You can get great seafood and then dance the night away. The vendors are very nice and the rum punch is plentiful. A fun night is to be had at Gros Islet Street Party.

Great street party, it is a safe environment and great fun.

Partake in some street food, have a few drinks and go beyond midnight if you can as this is when the party is at its most vibrant.

What an experience, this was a great way to see how the locals party. We got there a little early at 8 o clock, I would recommend getting there about 9pm. It wasn’t huge and there was a few souvenir stalls and mainly food. We did have some nice food from one of the stalls. The rum punch was great and a good price.
The music and dancing was fantastic and a really good atmosphere, there are a lot of tourists and also a lot of locals.
I would recommend going on an organised trip, we were going to get a guide but I’m glad we didn’t as we didn’t need one.
At no point did we feel unsafe and the locals were really friendly. Would highly recommend a visit . A great night .

I had read a few reviews and was a little worried about safety but I am so glad we went!

We went to the party around 9/9:30 and stayed until a little after midnight. It is such fun and I felt very safe while staying on the main area. There are vendors where you can buy drinks, foods and other items. A couple of times people asked if we wanted to buy something but after saying no, they just moved on. Also a few drunk people but no one was doing anything inappropriate.

We say families and children (both local and tourists) there until we left.

We tried the chicken and the whole fish--definitely recommend both but the fish was one of the best I had on the island, so please try that (don't be turned off by the head--it is all part of the flavor!).

Everyone was dancing and having a great time--we tried spice, which is a local drink. It packs a kick so have just one or two before you go back to beers :)

Went with my husband and a couple we met, fantastic night out
Dancing to local music and reggae and enjoying cheap drinks of local beer
Fantastic local people and of course the odd weirdo but just ignore
Only go if you like music and love dancing and having fun
Some thing authentic and different and made us feel like we arrived in the Caribbean

Took my daughter's friend for a look around as it was her first time on the island, live DJ, a good choice of food stalls plenty of drinks, lots of fun aim for around three hours don't get there too early, lots of happy people dancing, well worth a visit. we had no trouble there on this visit and I have never experienced any trouble there

Leave the all inclusive behind and just go. Aim for about 9 pm and stay as long as you like. BBQ fish and local lobster go to Dukes Place, just brilliant, worth the wait and at about $20ec you can't go wrong for the best fish in town.. Enjoy the vibe have a few Rum punches and get taxi home. We loved it, the fresh fish was amazing and a half lobster looked great at only $35ec.
