“The most wonderful restaurant on St Lucia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

The St Lucia artist Michelle Elliott bought this charming rundown plantation house as a studio for her beautiful painted pottery and pictures - she's opened a small restaurant and plans to restore this lovely house to its former glory. Eating home made food like chicken curry in a coconut shell with fried plantain and other local vegetables, surrounded by towering garden foliage, is an absolute delight - we loved it so much we went back again a few days later.
And the homemade lime or grapefruit juices are divine - I have to admit to leaving a little part of me there when I left!

“Colonial Caribbean Charmer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2011

a little off the tourist track but well worth finding. we visit St Lucia frequently so are eager to try new places. this has become our new favorite. located on the Morne in an historic area, the setting is beautiful, lovely grounds and comfortable dining on veranda of a Victorian plantation house. Staff is friendly but not overly so. Our meals were delicious and we loved the way the assortment of accompaniments were served family style so you could pick and choose your favorites. Sweet potatoes and plantains went fast at our table. Thanks to a suggestion by the manager, we had our coffee and desserts outside on the lawn on a shady deck. Oh and there is a small gift shop were you can buy beautiful ceramics made by one of the owners, Michelle Elliot. She and her husband also run The Coal Pot in Vigie, another of our favorites. I didn't find a website but they are on FaceBook. very different from the Rodney Bay experience.

It is opened for lunch Monday - Friday and dinner Friday night. Closed Saturday but brunch on Sunday.

“The Pink Plantation House excites your imagination”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2011

The Pink Plantation House is at the top of a hill overlooking Castries. It is pink, it was a plantation house, and it retains the charm of its past. The garden around the home abounds with orchids as does the ordhid filled pots in the restaurant's interior. Michelle Elliot has a way with orchids and they are simply beautiful. Her artistic sensibilty is seen in the decor, the tableware (which she designs), and in the presentation of your meal. Our table was on a verandah that overlooked Castries and Castries Harbour. What a spectacular place to dine. The food is as delicious as its presentation is imaginitive. When you see the sides listed - there is no "or". Your table gets a platter of all the sides for you to try. It was a great dining experience. This restaurant is well worth the trip up the mountain.

“A delightful place to have lunch and enjoy the view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2010

We've been fans of Michelle Elliot's pottery and the Coal Pot restaurant she operates with her husband for many years. When I heard Michelle bought a plantation house to use as a studio and had opened a restaurant there, we had to try it.
The house is a historic old house with gingerbread trim set in the hills overlooking Castries Harbor. Painted a striking Pink and decorated with Michelle's paintings and pottery the house serves as a unique setting where you can enjoy lunch Monday thru Friday, dinner on Friday nights and Sunday brunch. We've eaten there 5 times now and never saw another tourist. We have seen groups of women holding club meetings and proffesionals talking business over lunch.
The meal begins with fresh bakes (light and fluffy) brought to your table with butter. They offer a selection of freshly squeezed juices, soft drinks or something from the bar. Everything on the menu is made fresh on the premises and served with an assortment of delectible side dishes. The menu is definetely Carribean with a French accent. Prices might be considered a bit high for lunch but considering the generous servings and delicious dishes, we consider this place a must visit whenever we are in Castries!
Be sure to bring your camera, the harbor view and the manicured gardens are exceptional.
