Well, I travelled to st Lucia with my aunt and initially there was a problem on arrival to the resort as we were told our reservation had been cancelled and we had to stay in the Inn for our 1st night.
HOWEVER the situation was quickly rectified the following day thanks to the manager Cherly who assured us that we would have a room which in fact was upgraded to a beach front room.
From that moment onwards we couldn't stop smiling. The room was amazing (a home from home) with a fantastic view. Always clean and very spacious.
As for the staff, they were great. I'd like to say thank you to Cherly, Jackie, Lester and all the other staff members who made us both feel extremely welcome!
This is my 2nd time in st Lucia and it was the best holiday that i could have asked for. Mostly due to our stay at the resort. Great food, surroundings and weather (what more could a girl ask for)
I would highly recommend a trip to st Lucia and a stay at the resort (you won't regret it)
I'm already planning to return next year and cant wait!!

We reserved a room at the last minute at the Bay Gardens after switching from another hotel down in Soufriere. Our room was a clean king size room with a modern, updated bathroom with nice tile, huge walk-in shower, and roomy sink area. The beds were firm but comfortable and most importantly the room had A/C.
The beachfront at Bay Gardens was quiet when we visited in May and there weren't a lot of vendors either which was nice. We only encountered maybe one or two per visit to the beach.
The food at the Hi Tide restaurant is well prepared and the staff at Bay Gardens is eager to help in any way they can. Upon check-in you are well cared for and informed of upcoming events, an orientation (if you wish), as well as a daily two for one happy hour in the bar area.
If you are tired of the beach, the pool is beautiful with surrounding tables and chairs for lounging, dining, or playing cards. In addition, the hotel is within walking distance to plenty of excellent restaurants such as La Terrasse, FireGrill, and Tandoori.
If we return to Rodney Bay, we would definitely return to Bay Gardens to stay.

Room Tip: There are no elevators so if you have trouble walking you might suggest a first floor room when maki...

This hotel is simply beautiful. One of the best on the island. My boyfriend and I met a few couples from other hotels and they said they were not half as good as Bay Gardens. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Specifically Lester, Jacque, Aisha, Nicky, Wilbert, Michal and Vidal. Julian, one of the cleaners was lovely too. He didn't even clean our room but made the effort to ask how we were when passing. The rooms are spotless, and everyday they are cleaned looking as they did on arrival. The pool is gorgeous, however the hot tub in the middle was too hot! Thankfully the weather was beautiful for us, although it might rain but its over in about 10 mins. We did a boat trip around the island which was brill. So much for you to see and do whilst you're there. Will definitely be returning. There are some stray cats, but they don't meow at you or bother you. We fed the poor things. The beach is beautiful as well and not crowded at all. People may try to sell you things but as soon as you say no they are friendly and walk away. Do not consider any other hotel. If you want quality then you most definitely need to visit Bay Gardens! Brilliant.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 505 which is the end room pool facing. I wouldn't pay any extra to have a sea...

When we planned our trip to St. Lucia, I had a hard time deciding where to stay. We ended up at Bay Gardens Beach Resort and we were very happy. The location was great. Reduit Beach, though not the most beautiful was really nice to walk on and the water was not to rough to swim in. The town was a 15 minute walk with lots of restaurants and shops to choose from and a small casino. the pool t the resort was great with a hot tub (it was actually hot!) in the middle. Rooms were modern, well appointed and the bathroom was gorgeous! The restaurant was very good and drinks were good, better ingredients would make better blender drinks. The entire staff from the waiters to the front desk were genuinely nice and did a great job. Well worth the price, I might even call it a bargain.

