Booked the 'Tranopy Zipline tour' through the Virgin Holiday rep. Minibus collected wife and I at allocated time from Hotel reception, and after 10-15 minute trip, arrived at our destination.
As we had brought a bag with us, we were required to hire a locker to put this plus any valuables in (keep your camera for the many photo and video opportunities ahead.
I cannot remember the names of our 2 guides but they were GOOD. They kitted us out with straps, harnesses, hair nets and helmets (quite a sight), fitted, checked and then divided into groups of 8. We were led to a practice line to get those that had not done a line before, familiar to the procedure.
Trams, in which you sit in twos, took us up into the higher areas of the forest, and our guide pointed out many interesting parts of the flora.
A hike down through the forest, after leaving the tram, brought us to the 1st zip line. Once connected to the 2 safety lines, you let the harness take your weight, cross your ankles , hold onto the T bar and go. Previous tours I've been on, you use a rigger's glove to control and stop yourself on the line. This time it's one of the guides who stops you.
After about 10 lines, (the last one 500ft long and a good one to finish on), we headed back up the trail to the tram for journey back to base. A complementary bottle of water, and drink in the cafe followed, and then a quick look around the gift shop. Retrieved bag from locker, returned key and headed back to resort.
Quite an experience, with video to remind us of the day.
