We booked a full day speedboat charter before we travelled to St Lucia based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback on tripadvisor - we were certainly not disappointed! Even before we left the UK, Exodus had impressed me with their swift response to my emails and their reassurances that our three children (aged 4,7 & 8) would be fine on board and that life jackets etc were all available. Captain Del and his first mate Arnold picked us up from our hotel which had its own marina (Landings) at 10am and from the word go did everything possible to ensure that we relaxed and enjoyed the day. We agreed a rough plan for the day, which included a trip down to see the Pitons and a short land exclusion to visit the sulphur springs and waterfalls. They also took us to Anse Chastanet where we had a fantastic lunch and then snorkelled in the marine reserve, before visiting another beautiful bay, Anse Cochon, for more snorkelling and swimming.
Our youngest was not keen on spending much time in the water but captain Del kept her happy on board (she loved sitting in the first mate's seat eating the Pringles which were meant for attracting the fish!) Arnold also provided an excellent companion for our elder two which meant that my husband and I spent a good amount of time just relaxing in the sun with our beers and rum punches! Although the trip works out more expensive than doing one of the group land and sea tours (as you have to pay for lunch, taxis and entrance fees to any attractions on top) I still think it offers excellent value - being able to tailor the day to suit us was great, the quality of service from Captain Del and Arnold superb and it really was the highlight of our holiday.
