Description: The Cliff at Cap Restaurant was famously hailed by The New York Times and is already one of the most highly sought after tables on the island. Located on the northwest coast in one of the Caribbean's most dramatic settings overlooking the surging Caribbean Sea. The kitchen at The Cliff at Cap is overseen by Welsh born Executive Chef Craig Jones, a St Lucian Chef of the Year recipient, who serves an inspired French West Indian contemporary menu. His nouveau French West Indian cuisine elegantly presents the bounty of St Lucia's fresh local farm produce and seafood readily sourced on this tropical island. The Cliff at Cap offers unobstructed views towards Martinique to the north and Pigeon Island to the West, and surrounded by the magnificent Caribbean sea, with sunsets to die for. The restaurant is open to non residents from breakfast to dinner with a dress code of smart casual.

I can’t say enough about how great the food was here I went with a work colleague and we were blown away. The food was cooked to perfection, the taste was amazing and for what you get the price I found very reasonable. The staff were amazing and very attentive. The view is one of the best you can get especially at sunset. I can’t wait to go back with my fiancée. If you go to St Lucia even if you don’t stay at the hotel go to the restaurant it’s one of the best dining experiences you could have you will not regret it.

We knew that the view at this restaurant was not to be missed so we decided to go for Happy Hour. It was advertised in a pamphlet that the restaurant had Happy Hour at a specific time so my husband and I went to enjoy a few drinks and tidbits of food. But, when we got there we did not find anything that resembled Happy Hour. Most of the staff was not there yet. The bartender handed us the evening's menu which was a "chef's tasting menu" of Spanish tapas. We were basically told that that was all they were serving and we could take it or leave it. Since the view was so nice, we decided to go ahead with the dinner. It was $75 per person without wine or $95 per person with two glasses of wine (one white, one red). We opted to do it without the wine, though we ordered other drinks instead.

The service was cordial once the wait staff arrived. Repeatedly we were asked what time we'd asked to be served. We were confused about this because we had ordered our food. Later on in the evening it seemed that most people eating there were also staying there. We inferred that people scheduled times to be served. We were mystified because the restaurant was advertising Happy Hour (non-existent) and seemed to be trying to bring in people from outside the hotel. But, once people from outside the hotel were there (us), they didn't really know how to react. But, again, the view and the sounds of the ocean made up for this.

The food was enjoyable and creative. I wouldn't say it was the best food I had in St. Lucia, but it was in the top. We did like it, though we would have preferred to choose our food rather than have it dictated from the tasting menu.

Overall, I would go back but probably for lunch. I can tell you that there is no Happy Hour (at least not the night we went) so that is not an option. Go during the day, enjoy the view, and pay a little bit less for the food.

Thank you for your informative review of The Cliff at Cap restaurant. I just wanted to outline what we offer at the restaurant and clarify a few points which you made.
Happy Hour at the Cliff at Cap is 5.30 -7.00pm Friday to Sunday and features half price on most drinks we serve with some small exceptions. Off season it can be quieter and less busy than normal.
We definitely cater and welcome outside guests to The Cliff at Cap and we do advertise as such. We also have a couple of themed nights with different set menus on those nights. The night that you came was one such night, Our "Tapas" styled night is a theme on tapas featuring small plates for starters, mains and dessert. This menu is served with paired wines to enhance the meal. the cost of this dinner without wines is approx US$65.00 inc taxes/service charge and with wines is US$87.00 inc taxes/service charge.
On our regular nights we offer a full a la carte menu complemented with a daily changing "Simply Du Jour" menu for added variety.
We are glad that you enjoyed the service and the food which you said was in your top dining experiences in St Lucia and we would gladly welcome you again for lunch or dinner! (The view at Lunch is gorgeous)

Superb location and great views over the sea. Romantic, but crowded and noisy. difficult to get a table. The chef tries too hard and puts on a menu that is too rich and has wine inclusive but it hikes up the bill. They do an excellent Kobi Beef though!

So don't recommend it for supper, but great place for lunch. Book a table with a view over the sea. I recommend their shrimp salad. Much less pretentious for lunch and less expensive too.

Based on the trip advisor reviews, we went to Cap Maison one night for dinner. One important thing to point out. There is no view after dark. Make your reservations for early enough to enjoy it. We were not thinking and so we have no idea what everyone is raving about with regard to the view.

The food was good, but not excellent. The staff was good, the entertainment was good. Overall we had a good time and a good meal, but I couldn't rate it excellent. We were spoiled by the food at La Terrasse the night before. If we had not gone there first, I think we would have rated this higher.

The overall quality of dining experience in St Lucia this year were significantly better than prior years. It's clear the premium end of the travel market is becoming more and more prominent here. This is especially apparent at The Cliff at Cap. It's generally difficult to maintain a super premium dinning experience in St Lucia but they pull it off very well here. The location is probably the best restaurant setting on the island, the wine selection is excellent and well priced and the food is delicious. Last year we dined here and it was very good, this year it was perfect. Fresh fruit margarita was one of the best anywhere, rock shrimp risotto was to die for. If you're planning to have one nice dinner while you are on the island, this is definitely the place to go!
