Stayed there for a week over Christmas 2013. Unfortunately Island was devastated by 24 hr. heavy rainstorm. Hotel management and staff ensured safety of guests even if this meant not being able to provide services to their standard. Communication with guests was excellent. Food very good for an all inclusive and was vegetarian/vegan friendly. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Rooms clean and good size. Furnishings very basic but comfortable.

This was our second visit to the beautiful island of St. Lucia, though our first stay at the St. James's Club. We previously stayed at the Sandals Halcyon Beach and much preferred the St. James's Club. We met up with family for Thanksgiving week and we all agreed that we would like to return to the resort. We were very happy with our rooms in the 1000 and 1100 blocks, which had wonderful ocean views. The only odd thing about both our rooms (which were almost identical) was that there was a bedside table on only one side of the bed, otherwise everything was to our liking. The food was varied, well presented and of good quality. We were very pleased bv the first class service, especially in the restaurants (in particular - thank you Nadia!) I note from another review (370Nick) a comment saying that the beach was nice, but the water was a bit murky and he wondered if it was due to a storm. We noticed the same thing and found out, during one of our dive trips, that a river opens out into the ocean just beyond the resort which is the reason for the "murky water". Since completing a "comments" card on leaving the resort, I have received an email from the Chairman thanking me for my comments. I am impressed, as I have never received follow up in the past from anywhere else I've stayed. This is truly first class customer service! I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: If you don't mind waiting for the motorized cart to drive you up the hill or are in good physica...

We were here last December 22nd-30 2012. We had an amazing week, Food was good, the boardwalk restaurant is beautiful, service is good except for a handful that that don't want to be there.(you have that everywhere though). The beach is nice, but the water was a bit murky, either there was a storm or its where the hotel is located. Going back home our taxi driver stopped half way to see the whole view of St. Lucia, it was beautiful and the water was turquoise blue. Its too bad we only stopped for 10 minutes would of liked to eat lunch up there, it is a beautiful island. The weather was great all week, a few times it rained but for 5 minutes. Passing cloud comes down pretty hard but then its sunny again. the entertainment is good. I like the fact that its a lot of European tourists, some from France, England. Met a beautiful family from Toronto, 3 girls from France but lived in Quebec they were in our taxi and plane going back loved there accent and style. There is a lot to do but can be a little pricy, you can order meat and lobster at the pier but its 30$ each but probably the best food. I will return one day, thank you St James Club Morgan bay for a wonderful week, memories that will last forever I think of that trip everyday.

Room Tip: choose a room from the 500's. amazing ocean view especially around 5:00. We were on the 1st whic...

This was our first experience of St Lucia and the staff at St James's certainly made us so welcome! We especially loved the ambience, as well as the great variety of different meals in The Palms restaurant. We had many laughs with the staff! The Christmas and New Year celebrations were wonderful, even though the staff had suffered many difficulties themselves due to the storm. The management must be congratulated on how well they kept the resort running smoothly. Our daughters loved the water sports. The team encouraged and instructed them with patience and provided lots of fun! For us, it was an exceptional holiday!

Given the unfortunate circumstances of the Christmas Eve monsoon and the devastation that was inflicted across the island, the people of St Lucia and specifically St James Club responded very well. The resort didn't miss a beat, even with water rationing, running on backup generators, no highway access and the airport being closed. Our hosts arranged alternate boating excursions and found ways to make the vacation everything it could be. I'd like to personally thank all the management and staff for their efforts during that trying time. Our thoughts are with those that lost loved ones to the storm or are rebuilding.

Island life is resilient and I'd return in a heart beat!

Room Tip: Beach front is best.

This is a great place to stay, but its the marvelous staff that make it truly wonderful. From the grounds staff to the waiters everyone of them are so genuinely friendly and can't do enough to help you.The hotel itself is kept clean & tidy .The watersports are outstanding. The food is of a very good standard . I cannot think of 1 thing that lets it down.Once again St James's thanks for a "awesome" holiday.

Room Tip: i doubt whether there is a bad room in the whole complex.

A wonderful holiday. The staff at this resort are exceptional and always pleased to help. The resort has improved greatly since Elite bought Almond out two years ago. Some parts of the resort are a little tired, but Elite have put a fresh stamp on things and Rome wasn't built in a day; the place is now looking fresher. The beach area has improved and there are plenty of sun loungers available for all. Sports and water sports activities are good, or you can relax around the pools, gardens or beach. The gardens are wonderful and well maintained. The food very good with a large selection catering for all tastes. A newly built Italian restaurant was due to open the day after we left. It's easy to get to the local areas of Castries and Rodney Bay with a good local bus service or by taxi and there are a number of excursions, I loved the day out with Randy of Sunlink Tours (booked through the Kuoni rep, Linda), (Land and Sea). I would return to this resort again and was sorry when the holiday ended,
There is a wonderful gift shop with hand made carvings and delightful jewellery just over the bay at the rear of St James Club, Morgan Bay, "The Sunshine Gift Shop". The appearance of a rickety turquoise corrugated shack should not be dismissed before viewing the treasures it contains within. The gift shop is run by Julie, Dan and other talented locals, who produce, with their skills, magnificent carvings and jewellery from coconut, wood, shell and other natural materials. Whilst I was there I commissioned a wooden carving and couldn't be more delighted and will treasure it forever as a reminder of my wonderful Caribbean holiday.
As well as the carvings, the jewellery, made from wood, carved coconut shell and seashells, is delightful. I fell in love with a necklace and whilst I waited on the beach, they made me a bracelet to match. They produce hand carved bowls and plates made from wood and plant pods and hats made from local palms. There are paintings of the sunset and local dolls. The locals are extremely talented and you can watch them make and carve their wares and come up with their fantastic creations. DON'T MISS OUT ON A VISIT IF STAYING CLOSE TO MORGAN BAY.

Room Tip: Our room was in block 1200 and had a wonderful view
