Went to Almond Morgan Bay for 10 nights on 28 May 2006. Despite a long flight (via Antigua with BA) and a bumpy (but interesting) transfer via minibus, the outbound journey was not too bad. The welcome at Almond Morgan Bay was warm and friendly and the ice cold refreshing towels were very gratefully received! Being return visitors to an Almond resort our request for a room upgrade from a Standard room to an Ocean view room was granted without additional cost. The room and en suite bathroom was very clean, well furnished and of adequate size for my partner, myself and my 8 year old daughter (who had a single bed in the room - our bed was 6ft wide) although the balcony was a little small and only had 2 chairs.

The re-furbished accommodation blocks and restaurants were very well decorated and furnished to a high standard. The site is quite hilly so I got a workout every day walking around the grounds, which were beautiful. Pools all nice and spacious and clean. Beach and watersports good fun and well organised.

The staff were helpful and friendly, particularly at the Plum Tree bar and grill where we spent most of our time around the kids pool. Food and drink of excellent standard - we made an effort to get up for breakfast every day. The evening entertainment was good - the children enjoyed the talent show in particular.

Don't miss Joy's tours - fantastic! We paid £75$ per aduld and £30$ for my daughter, but if you can guarentee a larger party, haggle. We also did the complimentary trip to Pigeon Island which was a good day out with a nice BBQ on the beach. The helicopter transfer (West Coast Shuttle) organised independantly through St Lucia Helicopters was spectacular and worth the added expense, especially as we didn't want to go home, it gave us something to look forward to and was the icing on the cake with regards to the end of our holiday.

We met some lovely families, from both the UK and the US and hope to stay in touch. And we'll definately return to Almond Morgan Bay.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 28th May 2006 for 14 nights and found it fabulous !

On arrival there was a freezing cold face towel handed to the guests who were feeling the heat and rum punch to drink. As we were honeymooners, we were upgraded to a beachview room and were put in the 700 block which is the closest to the beach, pools, bars and restaurants. We also recieved a celebratory dinner and a free massage ( both taken at our convenience ) which we were given together in a lovely room decorated with petals and scented candles. The food was excellent and the breakfast is the most extensive that i have ever came across. There is literally every type of breakfast food there to choose from and it is buffet service. The four restaurants were all completely different in decor and menu and changed the menu once a week. Men must wear long trousers for the evening meal and have a t-shirt on at lunch times although there was no dress code for the beach BBQ every lunchtime and Monday nights. If you like seafood Morgans Pier is a must, but all of the restaurants are really nice and are very accomodating. For those who had kids, there was a childrens menu to choose from if there was nothing on the main menu they liked and the is also the Plum Bar and Grill ( informal as it is outside so there is no dress code) near the childrens pool and club to get pizza, burgers, chips and daily pasta although this is only open untill 8pm. You need to book a table in the restaurants and you can do this two days in advance.

Drinks were plentiful and the cocktails were really nice, if your not sure what you want then just ask the staff and they will make you one up . All of the staff were extremly nice and nothing was too much trouble for them, if you asked where somewhere was they even walked you to it ! Watersports were really good and the instruction was excellent.

The rooms were very cool and clean and had a fridge, coffee maker, hairdryer, safe and cable TV. We had a kingsize bed and the room was extremly spacious with this in it, wardrobe space was ok but could have done with more hangers.

I would certainly reccomend this hotel and would return here in the future.

After reading reviews of the Coconut Bay Resort on Trip Advisor we switched our holiday to Almond Morgan Bay. Best decision ever. As a family of four we loved the two weeks and found it very difficult to find fault.

If you have read previous reviews, you will know that the food is excellent (we loved Le Jardin as our kids far preferred to eat with the kids club!). The rooms are lovely but not large, ours had a great view of the beach and pools. The water sports are fantastic ranging from the challenging water skiing to the great fun banana boat and Hobie sailing. I treid them all!

You will also know that Joy's Cruise is great. I found Joy on the first day and booked a trip. My daughter let him know it was my birthday and he surprised me at lunch time with a cake and bottle of champagne. He, along with many others, work really hard to make your holiday even better.

Reading reviews on Trip Advisor give a really good view of this place. However, a couple of things that were better than I had anticipated.

The Kids Club is new, well run and has a terrific programme - our two loved it. They are 11 and 6.

The Plum Tree and slush room mean the kids can also eat, get slush and pop corn as often as they want. This is great if you want some time alone.

Now for that shower. I have included a picture. The day we arrived saw frantic preparations for the Prime Minister arriving for the official opening on the following day. The shower by the family pool was not tiled. It took four men four days to tile it! We loved watching the laid back progress of the tiling and clear satisfaction of its creators when finally complete. It did not quite make it for the grand opening but we were finally able to use it toward the end of the fortnight.

If you are fortunate enough to go to the Almond Morgan Bay - use the shower and remember the huge amount of man hours invested in its tiling!

Finally, the reviews are also right about the airport transfer - it's terrible!

We stayed at the Almond Morgan Bay 23 May to 6 June 2006 We were married there on 31 May.The hotel was recently refurbished and I have to say it is to a high standard.
Food and drink were plentiful and the restaurants cater for all age groups.
The staff at the hotel were amongst the friendliest I have encountered and can't do enough for you.
A warning for those of you getting married, although efficient and helpful Marilyn the wedding co ordinator is quite laid back and sometimes forgets appointments, having said that everything went smoothly.Personally I would recommend getting married in the gazebo rather than the beach, it is a bit more private and intimate.
The trips were all good, if you have a family I would recommend the Brig Unicorn pirate day great fun. Also two of our group went scuba diving and the rest snorkelling with Rainbow tours who hang around by Morgans Pier. They were really helpful. The hotels watersports facilities are good with free waterskiing and although not advertised they took my young son and others out fishing(complimentary) for a couple of hours.
If you are travelling to St Lucia I have no hesitation recommending the Almond Morgan Byy

recently spent a week at Almond Resorts Morgan Bay.
First time & probably last on an all in package.(according to the speakers at the official opening this is the strenght of Almond group)
Resort newly painted & parts renovated at some USD50mill (??)
Rooms OK & reasonably large for European standards
Staff very friendly .Water sports good & staff very helpful but don't expect to snorkel
One chooses & has to book one of the 3 special restaurants & we tried all.
The menu's are wonderfully written to whet the appetite but not so the food.
Seemingly a lot was spent on the Captain Morgan fish restaurant but the meal there was very poor.
Bamboo was a great waterfront location but dinner was dissappointing-seemed to be either overcooked or reheated.Could do better with the coffee
Le Jardin was better in food terms but with the sittings we felt very rushed
Drinks were so so but the wine (1 choice of red & white) was a poor Argentinian one
As the Prime Minister said at the opening it is about value for money & they failed
(Incidentally the food was good that night!!)
Will go back to St.Lucia but not to Almond Morgan Bay