My husband and I have been lucky enough to have gone to quite a number of places around the world (and we don't do below 4*), but Bay Gardens Resort and St Lucia are now certainly near or at the top of our list.
Bay Gardens Resort has 2 main motto's "Your Window to Paradise" and "Your Home from Home" and they fulfil both of these.
To list a few things that made it a great holiday for us:
They make you feel welcome from the minute you get there with a handshake and first name introduction and a complementary drink - which after the long journey, helps to relax you into the St Lucian way - and there your holiday starts!
The whole hotel is spotlessly clean, but not clinical - with sofas, chairs and tables dotted around for your comfort.
We had a 2 bedroom suite overlooking the pool, with the beach and sea in full view too - perfect for watching the sun going down whilst supping a drink!
Again the rooms were spotlessly cleaned - and had ample room for a family of 4.
The kitchen was more than adequate to cook all meals if you so wished - but who wants to cook when you have a buffet breakfast available and so many restaurants in the local area to choose from?
All the staff were incredibly friendly - but not in your face.
And all watersports and trips of any type could be arranged without any problems.
Moving away from the hotel - the local area had everything you could possibly need - restaurants of all types, banks, supermarkets, shops, casino, clubs all within a 15minute stroll

We just returned from vacation @ Bay Gardens and it was everything we remembered it to be. The staff is fantastic! The accommodations are good. We upgraded to a suite and even though we didn't do a lot of cooking, it was nice to have the fridge, micro, etc and just more space. Everything is very clean and they are constantly remodeling units (that is nice to see). The location is ideal for shopping and restaurants - not to mention steps to a great beach. The peddlers do get to be a little annoying but you just need to be firm and stand your ground and they will back off. It seems they have expanded their activities from what we remember and we enjoyed the Manager's Party even though it rained for most of it.
Bottom line is ASK and you shall receive. I wish I could name everyone that had a part in making this a great vacation but the list would be too long!
Your friends in IOWA

Room Tip: We have been on the second floor and first floor - beach front. Both were great.

My wife and I stayed at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort in St. Lucia April 24-28, 2013. Before I begin the review, a little background. I have been to several islands-the Bahamas, Bermuda, Barbados, Jamaica, and now St. Lucia. I will cover 6 things in this review-the staff, the gym, the spa, the rooms, the restaurant, and the location.

First, the staff was friendly, cordial, and more than willing to accommodate requests within reason. An example of this was when a member of the restaurant staff left the restaurant in the rain to retrieve an umbrella so we wouldn't get wet heading back to our room. Staff-8/10. The facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, spa, gym, pool, and outdoor jacuzzi. The gym (2 stationary bikes, 1 treadmill, 1 stair stepper, 1 elliptical machine, 10-50lb dumbbells, free weight bench (home gym type), and pullup bar) was not state of the art but adequate enough to work up a sweat. Gym-6/10. My wife and I signed up for the 1 hour massage and scrub at the spa and it was one of the highlights of our stay. The spa was relaxing, tranquil, and the therapists gave us an excellent massage and scrub. I highly recommend it...and it was quite inexpensive ($44USD). Spa-9/10. The room we stayed in was ocean front on the second floor. It was your typical hotel room size with two beds, table, nightstand, 25 inch flat screen television, and a very spacious bathroom. The rooms are kept spotless and the beds were comfortable (for me that means right between soft and hard). Due to ongoing problem with our key card lock we were upgraded to a suite. The suite is twice the size of a regular room but most of that space is-in my opinion-wasted on a kitchen and living room. I am in the islands and won't be buying groceries to cook or be sitting inside watching tv. Save your money and get a regular room. Rooms-7/10. There is one restaurant on the premises called Hi Tide. The staff is very pleasant but the lunch and dinner food is not good at all. I am a huge fan of Caribbean food and this food did not hit the mark and was expensive to boot. You are safe eating breakfast there but that is it. But do not fret, there are many restaurants in walking distance. Restaurant-4/10. The location of the resort is wonderful! You are basically sitting on the beach and there are water activities available there at an additional cost. The road the resort is on has at least 5 restaurants in walking distance (5-10 minutes). If you don't want to walk, the resort offers a free shuttle to the mall which is about a 15 minute walk. Location-10/10. My one warning is to bring mosquito spray. I got bit literally 15 times! Overall, I would stay here again.

(NOTE: These ratings are in comparison to what I believe is a 10/10 resort-Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, Montego Bay, Jamaica)

Room Tip: Try to get a room closer to the middle of the resort. The ocean front room on the end had bad wifi...
