We stopped in mainly because an afternoon shower caught us out-we were celebrating a 21st Birthday, so we decided to grab a snack & a drink. Two of us had beer, and the Birthday Gal had a Blue Kamikaze...which we drank for her! It should have been made with a top shelf vodka (according to price), but clearly was not. That said, we finished it anyway :) We had an order of Honey BBQ chicken wings, which were much more well received-they were gone pretty quickly! So, food-good, drinks ok...hence the average rating here...

We have eaten here a couple times, location is on second floor of Baywalk Mall. A sister restaurant to The Coal Pot. Food was excellent, we were not disappointed.

Good food and service. The food is pricey, especially considering it is in the "high street" shopping mall and not by the sea or water.

First rate dining experience. From start to finish, Chef Xavier was on point with every single dish. The flavours, freshness, execution and presentation were all outstanding. All 6 of us had a 3-course meal, and were glad for it as the desert was not to be missed. The wine list was good, as was the atmosphere. The service needs improvement although the food was so good we hardly noticed, and were aware that this is still a new restaurant so the staff will take some time to get fully acquainted. To the best of my memory, here is what we had:

trio of soup (gazpatcho is the best I've ever had)
terrine
goat cheese salad
shrimp cocktail
Coquille St Jacques
Escargots

jumbo shrimp in garlic sauce (2)
Filet Mignon (2)
Rib eye steak (companion raved about the Creamy Mustard orShallots and Merlot Wine Sauce)
seafood Bouillabaisse

Each desert was so out of this world that we ended up tasting everyone else's...
chocolate fondant with chili sauce (to die for!)
passion fruit tart (tied for first in my mind)
dark chocolate mouse (2)
new york cheesecake with tropical fruit topping
creme brule

Chef Xavier, at the far end on the first floor of a shopping mall, is not the easiest place to find, especially when there are other restaurants fronting the main strip in Rodney Bay. But it is worth persevering to find this place, which is overall good value for a "nice meal out".

We had not booked, but they nevertheless welcomed us and offered us a choice of table.

The view is not spectacular, like across the Marina, or out to sea, so it is hardly worth requesting a table facing outside - in fact, when we went there it poured with rain, and those particular tables got a real soaking! In spite of the fact that it faced a busy road, they have created a pleasant ambiance, such that it becomes difficult to remember that this is a modern concrete shopping mall.

The cuisine is French-based: there was a table of French visitors next to ours, and they appeared very happy with the food! There was a good balance between presentation (interesting but not over-fussy), quality (which was pretty good, just a little short of 'haute'), volume (we were pleasently satisfied, neither bloated nor feeling the need to pop into a Pizza place afterward!) and choice (not overwhelmingly large, not restrictive in the options).

Some wine was available by the glass (great if you are driving), and the service was just about right, not so fast we felt rushed, not so slow that we wished we'd brought a book to read!).

We might have gone back to Xavier, but there were so many other restaurants from which to choose, but the fact that we considered this as a possibility says a lot in its favour.
