The Wilsons - Surrey

Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou.....for yet another great holiday!

This hotel never lets us down - rooms are clean, well maintained & very comfortable.
All the staff are so kind & friendly & cannot do enough to make your stay relaxing & enjoyable.

Great location for the beach - 2 mins walk - AND FOR restaurants - 10 - 20 mins walk.

It may not be the most luxurious hotel in Rodney Bay - but if you want to feel wanted....
STAY HERE!!!

As frequent visitors to St Lucia (this was about my 6th/7th visit to Rodney Bay), this hotel is shocking & should not be visited. Stay at Coco Palm or Bay Gardens instead. This hotel should have remained The Rainbow instead of being changed into the hotel from hell. The only good thing is the cheapness of the price, but this more than reflects in the lack of anything else. Problems - the most unfriendly and unhelpful staff in St Lucia, you ask for coffee at breakfast and it doesn't arrive or, you just get looked at as if "what, you want me to get you something? gosh no, not in my job description!" Toaster only worked once during stay and staff wouldn't mend, leaking toilet, room smelt badly of urine, took lot to get room change, bed very uncomfy, insects in room, room walls thin so can hear next door's TV, pool supposed to close @7pm but rule not enforced and people just swim into the night and cause so much noise. Not a quiet hotel as nightclub/ bar next door. Lack of selection of drinks at bar. Thank god for the great beach nearby and great restaurants (always good). check out rituals coffee shop(good breakfast, good coffees), razmataz, tex mex, memories of hong kong and charthouse.

We chose The Village Inn and Spa because all we were looking for was a bed and breakfast service. We were not looking for an all inclusive or half board hotel as we enjoy going out, exploring, trying different restaurants etc. Bed and breakfast is fairly hard to find in St Lucia as we found out and in the end we did not choose to have the breakfast as it cost $11 per person per day! For our family of 4, that would have been $616 just spent on breakfast for 2 weeks!

On arriving, the hotel looked lovely and we were greeted in reception with fruit punches which were delicious. Our rooms were on the top floor and we had a great views of the pool and beach. The rooms were kept very clean and the cleaners visited daily. We were given airconditioning and a ceiling fan, tv, hairdryer, and plenty of storage space. Other larger rooms had a fridge which would have been very handy, but we were given a cool box by some other customers which worked well to keep our food and drinks cold.

The pool area was great and never got too busy. We also noticed they are not strict about pool closing times, as there were still people swimming around and in the jacuzzi at 10-11pm! The pool bar was nice, however service was very slow (CARIBBEAN TIME everything takes twice as long) so everything we ordered would take forever to come. The rubdown smoothies are delicious if you get a chance to try one (coconut and banana).

The beach is very close its literally out the hotel and across the road. You have to walk through a different hotel (Bay Gardens Resort) but it is not a problem at all and all it takes is 2 minutes before your feet are on the beach. After seeing alot of beaches around the island Reduit beach is my firm favourite the sand is gorgeous and the sea is a still blue turquoise colour you really feel like you are in paradise. My only problem is there are no deck chairs or sunbeds available - they belong to Bay Gardens Resort Hotel so we were not allowed to use them.

The hotel is situated right at the end of the road and is the furthest hotel from the centre so quite a walk if you want to go out for dinner, go to the shopping mall etc. Id say it took roughly 15 minutes which is not far but in the high heat it can feel longer. Restaurants I'd highly recommend are the steak house (best steak I have ever tried), The Red Snapper (mixture of fish food, grills, salads, burgers), Elenas (best ice cream parlour!!) and Spinnakers (on the beach front).

I would highly recommend doing the Piton Volcano Boat trip which is a whole day out sailing down the west coast of St Lucia to the Pitons. You get to see the volcano and sulphur springs, walk around the botanical gardens, go snorkelling and have a buffet style lunch on board. We also hired a car to see some other parts of the Island, and really enjoyed Anse Chastenet beach. Its the number 1 diving spot in St Lucia and the water is extremely clear. We went snorkelling and saw the most amazing fish! We also took a trip to pigeon point which is worth seeing.

The people of St Lucia are really friendly and welcoming they will always chat with you. Be careful of people trying to rip you off as we had this on multiple occassions, they tried to sell us sticks (yes sticks..), alovera leaves (for $10 a leaf.. yes $10) and all sorts of other things. Best thing is to say no thank you and walk on. If you end up engaging in conversations they will not leave you alone and you end up having to pay them just to get rid of them!

We really enjoyed our holiday we would love to come back and I'd really recommend staying in the Village Inn and Spa if you're looking for a nice friendly hotel, and it's great if you don't want all inclusive.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Bequia. We were very disappointed. The beds were hard and poor quality sheets. We were there on a Weds night and it was so loud that we couldn't sleep. The bathroom looked in poor condition, although clean. I would have thought the bathroom to be a lot older than 4 years old. The staff was very friendly and that was good. We paid like $160+US for our room and I didn't think that it was that kind of quality. ...but maybe that isn't a lot here....but we were in the down season. We would not go back there and stay again.

I’ve traveled to many places and have had the opportunity to stay in some lovely hotels and I must say that the Village Inn and Spa is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Me and my friends traveled to St. Lucia to experience carnival and wanted to stay in a place that was close to the parade and we ended up being in a great location. The beach was beautiful and refreshing and is just a couple of steps outside the hotel. Carnival in St. Lucia starts in the city of Castries which is 15-20 minutes from the hotel so traveling was not a problem. The staff is very warm and personable. I must recommend the All-inclusive package. Restaurants in the area can be a little expensive even with the exchange rate so your best bet is the all-inclusive. We were provided with Breakfast (Buffet), Lunch, and Dinner. Also, all-inclusive drinks, I tell you that the rum punch and tea punch will make u feel right at home. My friends and I felt comfortable just relaxing outside and playing dominoes and spades. The staff was so friendly they would bring us drinks without us even asking. Any questions or issues that we had the staff were quick to answer and resolve for us. Transportation was available for to us to go to the concerts going on that weekend and also to the parade.

Omg... one of the best travel experiences of my life. I travel to a different destination every year, but this was honestly one of the first times I really didn't fee like leaving. The village inn and spa really makes you feel right at home. Some of the most amazing staff I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. The service and hospitality was exceptional.

This resort is truly a hidden Gem in Rodney bay. Although it lacks in visual appeal, it completely makes up for it with its service, and food. Oh yes...the food. Exceptional 3 course menus that will keep you full for your entire stay. Well, that is only if you decide on the extremely affordable all inclusive package. Great drinks to keep the lush in you satisfied.

This is definitely the place to go if you are looking for an extremely relaxing blissful vacation. I plan on re booking for next year, and hopefully i would be able to request room 73 once again ;)

Were should i start, well while on vacation in the islands make sure your not starving when you go to order food, other than that the food at this hotel was really good! Needless to say the food was worth waiting for!

The servers and service was great, and the staff always said hello and had a smile on their faces. The weather was great, and even when it rained the sun still was out!

We had the all inclusive package, and the food was prepared to order no buffet; except for breakfast, and one night during the week. For us it was well worth it, as the food was excellent and we could have all local beer, wine, and spirits. Plenty to eat and drink! The beach is accross the street, and there is a pool at the hotel.

We went on a couple of tours (1) The land and sea - which included lunch and was a great day. (2) Zipline in the rain forest - 1/2 day and you get rum punch (strong!) and no meal. Both tours were well worth the price (eventhough they were not cheap i.e. $100US/person).

We also had spa treatments, fantastic!!!

At the end of the trip we made sure we left a tip for each of our servers and our chamber maid, they were very appreciative.
