I was very concerned having read all the negative comments about this hotel,I need not have worried. This has just been taken over so maybe that is why it is so good now. The check in was quick we were taken to our room by a golf buggy. The room was spotless and large. We were booked into Palms restaurant the night of arrival which we were grateful for. After a long flight you dont want to start deciding where to go especially with a 7 year old!! The food was always good with a huge choice. We never had a problem booking any other restaurant. The staff were all fantastic the watersports were great. I can not fault this hotel. We have been to a few carribean Islands and this was fantastic.

Room Tip: We had an ocean front room 626 the room was fantastic and close to the main hub of activity but it w...

I was pleasantly surprised by this resort. I've only stayed at Sandals properties and was a little reluctant to stay somewhere else. This Morgan Bay was WONDERFUL! Our room had the BEST view and ocean sounds. The food was good, drinks were strong, service was excellent, resort clean and SO affordable. I was most impressed with not having to fight for chairs at the pools or beach, even though it was busy at the resort. They accommodated seating for all! It is the ideal place for marriage and/or vow renewal as their beach is large and beautiful. They also have a Morgan Pier restaurant that is just magical for a reception. The staff was absolutely incredible. Kermin who ran the recreation activities all day was absolutely splendid and ensured we had so much fun on the banana boat ride each day, 2 PM! We will be back and stay much longer next time!

Room Tip: 441 was the PERFECT standard room. The view was stunning, it was large and clean, and set at the en...

we just came back from a week vacation at the resport. Things you should know when staying at the hotel:

the dinner reservations are made only 3 days up front. So when you arrive the first night you are automatically book the Palm Restaurant. We had the BBQ buffet, 90% of the food including the BBQ meat & fish was tasteless. When trying to make dinner reservations for the following two nights we found the restaurants prime times were already booked. We could only get 8:30PM bookings, or the option to go back to eat in the Palm Restaurant.

The best dinning experience is the Bamboo, staff are amazing, food is excellent.

We ate breakfast and lunch at the Palm Restaurant. Buffet for breakfast and lunch was good, but you would always need to ask for salt & pepper for your table. Also, coffee/tea and water was brought to you when you sat down, but the staff were never around for refills. Very slow at taking dirty plates off the table. We had a pile of dirty plates when the Hotel Manager walked past, looked straight at the plates and carried on walking out of the restaurant. A lot of hotel chatter around the change of management, many of them are not happy and openly admitted to looking for jobs elsewhere.

Optional tours:
Definitely stay away from the Soufriere tour through the hotel. It does not give you any guiding, we were around 30 people from the hotel that were put onto a small boat as the large main boat had been filled up with Sandals guests. No snacks were provided and the tour as we were on the smaller boat, we did see the snacks on the main boat. It was just one mess. You could see they did not care about quality of the tour, but only booking as many people as possible on the tour so they could make more money. They took us through the Botanical Garden with one guide (narrow pathways), so only if you were in the front next to the guide could you hear, definitely should not use one guide for around 90 people.

We strongly recommend you book a tour with Joy who you can find on the beach. Far more superior tour (we did both). Joy offers an authentic day, much more sights and guiding throughout. He also provides an authentic home cooked meal on the beach on his tour. He is superb. He's son guides you on the boat around the island, gave us so much information, and his personality is second to one.

Good tours were the Whale & Dolphin Watch, never imagined we would see so many whales and dolphins! The staff on this tour (Hackshaw's Boat & Charters) were amazing, so knowledgeable and gave us an amazing half day.
We also did the Tranopy tour - tram, hike and zip line - a must!

The good things: Our room was definitely adequate. We had a room in the 5 block so we faced the ocean, gorgeous sunsets!
Staff are very friendly, but I feel the hotel should have some sort of smoking guideline. Either put up signs asking you to respect the non smoking guests or have a corner in the sunset lounge for smokers.
Beach staff were wonderful, always had clean towels available and were helpful with the water sports and equipment.

All in all a good vacation, but not sure we would go back to this resort.

Spent 10 days here in early October, quick check in,taken to room by golf buggy, room at the top of a very steep hill, view ok.No map given of hotel so I walked around in the dark, alone, until I found a restaurant. Heavy rainful during my stay, one trip(rainforest/jeep safari) was cancelled due to bad weather.Evening entertainment very samey, outside bar area flooded at night.

