Owner description: For those seeking a more intimate sailing and yacht charter experience, away from the hustle and bustle of larger boat tours Jus' Sail offers the very best laidback Caribbean Sailing along the stunning St Lucia coast aboard ~ Good Expectation ~ a lovingly restored wooden Carriacou Sloop, the traditional trading vessel of the West Indies with a cultural heritage dating back over 175 years. Learn to sail, chill out on our wide open decks lounging in oversized beanbags whilst the wind carries us along under sail, snuggle up on a romantic sunset cruise, or explore out of the way coral reefs & deserted beaches, Jus' Sail guarantee a fabulous sailing experience. Small groups & private sailing charters available.

The highlight of our trip! James, Pepsi and Herbie exceeded our expectations!

We were traveling with a party of 8 including our two young children ages 3 and 5. The crew of the Good Expectation were fabulous and a great time was had by us all. I am sure if we were an adults only trip we would have had an equally great trip with a little different spin so to say.

James made certain our kids were safe in well fitting life jackets and Pepsi made sure we were all well hydrated and had as many snacks as we could want. Pepsi certainly makes the best rum punch on the island (trust me we sampled quite a few recipes during our stay) and I still want to know where she got those banana chips! The entire crew has a great knowledge of sailing and the island as a whole and is ready to share it. Just veg out on deck or be part of the crew! We took a half day cruise (about 4-5 hours) out or Rodney Bay down to a little traveled cove for some snorkeling and good time lounging in the water. We were not sure how our 3 year old son was going to do on the cruise so we only booked a half day. I wish we would have done a full day because no one wanted the trip to end!

You will be hard pressed to find people more concerned with safety for their children than we are and while going out on the ocean is never without risk you would be hard pressed to find a better outfit than Jus Sail!

P.S. The added bonus of Herbie giving our daughter the mango after the voyage was very special to her. Tell Herbie thank you again!

Dear Ron,
Thank you so much for taking time out to write us a review. We thoroughly enjoyed having you and your family aboard with us and the children were wonderful shipmates. Its always a different experience with young children, but always a great one at that! We especially love it when youngsters have so much fun in the water. We have passed on your thanks for the mango to Herbert who was very happy indeed to know that the mango went down so well!
We really look forward to welcoming you all aboard with us again in the future.
Best wishes.
The Jus' Sail Crew.

I booked a private charter for the day with Jus' Sail for my husbands birthday. I couldn't have planned a more perfect day! James and Pepsi are absolutely charming. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them about traveling, St. Lucia, etc. We were showered with beverages (my husband says the best rum punch he has ever had!), got a coastal tour of the west side of the island (which was beautiful), anchored at a gorgeous snorkeling spot and overall had a fantastic experience. They even had a bottle of champagne and cake at the end of our day to celebrate the special occasion! James and Pepsi, I cannot thank you both enough for making out trip to St. Lucia fabulously unforgettable. Cheers!

I recently had the opportunity to join the Jus' Sail team on their expedition up to St. Barth's for the West Indies Regatta. As a novice with limited experience, particularly on such a long journey (around 500 miles round-trip), I was a little apprehensive to say the least, with concerns about safety, comfort and a confined space with people I hardly knew.

I quickly realised that I had no cause for concern. Captain James and his First Mate Herbert (Herbie) have years upon years of experience sailing all kinds of vessels all over the world, and clearly take their profession extremely seriously. No corners were cut and no expenses spared in making sure that Good Expectation was fully provisioned, with food and water to last three times our projected duration at sea, comprehensive safety equipment for each crew member, waterproof clothing, solar charging devices and enough charts to navigate ourselves halfway around the world.

Good Expectation is a small Carriacou sloop, handmade from wood almost thirty years ago to carry goods between the islands, and is a far cry from some of the mega yachts seen cruising into Rodney Bay Marina today. However, despite being the most basic she is also one of the sturdiest and most comfortable boats that I have had the pleasure to sail on, a testament to the loving care and attention that James and Herbie have invested in her since their purchase in 2011.

Chances are, if you're reading this, you're considering one of their tours, so your focus may be less on provisioning and preparedness for bad weather, and more about enjoyment! You will not be disappointed. Unfortunately many of the alternative providers in the region pile the tourists onboard, turn up the Bob Marley CD, crack open the rum punch and leave you to it. Not so onboard Good Expectation. Jus' Sail is about keeping traditional Caribbean sailing alive, and as an aspiring sailor I was literally shown the ropes and invited to do as much or as little as I wanted, with support and guidance every step of the way. Both highly experienced sailors, James and Herbie would recount their experiences at sea, often teasing each other jovially, point out different species of fish, birds, turtles and dolphins, and share myths and legends about the islands we passed. Their passion for their work is surpassed only by their enthusiasm to share it with others.

A trip onboard Good Expectation, whether out into the bay for a sunset cruise or a week-long adventure through the Caribbean, is a must during your visit to St. Lucia and is guaranteed to be an experience that you will cherish long, long after you return home.
