We visited with our son and grandparents. The resort is really well set out if you have children as the pool is right next to the beach as well as the Sunset Lounge with a Pool table and table tennis under cover. We had a garden view suite which was nicely decorated with a big balcony, two flat screen TV's and very comfortable beds and pillows. We were very impressed with the staff, everyone was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was always something going on which suited our son and meant we got time out when we wanted. All of the activities are free, including tennis lessons and water sports tuition and even a banana boat. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. The food was overall very good, our favourite restaurant was Bamboo which was right on the beach but Morgans which is on a wooden pier was also very good. Palms is the main buffet style restaurant, we had some excellent lunches here too. Some of the facilities are a little dated (but were always clean) and Sunset Bar could do with a bit more atmosphere (play some music) when there is no entertainment but we saw a fantastic steel band and there was generally live entertainment every night from 6pm and again at 9pm.

Following other recommendations we went on the Joy's boat trip - a brilliant day out and very good value for money as there is a lot to see plus the home cooked Creole lunch on the beach was sensational.

What really makes this place stand out are the staff, especially Robbie who taught our son to waterski with incredible patience, Agnes who cooks the best breakfast eggs, Stan in Morgans for brilliant service, Ozzie for the football on the beach and Gertrude in Bamboo who really looked after us at dinner. We had previously visited the St James Club in Antigua and for us, this was an all round better experience. This is a good 3-4 star resort. We will be back soon!

Well we have been back 3 weeks now and miss this place so much! I was a worried after reading some of the reviews but couldn't fault the place at all.
We stayed for 10 days which was just perfect, we felt completely relaxed throughout our stay.
I agree the rooms are a little tired and could do with modernising but they are kept immaculate and our cleaner came everyday.
We couldn't fault the food and drink, my husbands favourite was the Jerk chicken and I loved the Fish creole at bambou (lunchtime) Also, a special thank you to the lady at Palms who does the fantastic omelettes and eggs -Alantha? always served with a smile :-) How you can go home without putting on weight is a mystery!!
The Bar staff are all fantastic, quick to see you have a drink in your hand and we did tip when they made me up unusual cocktails which tasted delicious.
The watersports made the trip worth the money for us, we sailed, kayaked, paddleboarded and water skied all included!! We also played tennis and the courts were good quality.
We did the day trip to the Pitons, snorkelling, mudbath etc and booked through the hotel which meant going on a catamaran, having spoke to others we wished we had booked Joys cruise on the speedboat as it seemed a lot more fun and they had a beach BBQ.
We paid for a taxi from the hotel into Castries which was an adventure and worth seeing on market day but we decided to be brave and get the bus further up the island to Rodney Bay (much cheaper option!) we decided we preferred our private beach rather than getting pestered for sunbeds, drinks etc! We were relieved to get back to the familiar surroundings of St James's :-)
We highly recommend this resort for couples or families, we made some lovely friends and lots of memories. We would go back tomorrow!!!

Room Tip: We were in block 300 and was perfect, not too noisy but also not far to walk - we had great AC too

We booked a standard garden view room and ended up with a sea view. The room was clean and tidy & of good comfort, block 400. Staff were very friendly & always seemed happy and polite (not surprising when the coldest its ever been in St Lucia on record is 19 Deg!).Bar staff, entertainers, beach, restaurant, spa & security staff (reassuring but not needed) were all cheerful. All restaurants were of a high standard (particularly Morgan's Pier) and the food was of excellent quality, rotated through themes which over 2 weeks were not repetitive like some hotels. Try the spa, my first ever Swedish massage was soooo relaxing. You'll also see some wildlife if you keep your eyes peeled - small frogs are really cute. A great hotel I'd really recommend.

Room Tip: Block 400 is away from the bars.

We've just got back from a week at this resort which we enjoyed immensely. But as so often happens a couple of fairly minor things happened to slightly upset what would otherwise have been a perfect holiday.

