I had to contact Herod numerous times however my patience was well rewarded. In Herods defense the cell service that Herod has for emails and calls is intermittent at best and it is not like he has a lot of choices for his carrier. First of all Herod had no others on his tour the day we had booked. This was not necessarily good for him however it was wonderful for the four of us me and my wife and two dear friends, he was our own very knowledgeable and fun tour guide. We had a great time with Herod. We visited a couple of shops and we had locally cooked fresh bread and treats. We made stops at banana farm and ate fresh bananas off the tree and then to a small fishing village. Then it was off to the volcano hot springs and mud bath, this is a must see while in St.Lucia. After that we were off to mom and dads for lunch. They had hot sauce that they make that you can try if you want, if you like hot sauce you must give this a try, it will light you up. Then it was off to the marina to get on the speed boat, the view of the island from the water is awesome! We went snorkeling at a beach in the bay between the Pitons there is a snorkel trail and a lot of different sights and tropical sea-life. We had a great trip and would recommend Herod's excursion for a great day in St.Lucia!

This was day day 5 of our cruise/land vacation and we were looking forward to this one. I contacted Herod via email prior to our arrival, no deposit, easily arranged out pickup at the port. This was probably one of our trip "highlights". It had been organized by one of our friendly cc mates and started with 2 families and quickly over the months grew to a much larger group.

We booked direct with Herod Land & Sea Safari, by sending him an email. As I previously mentioned, there was no deposit, just a friendly email to confirm the # of people and where we would meet up. We gathered around 9am in port, Herod was standing with a sign, waiting to meet everyone. Once everyone arrived, we headed to the parking lot where a Van and an additional car were waiting for us (we had filled up the van). The tour cost us $80.00 / person and was definitely worth the price.

A quick summation; we stopped at a couple "picture spots" overlooking various bays, a banana plantation, fishing village ( where the locals were cleaning their fresh catch and there was a few vendor stands), the drive through volcano/hot mud baths where "almost" everyone got covered in mud for cleaning purposes ( be aware this water is HOT). We headed to Herod's mom's for lunch, this was another highlight. We ate a home made buffet lunch out on a beautiful porch on a hill overlooking St. Lucia's scenery. After lunch, iut was time to head to a beach, via a small water taxi. It was a quick ride over. The beach here was a little rocky, but the water was super clear. Just a small swim from the beach was a roped off "snorkel" spot. I do have to say, this was one of the best "off beach" snorkel spots I have been at, there were many colorful fish and coral. After a quick dip and some snorkeling, our ride back to the ship arrived. We gathered up our belongings and headed back. Along the way, we got some good pictures of the Pitons from the water, Oprah's house, Mic Jaggers house, and a few other picture worthy spots. We got back to the ship with plenty of time to spare, no rushing, did a little shopping at the port and got back on.

Hopefully you found this review helpful, and I would definitely recommend this tour, whether visiting on land or arriving by sea.

Fabulous Land and Sea Safari with Herod. Best way to see St Lucia. Saw how bananas grow on a plantation. Bananas were delicious along with the banana chips. Many photo opportunities during the day. The bakery bread was warm and yummy. Lunch was at Herod's parents home. The lunch was so delicious and his Mom was so gracious to share her home with us. The water taxi was the way to go back to the ship. It was great fun to see the sites along the way. A must!

We met some fellow cruise critic members who turned us on to Herod's tour. I'm a guy who hates the typical look out the window to your left and right tour that seems to be in every cruise destination. This ain't it.
Herod is very intelligent and fun. He was a 5th grade teacher before starting his company.

He picked us up at the cruise ship and toured the island on the way to the banana fields. (He provides complimentary Piton Beer, water, soft drinks, and THE BEST RUM PUNCH during the tour.)
A banana fresh from the tree is amazing. My wife and son had their pictures taken holding a boa constrictor. (Our 9 year old loved this)
We then went to the volcanic sulfur mud bath. Lot's of fun. (Bucket list check mark) There is a changing room and showers at the baths.
Starting to feel a bit hungry as group pulled up to Herod's Mom's beautiful home. The home is on a hill landscaped with tropical trees and flowers. We were served a buffet lunch on the covered front patio/porch. The porch has lovely views of the mountains and the food was great. (Think catered lunch at an event.)
We then visited a small fishing village before taking a water taxi to a cove below the Pitons where we snorkeled. The cove was full of colorful fish and a few crabs. (Changing area and showers provided)

Having had a full day of adventure we were really impressed when our group was picked up in a speed boat for a SUPER FUN and FAST trip back around the island directly to the cruise ship.

This was by far the best tour we have ever been on. (Our 4th cruise in a year)

Great trip for families, teens, couples young or not so young.
