Loved the guarded entrance, you have to check in and out. One thing that we especially liked is the way the villas are built. It was a building with six units in it. There were two on each floor with an elevator up the center for the upper levels. Didn't seem like a huge hotel with condos. You could go up and see the view on the upper decks. We had a 2 bedroom villa and our daughter and her family had a 3 bedroom villa next door. Ours was situated perfectly across a little cart path from the beach. It is not your typical island decor. Very beautifully decorated though. Ours were on the ground level so we also had a hot tub on the patio to enjoy, which came in handy since it rained off an on every day. The bedrooms were very large and each had their own bathroom. The master bathroom was really big! There was a safe in the closet. This place was loaded with closets! BIG closets. There was also a half bath off the main hall. That is where the washer/dryer closet was as well. It had a full kitchen, completely stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal except the food. The fridge was huge! The dining room easily could seat 8 people and there was a sitting bar as well. There was a really nice tv in every bedroom and in the living area. The view was spectacular even from the ground floor due to the beautiful landscaping of the property. Looking out the large glass doors that opened a full wall if you wanted to bring the outside in, was like a personal garden. Then looking farther out was a section of the harbor boat slips. The covered patio area was big and open as well, with plenty of room for dining at the table or lounging on the loungers. There was wifi in the unit too which we did not have any trouble with at all and most of the electrical outlets had dual plugs, one for U.S. and one for European. The tvs were typical channels that you would find in the U.S.---not that you spend much time watching! Just a note here they also have DVD players in the units and DVDs that you can check out in the lobby but the choices were slim. Everything on the grounds is situated nicely. There are good walking paths to any part you wish to go. There are two pools and a large heated plunge pool. There is a small dock and a large roped off area at the beach for swimming. There are tons of lounge chairs and umbrellas and little tables that are already set up and are included in the price. There is a pool hut that you can get pool towels, snorkel equipment and even sand toys----you just have to sign them out and return them the same day. They have Hobie Cats, paddle boards and kayaks that are included to use. They also have the huge wave tubes, couches, etc. that you can pay for someone to pull you out on. There is parasailing but there is also a fee for that. The fruit man comes by the beach several times a day on his boat selling all types of fruit. Our daughter bought a bag for $20.00 (U.S.) and it was more than 8 of us could eat. The snorkeling in the roped off area was a pleasant surprise. Even with all of the activity there was still plenty of water life to see. We saw star fish and conchs and octopus just to name a few.
The housekeeping staff was very good. Just a couple of days that they did not leave enough towels. The other reviews that said they had problems with maintenance I can understand. Our A/C worked great the only small problem we had was a light bulb burned out in the master bath. We let housekeeping know and called the front desk, we also went to the front desk and told them and then once again told housekeeping. Nothing was ever done to replace it the week we were there. No big deal at all since we just took one from the other bathroom and changed it out but I can understand the comments about the 'communication' being an issue for getting things taken care of. We have traveled many places around the world and all in all we felt like this place did it right in almost every aspect. Of course you will PAY for that! The other negative is not having any type of grocery store or place to buy even water. We rented a car so made trips to the grocery store (about 10 mins. away) but they are missing the boat here. I don't think many people would rent a car but if you do there is parking right by your room. One other negative is the distance from the airport. It will take you a good 1 1/2 hours to get there, that's without any problems or getting lost! Overall the 4.5 rating is about right on. DO check your bill before you leave. They had switched our daughter's family and our rooms by accident but were quick to make the correction on the spot. Looking at their website I didn't notice anything that isn't what they say it is. We did not eat at the Palm restaurant but it looked really nice. We ate breakfast every morning at the Beach Cafe and it was really good. We were happy to have the omelette chef there, he was great. If you have transportation go to Rodney Bay area, some good restaurants there and some good places to buy those souvenirs! But everything is pretty expensive. Also Pigeon Island is very close to this resort. If you are looking for a good snorkel/diving trip Scuba Steve's is great and inexpensive.

Room Tip: Look at a property map. If you want close access to the beach we were in 603, but there are some units that sit right on the beach--that may get a little noisy.