On the plus side (and there were many) this is a very good hotel complex offering just about anything a holidaymaker could want. There are five different restaurants all serving exceptionally good food and there are several bars available for most of the day and night where an extensive range of drinks are available. OK, so the beer and wine is not as good as some may be used to, but where quality may be a little lacking, quantity certainl isn't!

Service everywhere is excellent and the staff are very efficient and very friendly. The rooms are also good and spotlessly clean. The aircon works well and so does the fridge. Even though we saw one cockroach in the bar area one night, there were never any creepy cralies in the room. The weekly fumigation of the grounds obviously sees to that. Even the nightly entertainment offered something for everyone and there were plenty of activities available during the day along with a variety of watersports. There are also plenty of sunbeds both round the pools and on the beach, although the management's request not to put towels on them at 7.00 in the morning is totally ignored.

So just two little niggles.

We asked a couple of times for a patio table to complement our two patio chairs (somewhere to put our rum puches whilst watching the sunset) but the second time we asked we were told none were available due to the high occupancy. This seemed strange because the hotel did not appear full and anyway surely the hotel could afford a table for each room?

The second problem was slightly more serious in that on our last evening the elecricity supply to the lights and aircon in our room failed. This happened quite late in the evening and although two members of the maintenance staff came to take a look, they weren't able to fix it. In fairness to the management we were offered another room, but at 11.45pm at night we declined and borrowed a torch instead. The next day we did move rooms and this was handled both courteously and efficiently.

Overall we enjoyed St James Club tremendously and despite the niggles, will almost certainly return next year. And next time we will probably stay longer - a week was defintely not long enough!

Room Tip: Block 500 has really good views of the ocean and whilst it is not too far from the restaurants and b...

Just came back from a beautiful resort. The hotel is nice and very clean rooms, fridge in the room nice bonus. The staff were kind & friendly. A long drive from airport but very well organized to get us out of the airport and on our way. Thank you to Rep. Camilla who did an excellent job at the airport & at the hotel during our stay. Stayed in the"700" block rooms and the view was great, to the right the pools and to the left ocean, very close to everything if you are traveling with children.
Food was really good and service in all the restaurants was top notch.
Would recommend this resort and cant wait to visit again.

Room Tip: This resort is on a incline so some rooms were a climb to get to, I would highly recommend the 700 s...

Returned Feb.25 after 1 wk at this resort. It is about an 1hr from the airport if rush hr then more. The grounds are quite beautiful and well manicured. Very small beach but clean. There are 12 blocks of rooms with ocean views which most of them you have to walk up quite a distance (very hilly). We where in 509 ground floor right by the ocean and really not far from anything on the resort.(very quite at night) The rooms need some updating but where clean and pleasant. Fridge in room but not stocked with anything if you want bottled water it was $3 for sm. & $6 for lg.. Bathtub quite tall hard time getting in and out the shower. Food was excellent at the Pier and Tree Top.( a must try but if you are a big eater order double) The Palm (buffet) Bamboo (sit down) and Plum Tree (great for lunch) all have a good selection. A shout out to the guys servicing the pool who new what you wanted before you got there. Always happy Elijah/Nicholas & Emma (she sings & dances) & Vanessa in the Bamboo plus all the other numerous employees. Every one on the resort are very friendly & would go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Would recommend this resort.

We stayed here for 2 weeks end of January and found it to be good value. Rooms were cleaned every day, and bed very comfortable. Minor complaint was that there was no shower gel available, but plenty of shampoo!
Our other complaint was the gym - only 4 aerobic machines and the only treadmill was out of order for the whole 2 weeks despite requests to staff about repair! The tennis was good - free equipment and an hours free coaching Mon- Fri by the former St Lucian champion!
We also found drink service in the restaurants to be slow, especially in The Palm. We'd often finished our meal before the wine arrived! However the bars supplied a good variety of drinks and cocktails.
Would also agree the beach was on the small side, but at least there were plenty of sunbeds.

Room Tip: We stayed on the beach front in 7 block overlooking the pool, very conveniently placed. 6 Block woul...
