This is one of those Caribbean gems that you read about other people finding and staying at - and then wish it had been you. For our family of 4 this was perhaps our best island experience, and we have visited many.
Gracious is a word that best describes our entire experience at Villa Beach Cottages. The entire staff on the grounds just seem to make your day better is so many little ways - you just have to experience it yourself. Whether it is suggestions on what to see, where to go and even how to get there, its all easy, friendly and enjoyable. Even lounging around by the pool or on the deck for hours at a time or walking the beach right before you, this is one relaxing vacation. We'll be back next March!

My family of 4, including 2 boys ages 16 and 6, spent the week of March 13-20, 2005 at this establishment on the beach at Choc Bay. We had a wonderful time. The proprietor, Colin Hunte, is a well-spoken and well educated man with a delightful sense of humor and sound advice about what to do or not do in St. Lucia. His staff are friendly and forthcoming with any assistance required. You will be hard put to find a friendlier group of people, complete with spontaneous pearls of wisdom which they happily share with you. This is a very good place for families...comfortable bedrooms, a kitchen, a TV, a small living area. There is a small pool and the beach is just the other side of the retaining wall. No snorkeling here...but decent swimming and beach walking. A place for people who don't like to "swim in a roped-off sea." This is NOT a big fancy resort with every conceivable amenity, nor will you find an entertainment director to tell you what to do or take your children off your hands. And if you are the haughty type...well...look somewhere else. But this modest place is unhurried, clean, and quite pleasant in appearance. And the small kitchen has more supplies than many other similar establishments will provide. Only the 2-bdr suites do not face the ocean. We could take a taxi to anywhere we wanted to go. Not cheap, mind you, but it beats taking responsibility for a rental car on the somewhat treacherous roads of St. Lucia. My whole family would gladly return here any day. And if you come here, you may experience what my 16 yr old did, while dozing peacefully in a hammock overlooking the sea..to have another gentleman guest lift up my son's baseball cap off his face and enquire "Have you found Paradise?" To which my son replied "Yes" and promptly pulled the cap back down on his face and returned to sleep.

Villa beach deserves more than a rating of five. Where we stayed was the best part about our vacation. They tell you when you arrive you are like family to everyone (the staff AND THE OTHER GUESTS!) and that is exactly how you are treated the entire vacation. The views are spectacular. Everything is so convenient from your excursions to water sports to eating. This was our first time, and we are planning to come back next year.

I would recomend staying at the Villa Beach Cottages if you are planing on going to St. Lucia. My partner and I had a great time. The appartments are lovely. Couldn't ask for anything more. We atayed in the Honeymoon villa and then another later in the week and both were of high standard and I spend a lot of my time in hotels. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Very quiet and all you can hear are the waves. If you want the quiet holiday then this is the place for you.
Good location for Castries, Rodney Bay & Gros Islet.

I plan on coming back to St. Lucia and will be booking my stay at the Villa Beach cottages.
Highly recomended.

Many years ago when we visited St Lucia and Villa Beach Cottages, we fell in love with the island, the villas, and the people. Unfortunately, as life goes, we were unable to return until this year. Sometimes it's hard to go back -- not so in this case. Amazingly it was even better!

At the airport, Cuthbert Charles greeted us as old friends and efficiently (and safely!) transported us from Vieux Fort across the island to Choc Bay and into the capable arms of Colin Hunte's (owner and manager) exceptional staff. We were lucky enough to be assigned the Nobel Cottage (#3), one of the older beach villas. The cottage is charming, carefully outfitted with creature comforts whilst maintaining its original integrity(including Derek Wolcott prints gracing the walls).

Upon arrival we were, of course, immediately drawn to the sea wall (steps away from the cottage) to gaze out over the crashing Caribbean, witnessing the first of many glorious sunsets. Fellow visitors in neighboring cottages greeted us, and we quickly became a comfortable part of the Villa Beach family.

Colin visits each of his guests daily sharing valuable information about the island. With his guidance, we were able to experience many facets of island life. His restaurant recommendations were flawless (Try Laurel's -- a VERY local spot -- not for the faint of heart -- for fabulous local fare, or have Clara cook for you at the villas.); Listen to his advice for sightseeing (Cuthbert and Moses are fabulous guides, or rent a car from Coconut Car Rental -- at the Villas -- and brave the roads yourself); And if you have a chance, visit (and spend the night) at LaDauphine Estate, Colin's other property (a plantation on the other end of the island). There you will have a very different "island" experience.

To say that St. Lucia and Villa Beach Cottages are idyllic is an understatement. It was very hard to leave our friends behind. Colin, Nadia, Neva, Sharon, Melanie, Clara, Maura, Cuthbert, and Moses -- you do your island proud ... We will return.

Last Sept we decided to visit St Lucia to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. After much scrutinising of the Internet we discovered Villa Beach Cottages - well recommended by previous visitors. From the first contact with Nadia and Neva via emails, we were assured of a warm, helpful and friendly service unequalled anywhere else we have visited in the Caribbean. The standard of our accommodation and facilities were excellent and the views from the balcony absolutely beautiful. The staff were always friendly, informative and were able to gauge the needs of their clients very well. After our chat with Colin we set off to explore the sights and culinary delights recommended to us. We were not disappointed. The views from Dasheen’s restaurant were fabulous and the food delicious. Suffice to say we did not manage to do everything in our week but we left wanting more.

My husband and I recently returned from a week in St Lucia at the Villa Beach Cottages. We had a terrific vacation and were very impressed with the island and its scenic beauty.

Hats off to Colin Hunt, the owner/manager of Villa Beach Cottages, and his entire staff for running a very sweet, very special hotel.

If you are considering a visit to St Lucia, stay at Villa Beach Cottages. They'll take good care of you. I guarantee it!