I'll preface this review by saying we arrived at The Landings after four nights at Anse Chastanet which, location and experience-wise, felt like a world away. We are British but currently live in the USA and it was a little like driving into a very smart Florida condo complex. Excellent in-room Wifi and the washing machine/tumbledryer (washing powder provided) were appreciated, the units were indeed spacious and comfortable but it did feel a little soul-less. That said, the staff were universally cheerier and chattier than in Anse Chastanet and that made a huge difference to us.

The resort is most definitely out on a limb as mentioned in other reviews. We had rented a car for our week's stay in St Lucia mainly to have more independence while at The Landings (used Driveamatic, the St Lucia partner of Sixt, very good experience). This made all the difference being able to pop to the nearby supermarkets, shopping malls and restaurants at will rather than depend on taxis.

We had two meals at the resort (at the Beach Club) but they were probably the most disappointing we had throughout our stay in St Lucia. Again a little bland and soul-less - especially the jerk chicken. If you want jerk chicken, go to the red van opposite the entrance to the Rodney Bay marina (this was on the advice of a local) - my husband, a Jamaican jerk chicken expert, finally was satisfied in his quest to find the real thing. And if visiting the duty-free shops in Rodney Bay, don't forget to bring passport and proof of plane ticket to get your discount.

I went to the Landings Aug 9-16 with 10 friends & my wife. We rented two 3 bdroom villas.
The rooms were very well designed (not the usual Caribbean floral colors), large and included modern furnature, stove, fridge, TV's and ammenities. There is a balcony on the inland marine side that has a heated plunge pool (ensure you ask if the room has that prior to booking!!!) trust me, you want one.

The hotel has its own marina and we rented a boat from a guy who has two boats in the marina. Absolutely wonderful to just jump into a boat from your hotel and have it return to your hotel as well.
Breakfast was great, not contental.. Lunch and Dinner can be pricy but quality is great.

The beach is the best selling point. Given the rooms were excellent, the beach was just a bit better. it's in a protected cove and is always gentle - easy to kayak, paddle board, and any other water sport.
I would definatley return to the Landings as it is now my favorite resort so far.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in block 4 as it is right by the beach, restaurant, and marina. the lobby is a 4 minute walk but everything else is right at your doorsteps. Ensure you get a plunge pool if you can. It's worth it!!!. Bring your own seasoning to cook at least 2 days..and buy food from the supermarket in Gros Islet as soon as you can to keep dinner costs down.

I stayed at the landings in St Lucia in April. Very nice and clean property. The people where very nice. The food was good. The only problem is the service tends to be slow but we didn't care because we were on vacation. We chose the all inclusive meal options which was much cheaper than if we didn't. We had a few problems with check in. Not because of anyone there but our travel agent. The girls at he front desk where awesome. They did everything and more to fix the problems cause by the travel agent. They were very helpful all week. I can't remember their names but hopefully the manger knows who they are. My only negative like many other reviewers is that their is no store on site. They said they are working on it. A store is a short cab ride away. You can go to the supermarket and stock up because the rooms all have kitchens. A few people we talked too, not I our family did that and cooked a few meals in their room. If you use anyone for trips while on the island use Benny Boat Tours. Benny is great and so is his crew Big Terry and Terry .5. Overall great vacation.

The Landings offers beautiful spacious apartments, a gorgeous, clean and calm Caribbean ocean and overall impeccable service. The employees were all warm, friendly and eager to help when necessary. The spa services were very good. The prices were more than fair for the services provided. The restaurant has a rotating menu and different daily specials. This keeps the menu from becoming monotonous. The breakfast buffet is bountiful and the omelette maker is always on duty to make you whatever you like. There is one employee that went above and beyond the call of duty. Her name is Lucia. As I went to inquire about an excursion I mentioned that we went to town with my husband and regretted not buying a hat we had seen as a souvenir. Due to our limited days we could not go buy it. She had the hat located and delivered to the hotel!! That is platinum service at its finest. I only wish the hotel offered a little entertainment in the evenings.