Bambou, after waiting for over an hour for main meal, gave up & went to the bar. Hard to get a booking for Pier, managed on last night, didn`t like anything on menu so asked for the chicken & fed it to the stray dog on the beach.
Palms best for variety,Kimberley makes fab omlettes. No cheese & biscuits for pudding, only very sweet food, need to cater for diabetics & savoury lovers.

Staff polite, friendly, ate at La Jardin as got free voucher due to missing meal at Bambou,it was a nice meal, but I don`t think anyone should have to pay extra for A/I.

Book/magazine swap was a joke, only three English books & about ten German,it needs to be centred in a visable place as it`s tucked out of the way, people weren`t aware it was there.

Bus to Castries,well it`s a people carrier,very cheap to use.Locals very friendly,market worth a visit.
Trip to volcano, botanical gardens, waterfalls, outdoor spa worth a look.

No problems getting a sunbed on beach,I don`t do shade, but a parasol was quickly aquired when it rained heavily. Didn`t get hassled by sellers on beach, though I heard others say they`d been offered drugs? The beach/sea wasn`t great,man-made & murky, but ok for a quick dip.

You can`t buy cigarettes etc in hotel or even in the shops within walking distance, you need to go to Castries, take your flight details & passport, visit the large dutyfree mall, very cheap.

St Lucia is the friendliest caribbean island I`ve been to( 6 so far) If you want a reasonable priced holiday, then this hotel may be for you.

Room Tip: Rooms high up on hill are very quiet, but not suited to anyone with mobility problems.Ask for extra b...

We arrived at this hotel expecting to be disappointed as we had had such a great holiday the previous year in the Dominican Republic. When we arrived (no thanks to a 3 hour delay due to bad weather) we weren't overly enamoured.

However, that quickly changed on the first full day when we met the restaurant staff and saw the standard of the food: great breakfasts with a huge choice of eggs (including poached with a pot of hollandaise sauce if you fancied eggs benedict); lunch was fantastic at both the grill and the main restaurant. Dinner was also outstanding at both speciality restaurants (we never had a problem to book these) and the main buffet. We didn't go to Le Jardin as you have to pay $27 per person extra. Afternoon tea was also a tasty bonus: lovely sandwiches, cakes and even scones. The Plum Tree Grill opened the day we left so we didn't get a chance to sample it.

Our room was huge (in the 400 block) and we had a lovely view over the neighbouring bay and Castries, but it was a little bit of a walk uphill. No problems though. Good size bathroom, lovely free toiletries.

The bars served you quickly and stayed open late enough. The hillside bar near the spa is fantastic if you want good quality spirits. A shame it's only open until 6pm. We had excellent mojitos and margaritas here. We only discovered the other bar by the reception a week into our holiday - it's open from 6pm and serves proper espresso coffee (something we had been missing) and good digestifs such as cognac, grand marnier, etc.

Beach was fine, although not as nice as other places in the Caribbean, but having done a few trips round St Lucia (definitely do the jeep safari/catamaran tour and Joy's cruise), it's not that kind of island. The beach at Morgan Bay has imported white sand and the water's a bit murky but that didn't really bother us.

The free watersports were fantastic and the guys made a real effort to keep the standards up.

All in all, a fantastic holiday, complimented by the brilliant staff who really go out of their way to treat you. I would recommend it to anyone.

I would have liked to give this hotel 4.5 out of 5 but Trip Advisor wouldn't let me. A couple of things here and there such as providing more showers around the beach/pool area and expanding the wifi coverage to the rooms would help. The gin tonics were also more or less undrinkable, although wine was fine.

Room Tip: We had a top floor room in block 400, overlooking the next beach and Castries. Beautiful sunsets.

Overall the staff was fun, attentive, and always helpful. We traveled with my elderly dad who was treated with great kindness. The food, room, and activities were great. It was relaxing for my husdand who needed a get away from work. Next time we will stay longer.

This was simply a great place to stay. Lovely room (we had a superior sea view) with fantastic views – even if the room was quite a walk uphill from the pools and everything else about the hotel. The food was really very good, especially in the Le Jardin restaurant. Even though you had to pay extra for this it was really worth it ($US25 dollars per had). Bit of a long transfer from the airport (90 minutes) but as we flew on to Barbados from the local airport (10 minutes away) it was good for us.

Great feature of the hotel is the staff – every single one was very friendly and helpful. Lots to do at the resort – but travelling out not too hard either. We took a couple of organised trips out (rain forest by gondola great) and went into Rodney Bay by taxi one day (missable).

You will not regret a week or more here.
