If you are looking for peace and quiet, excellent service, fabulous food and drink, smiling faces and a beautiful location you should look no further.
The five of us (2 adults, 17, 11 and 7) have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks at this gem of a resort. It often felt like we were the only people there although the 30 chalets were full I think ... a testament to the spaciousness of East Winds and the attentiveness of the staff.
For us, shuffleboard, table tennis, fitness trail, beach and swimming pool were more than enough to fill the time between the sumptuous dining experiences served in the elegant beachside restaurant.
No night clubs, pool aerobics and kids club here, and that is a huge positive for this traditional caribbean getaway.
When you add the good free WiFi connection, extensive choice of premium brand drinks, not to mention the excellent champagne and daily special cocktails, its difficult to see how we could find better and this is our 6th visit to the Caribbean.
Our thanks to all at the resort who made our stay so special and a particular mention to Miriam, Titus and Fina, and thanks to Gareth for the cricket chats!
We look forward to coming back soon.

Room Tip: For us we had the perfect rooms. Superiors 7 and 8.

We have just returned from a 10 day holiday at East Winds. We loved the quiet location and beautiful gardens. The food in the restaurant was sophisticated, with local fruit and fish always on the menu. The restaurant itself is right on the beach and looks gorgeous at night. The meals were all the better for being accompanied by very professional live music which was always a delight to listen to but never drowned out conversation. The pianist was particularly good. Drink flowed plentifully, especially the champagne, always of a high standard.
Because the hotel has only 30 rooms but is set in 6 acres, we never felt crowded. In fact we often had the pool to ourselves and there was never a queue for the water sports. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back.

My husband and I just returned from a weeklong vacation with our two teenagers. What a place! Since it is one of the most established resorts here, they had their pick of the beaches. The beautiful architecture and landscaping only enhance this natural setting. No elevators, marble lobbies or fountains are necessary. The friendly staff members always remember your name and make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. They seem proud to be associated with this place and I don't blame them.

We enjoyed yoga and pilates classes in the beautiful pavilion. I haven't seen such a pretty exercise area since I traveled in Thailand. Plus the teachers were excellent. I'm not a scuba diver but the rest of my family did a fair amount of scuba arranged through the Windjammer resort (a larger and slightly louder resort) which is a short walk down the beach. The East Winds kitchen can pack a picnic lunch that will be envied by fellow divers! There was also another Scuba outfit called Scuba Steve's, I think. They can pick you up at your resort.

Other "activities" include three outstanding meals, tea time and sunset drinks. There's a lovely open air lounge area where people gather for pre-dinner cocktails. Families play board games there. Many guests can found watching the sun go down at the sunset bar. It is also possible to arrange a masseuse, mani/pedi at the hotel. Fellow guests raved about these services plus the prices seemed very fair. Of course, there was also a book "exchange" which was great. Wifi was available most everywhere except the beach but obviously, that's not why you are at East Winds. How unusual not to see one phone in the restaurant.

For accommodations, we were in bungalow 15, which was deluxe. The room had a TV, DVD player and a fabulous indoor/outdoor shower. Rooms 11-26 were perched higher than the others. If you are fit, it is fine but I planned my mornings so I wouldn't have to trek back for forgotten items! My children were in bungalow #1. It was not deluxe (no TV/DVD or amazing shower) but the location was divine because it was closer to the beach, restaurant and pool.

As another reviewer stated, this resort brings "all-inclusive" to a whole new level. No megaphones on the beaches and no feeding frenzies. Just the opposite. Many Thanks to Gareth and his team--especially Miriam, Debbie, Gurvey, Titus, Fina and Haige. We hope to return!

My wife and I went recently to East Winds with 2 teenagers (1 bungalow for parents, 1 for the youngsters). It is a charming place with very nice, smiling and nice people serving (the manager makes an excellent job at building a team atmosphere where people are happy to work).
It is extremely quiet and you can relax without being disturbed by loud music or uneducated noisy neighbors.
Some people may think that there are too many retired English people, but we actually believe that it participated to the quality of our stay (for the record, we are a French family).

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review, it is highly appreciated. Indeed I could not agree more with your comments about the many retired but active English guests, in house at this time of year..

This is a well established property in St. Lucia. All inclusive option is well worth it, as the food is excellent. The chef really showcases a masterpiece each evening. In November it was half full so you would be the only one in the pool, using the sailboat, and you got a great spot on the beach each day. Cons: to the north is a small public beach access road. On a Sunday locals stayed late and loud music continued from 4pm to 10pm. Also, this hotel is big with retired pensioners from the United Kingdom. Sometimes I felt like I was a character in an Agatha Christie novel. But it was fun none the less and being 20 years junior to most guests isn't all bad. I would highly recommend this calm oasis for about 3-4 days. And then try something more active for the rest of your stay in St. Lucia. Also the management is top notch here.

Just like the previous reviewer we have already booked to return to East Winds Inn next year following our recent first trip. The level of customer service, excellent food, beautiful surroundings and the peace & tranquility are a rare find. The staff are exceptional and go out of their way to look after you, nothing is too much trouble. They are named a couple of reviews back so I won't repeat the list here, we will just add a big thank you to Kensley for the lovely hobie cat trips and thank you to all those behind the scenes too. We are missing the early morning strolls around the beautiful gardens, lazing on the gorgeous beach and watching the sunset with a glass of champagne or a cocktail. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment, particularly Tien who played the piano and sang so beautifully whilst we savoured the gourmet food and wine. We met some lovely people and enjoyed the chats and laughs. Thank you East Winds Inn for a memorable holiday.
