“private boat charter with exodus”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

We were staying at the Landings in Gros Islet and were approached on the beach at our resort by someone from Exodus charters. I had seen their reviews before we left for St Lucia, and remembered that they had received good reviews. So after discussing their tours we decided to book a half day private charter for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens)

We were picked up at the dock right at our resort, and decided to go back to the southern end of island for swimming and snorkeling. Our boat was FAST! and we enjoyed the ride down to Jalousie beach at the base of Jade resort. Beach was absolutely beautiful with black sand and the Pitons in the background. There was a marked off snorkeling area and we saw a ton of fish. After snorkeling for a while we swam back to the boat and grabbed some beers to drink on the beach.

All too soon we had to head back. There had been a couple very brief showers while we were out, and as a result we saw several beautiful rainbows on our way back. We also did a quick stop for some pictures at a rock archway that was in Pirates of the Carribbean

I only wish we had booked the boat for full day - our half day was supposed to be 3 1/2 hours and we got back in just over 3 hours. It feels petty but I did notice we got back a little early and that's the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. But we did have a fabulous time and I would book with them again.

“Pitons, snorkel, mud bath and lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

A five hour excursion in a speed boat down the west coast of St. Lucia that is awesome. Get your pic taken with your own camera in front of the Pitons, snorkel in a great location between the Pitons, get a mud bath from volcanic mud, rinse off under a waterfall, and have a great lunch at a local restaurant. Beautiful scenery on the boat with a great crew!

“Great Family Excursion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

We booked this tour in advance online via their website. Catrin promptly contacted me with all the information and pricing I was looking for (family of four, children ages 13 and 15). We decided on a half day tour and gave her our deposit via credit card. She emailed to confirm the trip before we arrived in St. Lucia. The day of the trip they picked us up promptly at our resort marina, The Landings. The Exodus crew, Dave and Chaka were awesome! Very accommodating, knowledgeable and fun. The weather that day was a bit overcast and rainy but we made the most of it. On the way to Sugar Beach we took in the beautiful St. Lucian coast line, points of interest and Dave gave us some history about the island. We also had to duck into a few coves to get out of the rain, but Chaka knew where to go while we waited out the rain. We snorkeled at Sugar Beach which is right in between the Pitons. The location is truly beautiful. Snorkeling was pretty good, saw a bunch of various fish, squid, a snake (!), etc. The kids loved it. I would suggest going in the morning because as we were leaving the beach/snorkeling area it became very crowded, I believe from the cruise ship tours. On the way back Dave pointed out a few bat caves (one was loaded with bats!) and various points of interest while we had a few drinks (rum punch for the adults). It was a very memorable day for all of us, particularly my son who was celebrating his 15th birthday that day. I had mentioned this birthday to Catrin when booking and to our surprise Dave brought out a cake and sang happy birthday to him (which BTW my son managed to single handedly finish once back in our room). Super nice touch!! Overall a great trip with a top notch, professional crew. They even came back to the resort to bring my husband his flip flops which he had left on the boat. If you are looking for a half-day boat tour with snorkeling I would highly recommend Exodus.

“Great All-Day Family Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014

Two families (4 adults and 6 kids ranging from 11 to 6) spent the day with Jeremie and Dave and we had an absolutely fantastic time! I contacted Exodus about a month ahead of our visit and Catrin responded promptly to discuss our options. She could not have been more accomodating, as we went through the various types of trips that Exodus offers and what might work best for the kids. We settled on a full-day tour, and Catrin suggested Saturday since that was the day that no cruise ships were in port. We agreed, provided our credit card, and were all booked.

On the day of the trip, Jeremie and Dave pulled right up to the Marina where we were staying (the Landings) and after a quick discussion of what we would like to do for the day, we set off down the west coast of the island. The kids loved the speed boat and bouncing on the waves (our more motion-sick adults not so much!). We stopped a few times along our way to Sugar Bay - Marigot Bay to see the amazing yachts, an outcropping used in Pirates of the Caribbean, and a very other interesting sites along the coast. All along the trip, Dave pointed out interesting details around the different resorts, the history of the island, etc.

Once we arrived at Sugar Bay, we got off the boat and snorkeled for about an hour. It was a nice snorkel spot in that you could walk directly in from shore. Although the snorkeling by comparison to other spots in the Caribbean was just so-so.

After the snorkeling, we got back on the boat and headed to Sourfriere, where we got off to go inland a bit to explore. One note of caution, we had to pay a "docking fee" in order to get off the boat to the harbor master. Understandable, but it would have been nice if this would have already been taken care of by Exodus. The good news was that Jeremie had already arranged for a taxi to take all 10 of us and picked us up right outside of the docks.

From there, we headed up the mountain, into the volcano and got to go to the natural mud baths! A little smelly from the sulphur, but you get used to it after a few minutes. Again though, we had to pay an entrance fee (cash only). The mud baths were amazing, and the kids really got a kick out of it. Great picture opportunity too! From the mud baths, the taxi took us over to one of the natural waterfalls. Once again, beware because there was a separate entrance fee (cash only). Because we were still in the volcano, the waterfalls were warm! It was great to soak in the baths that were constructed under the waterfall. It was like a natural hot tub. Finally after soaking for a while and taking more pictures (this waterfall spot was also shown in a scene from Superman II), we headed back down to town, paid the taxi (cash only) and were dropped off at the local restaurant for lunch.

The lunch was fine, but quite slow. Again, it would have been nice if Exodus had a few places they already know of and could have made the accomodations ahead of time. They do say they are happy to book lunch ahead of time if we had suggestions. But not knowing the island, it would be have been better if the had a few standbys to suggest.

Finally, we headed back to the boat, hooked up an IPhone to the boat speakers, cranked up some tunes, and head out of Soufriere. We stopped for another short snorkeling stint (a little better than Sugar Bay, but still not what you find elsewhere) and then headed back up north to complete our trip, with only a brief stint in Rodney Bay harbor to see the pirate ships.

Overall, we had an amazing time and the kids absolutely loved it and Jermie and Dave in particular. I would highly recommend Exodus and think you can't go wrong with them. One thing that could make it better is if they just increased their price a little bit and covered the incidental expenses along the way. The would make things much easier and not force you to carry so much cash around while you're on the boat.

“Great Day with Captain Jeremie and Kimo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2014

My wife and I traveled to St. Lucia with two other couples for a first time visit. We contacted Exodus about a full day boat tour before heading down there. We wanted flexibility, without crowds, and deferred to Exodus on ideas for the day. I made the arrangements with Catrin. She was very responsive and helpful.

We showed up the day of our tour and Captain Jeremie and Kimo were right on time and very friendly. With a quick orientation and safety briefing we headed out to sea. Jeremie and Kimo were extremely friendly, fun, and professional. They had great information about the island and its history. They organized a wonderful day for us, complete with fishing, snorkeling, sightseeing, and a meal in Soufriere. The boat was very clean and Jeremie and Kimo obviously took a lot of pride in their work. We truly enjoyed their company, graciousness, and professionalism.

We will not hesitate to use Exodus, Jeremie, and Kimo on future trips and highly recommend them to those interested in a St. Lucian boat tour.
