“A fabulous resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2009

We loved this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, without exception. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, which with two 16 year-olds, was a perfect layout. Ours was beachfront, with two separate patios, just steps from the beach. The beach was never crowded, nor was the pool. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

The location was quiet, at the end of the road just south of the harbour entrance. The night clubs down the road were busy on the weekend, but the hotel was out of hearing range of the music. There is a selection of restaurants a few minutes walk down the road and the food was good. We'd recommend Delirious and Ti Bananne.

One of our highlights was the tour we had with Spencer Ambrose, a private tour operator. His name came up in multiple Trip Advisor reviews, all very positive, so we booked him ahead of time. We had an awesome tour with lots of laughs (and beer) along the way.

Be sure to try the Rainforest Canopy Zipeline Adventure if you like that sort of thing - highly recommended.

All in all, a fabulous vacation - beautiful scenery and beaches, wonderful people, and an excellent hotel!

We stayed at BGBR the end of January/first of February. The staff at this resort were amazing - very kind, pleasant and attentive, especially the High Tide restaurant and housekeeping staff. We had a pool view and enjoyed the sunsets from our balcony. The shuttle works great for getting to the shopping centre and the grocery store for snacks and breakfast things. We walked down to a couple of nearby restaurants and especially enjoyed the Charthouse. The beach was very clean and well looked after. We would definitely return.

How this hotel is not #1 is a mystery to me. Only a couple of years old, great boutique hotel with only around 72 rooms. The rooms are really nice, the staff are wonderful and attentive, it sits on the best beach on the island, and there are a dozen or so restaurants within a 10 min walk. The pool area is beautiful, manicured gardens, extremely well kept grounds and we were taken care of extremely well. Everyone from the gardeners to the managers greet you as you walk about. One of the best hotels in the Caribbean!

With past experiences of tired basic hotel rooms in the Caribbean,we were pleasantly surprised when we reached BGBR. The gardens were beautifully manicured and the rooms were spacious and immaculate. Staff were some of the kindest people I have met any requests were seen to right away but no surprise as the hotel was run mainly by women! We were there for two weeks so did venture out to other restaurants but could not beat the hotel food for quality and value. We left feeling totally relaxed and will be returning for sure.

First time to St Lucia and wanted a hotel that was on the beach with first class facilities _ and we certainly struck gold with the Bay Gardens Beach Resort. The hotel is less than 2 years old and has staff that were most helpful, efficient and extremely friendly which made our short 7 day stay a dream. We were on a B&B basis which was ideal as it gave us the opportunity to visit the many good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel - hence no need to go for the half board options offered by various tour operators. We stayed in a beach front deluxe room which was clean and well appointed _ they also have suites which have an excellent separate cooking and lounge facility. Beach towels are provided. Just one tip ... avoid the 400 block of rooms as they have the worst aspect and look out over the side of the hotel towards the Marina which is basically scrub land ... not good !! The breakfast will keep you going through day and if you can't wait for dinner they offer an excellent snack menu and there is also Spinnakers Beach Bar & Restaurant just next door on the beach. The beach is cleaned every morning and various water sports are available along the beach. Because you're right at the marina end of the beach you tend not to get too many "passers by" which keeps the numbers down _ however the hotel is a stopping off point for a number of cruise lines and passengers spend the day here so the beach can get busy from around 11am until 3pm. During our stay the majority of guests tended to be of the "middle aged" group and not too may children which again was a plus as it provied a quiet atmosphere. Would definitely return to the hotel.

We checked in on Thurs. 3/5/09 and everyone was EXCELLENT!! On the 7th it was my husbands birthday and the staff went beyond the call of duty for us to celebrate his sepcial day. We will be going back and this will be the only place that we stay, with all the nice and friendly people, they made this feel like "Our Home Away From Home"!!!!!!! Our room was great the entire stay was awesome. This is a real review from a real family.

Couldn't have asked for a better hotel to spend 10 nights at. The Staff were friendly and helpful. Our Suite was just amazing - overlooking the beach (paid extra for this but it is worth it). The whole place was clean and tidy. The Manageress was always present, as were all the Heads of Departments if you had any problems (which we didn't). The Hotel food was good and quality of wines etc. was excellent. There was always enough sunbeds around the pool and on the beach, which makes a change!!
There were characters on the beach selling necklaces etc. but a polite "no thank-you" usually worked and after a couple of days they were like your best friends!! Always waving and asking how you were. We had a lovely time.
We hired a car to drive round the Island, and it was worth it. Even though St. Lucia sounds small (27miles x 14), we managed to do over 300 miles in a week on reasonably easy roads. Nothing here goes very fast except a few irresponsible youths (same as everywhere!) - you do have to watch out for the pot holes in the roads though!
Would highly recommend St Lucia and if I came back - I would definately stay here again.
