Description: With its Spanish-inspired decor and menu of 'little dishes from around the world', Tapas On The Bay is tucked into a breezy corner of Rodney Bay marina lagoon, where a steady breeze blows across the calm waters and cools its spacious covered deck. The long, Soufriere stone clad bar is perfect for enjoying a quick lunch or dinner, and the secluded location makes Tapas On The Bay a great place to relax and chill out. Taking traditional tapas as a base, Chef Rosie incorporates Caribbean and international influences, creating innovative new bite-sized dishes with local ingredients and flavours, serving them on sharing platters for a very social eating experience. There are also plenty of delicious entrees and yummy desserts to round out the menu. Throw in some excellent wines, three different types of sangria and boozy cocktails by the jug, and Tapas On The Bay could be your next favourite dining spot in Saint Lucia.

This fairly new place is in a great location. The building interior is kinda Spanish in design and it's all open to the (welcome) breezes but either reserve or get there early enough to get a table on the deck, right out by the water's edge. For atmosphere and romance this is probably the best location of the places we tried in Rodney Bay Village.

The food is great. I've had my fair share of tapas in Spain, well away from the tourist trail, so I don't quite buy into the "it's as good as Spain" line but I wouldn't expect that anyway - apart from anything else some of the ingredients must be hard to source. However, your tastebuds are in for a treat. While I found the (spanish) tortilla a bit bland and the least authentic, the albondigas (meatballs) were outstanding, as were the chicken wings. The chorizo was pretty good too. We shared a (medium pizza sized) flatbread with goat's cheese and caramelised onions which was also delicious. I barely got a look in at the chocolate fondue sharing dessert but the smile on my girlfriend's face and the speed with which it vanished suggested it was pretty damn fine.

So real plaudits to the chefs here but also to the wait staff, who (along with those in Spice of India) are the most welcoming, attentive and pleasant of any of the places we've tried in St Lucia. With the food and the location it all amounts to a powerful combination.

Thank you for taking the time to review Tapas on The Bay so eloquently. We welcome all feedback, and will pass your comments on to Chef Olivier. You hit the nail on the head regarding availability of ingredients, but we are now working with a great company to supply the restaurant consistently. Hope you will visit Tapas again in the future, and please do say hello! Rosie & Marc Joinville

Someone in our group spent several months in Barcelona and said the food rivaled what he ate there. It tasted great and the variety is wonderful.

Located adjacent to the Big Chef, Tapas has a deck right on the water with a beautiful view of the water. The night we were there it was a full moon and we watched it rise over the hills and shine onto the water. The service was perfect, professional and friendly. The food was great. We shared a number of tapas and had no need for a main course. Well done!

Full moon evenings are definitely spectacular on the deck at Tapas, and Christmas breezes are stiffening so we highly recommend the experience. We're glad you enjoyed your evening, and thank you for the great review. See you again on the Bay! Rosie & Marc Joinville

As this is owned by the guys who have the Big Chef Steak House, we thought we'd give it a try on our last evening out there.. I wish we'd tried it sooner, as it was just delightful. You walk down the alleyway with slight trepidation wondering where on earth it is going and you are stunned by the lovely view of the marina. There's even a dingy station for you to park up and come straight into the restaurant from your boat - clever ;)

The food was mostly lovely, but the only thing that disappointed me was the meat platter, I was expecting the usual fare (parma, prosciutto etc) that you get in European restaurants and just got ham and salami. However I suspect this is due to not being able to get those meats over there, rather than sloppiness on the restaurant's part.

We love your description of Tapas and are happy you found our second restaurant in the nick of time. Also grateful for your feedback on the meat platter - you hit the nail on the head with regard to availability, but since opening we have been working with a new supplier to make sure Tapas can offer authentic and delicious cold cuts. Thanks for taking time out to review, and hope we'll see you again at Big Chef Steakhouse and Tapas on the Bay. Rosie & Marc Joinville
