The Street Party gives a great impression of the upbeat and party lifestyle that St. Lucians love. The BBQ's all have locally grown and prepared food and when buying food and drinks remember that it's priced in EC dollars NOT US. Don't feel unsafe or be afraid but do always be aware of your surroundings

This is huge fun, but best to go in a group if possible. It's a late night as it doesn't really get going til after 10.00 p.m. The BBQ food on offer is delicious. The music is loud and the party is good humoured - you will bump into (literally!) the locals who are very happy to meet you! Not to be missed - it's a big crowd so be sensible about possessions and money.

Go to the party at about 8 and expect to leave before 1pm. There are lots of bars where you can buy a beer and use the loo. There are street food stalls (take cash and they are not cheap - ~EC$50 for a plate of fish etc). The food is good and very Caribbean but don't expect efficiency or speed of service.

By far the best value for the dollar. Our family of five ate for about $27USD. We had grilled marlin from one of the venues, it was excellent (and I am not a fish fan!). It was so good in fact that we went back the following Friday. As long as you stick to the main street it's okay in terms of safety, but still it's important to remember where you are.

Great Friday Night Jump Up. Meet and dance with the locals - very atmospheric! Take the usual precautions.
