive three meal plan, because without it, meals are quite expensive.

Room Tip: hillside deluxe was a great choice. No air conditioning , but don't worry, you don't need...

We just spent 9 days at anse chastanet and what a great experience! The service was impeccable and the staff at the hotel were very friendly and always go the extra mile. We had a slight problem but the manager Jonathan, immediately took care of it and went out of his way to make sure the rest of our trip was perfect. We stayed in building 7 and the view was magnificent! We cant wait to go back. This is for couples only, not a family resort. Have dinner at jade mountain while there, the dinner was excellent.
We used a travel agent for this trip. Niiki at tripguy.com. She was a big help and got us a great deal.

Room Tip: Hillside has great views, lots of walking but worth it. Room 15a is very nice but near kitchen so i...

We went to Anse Chastanet for our daughter's wedding and it was one of the most spectacular places we have ever visited. The staff are so friendly and efficient and the food is of a very high standard. We did several options such as guided walks through the forests and whale watching. You can also just relax on the beach!
The deluxe and premium rooms have amazing views over the Pitons and sea. It is best to go all inclusive as this will work out cheaper than paying separately for meals and drinks.
It was a week in paradise, with so many beautiful birds and flowers to go with the stunning views.

When we arrived we were a little disappointed to find our 'beachfront' room was neither directly on the beach nor did it have a sea view. It was on a beautiful garden at the same level as the beach though, so maybe 'beach-level' would have been more honest of the resort...

Anyway, the resort is lovely, loads of wildlife, great food and drink choices and quality.

Lots of steps as people mentioned, but this does give the views people love.

Nearby dive centre I had bad experiences with the equipment quality - bring your own gear or avoid them. This was a shame as the reef is stunning.

Wi-fi was limited to reception annoyingly- for this money would it kill to install a booster or two? And why do I have to sign for every single drink when I am all inclusive?

Great activities, two beaches and a nature forest area mean you don't feel hemmed in.

The resort is best for couples, singles may find the nightlife too quiet.

Staff we're also very helpful and friendly. I would definitely return to Anse Chasternet.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Tranquility, Romance, Adventure: What were Caribbean hotels like when you sat watching the sunset instead of cable TV? You can still find that Classic Caribbean at Anse Chastanet on St. Lucia’s quiet southwestern coast where two magical peaks, the Pitons, leap from the sea and the mountains are covered with luminous greenery.Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy believes passionately in nature. So he created a hotel that makes the foliage and the flowers, the perfumes and the peaks, the sea and the bird song an integral part of your vacation experience. The estate encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. The resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. With such a unique setting as his canvas, Nick Troubetzkoy was inspired to design a one -of-a-kind resort. A dozen rooms are tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and the remainder tip toe up a flower decked hillside, taking advantage of the captivating scenery all around. Anse Chastanet’s ever growing art collection provides a visual feast of its own. There are impressive wooden sculptures and plaques, earthy burlap compositions, painted “sky ceilings” and vibrant acrylic paintings invoking memories of Matisse and Picasso. And while the sensuous seclusion of the rooms provides some guests with the perfect excuse for lolling away the day on the balcony, others head out to partake in the many activities on offer; yoga, snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, sunset sailing, sea kayaking or jungle biking, hiking and bird-watching among the ruins of an 18th century colonial plantation. ... more   less
