“Excellent restaurant”

We visited this restaurant twice during our recent stay in Gros Islet. Excellent food and service, especially the vegetarian. Good value compared to many other restaurants.

“Great food, even better cocktails”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2010

Ate there 3 times in 10 days - Food was excellent on all occasions, especially the fish dishes. The vegetarian options were also very good and not just an add on like in many other restaurants in Rodney Bay. The service was extremely friendly and very efficient. It has a really nice vibe with lots of locals (mainly ex-pats) popping in for drinks.
My only complaint - the portion sizes were so big, I couldn't have their excellent puddings each time (the cinnamon and chilli creme caramel was divine).
Even better than the food were the very original and wide range of cocktails - I liked the fact that if they didn't have the fresh ingredients for the fruit based cocktails, they wouldn't compromise by using cheaper substitutes - the thymetini and the basil prosecco mojito became our instant favorites!

“Amazing Drinks; Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2010

While in Saint Lucia my girlfriend and I decided to go out one night for dinner and drinks at Delirius, which is located about ten minutes from Castries and is located in a hot spot of Rodney Bay where there are lots of other restaurants and bars. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted and seated at our table in the restaurant area, which was dimly lit and had music quietly playing in the background. The service we received was good in the restaurant area – the waitress took our order quickly and made recommendations for their best and most popular dishes. Unfortunately they were out of an appetizer, an entrée and mint leaves for Mojios so we had to make a few other selections from the menu.

The food was pretty good, we had scallops for an appetizer but they were kind of burnt. My girlfriend had a chicken dish and I had the balsamic pork with olives. Both of our dishes were pretty good – one weird thing was that both of our dishes were exactly the same (sides, vegetables, etc.) except for the meat. For dessert we had the crème brûlée but it was nothing to rave about.

After dinner, we migrated from the restaurant area to the bar area which was very vibrant with energetic conversations. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly and talented bartender who mixed us a variety of drinks to sample from different rums including Elements 8, Chairman’s and Admiral. The drinks were some of the best we’ve ever had, even compared to drinks from bars in the U.S. They were mixed perfectly and were delicious! The bartender was very knowledgeable and even wrote down recipes for his signature rum punch and rum sour drinks for us!

In summary, I would strongly recommend visiting Delirius specifically for the drinks one evening when you are in Saint Lucia! You can sample their food as well, but their specialty lies in their signature drinks.

“Lunch was good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2010

Ate late lunch here. We were the only ones eating. He had barracuda and seasoned fries and I had chicken in a pancetta onion sauce which was tasty and well presented. The tables are under a roof open to the street scene. There is a bar area and behind the restaurant is a deli which was expensive but allowed customers to purchase cheese, deli meat and some other items like truffle salt, tea, olive oil etc. which was not available in the local grocery store. Food was good. Never got to try supper here but looks like an extensive menu with well prepared food.

“Wow Wow Wow For value and delicious food head to Delirius!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2009

It is rare to find a bar as funky and happening as Delirius with such a fantastic restaurant too ! Since visiting the restaurant in July 09 I have been dreaming of their Pumpkin Soup: it is amazing! I brought a big group there one night (I was getting married in St Lucia) and all of our guests loved it, and many returned another night themselves because they had such a good time. The service is excellent, and it is all of the little touches that make the experience so much more than 'pub grub' but also at good value for money. I loved the ciabatta sticks with the balsamic and other dips which were served before we ordered, loved the chicken satay starter, and the burgers were delicious! My mum had the lamb, and raved about it afterwards. We had the chance to meet Michele and Duncan, the owners, who work hard alongside all of the energetic and friendly staff to ensure a fantastic buzzy atmosphere as well as great food! In Rodney Bay there are so many bars to choose from, but none of them can rival Delirius for atmosphere and good music, especially at the weekend when the mix of locals and visitors is refreshing and good fun! The bar staff are lovely, but could speed up the service at times but hey, this is the Caribbean, who is rushing? I will definitely be making Delirius my first port of call on any return visit to St Lucia, and can recommend it without reservation to any visitors!
