My wife and I just returned from a weeks honeymoon at Villa Beach. We cannot say enough about this place. The staff were very friendly and accommodated our every wish. They made all of the arrangements for the excursions we wanted to try. They have a car rental company on site and you can rent for a week or even just a day. The rental fee is very reasonable. We stayed in the honeymoon villa which is two floors and two patios. It is a stand alone building. The amenities are great. The bed was very soft, the bathroom was well appointed and the timbered ceiling was beautiful. Villa Beach does not have a restaurant, but each villa has a full kitchen. My wife and I ended up cooking most of our meals and we enjoyed eating them on the upstairs patio watching the sunset. There is a big supermarket about a 5 minute walk, so getting supplies is easy. The entire property is very quiet. We found it very easy to unwind and relax. They also have 24 hour security who patrol the grounds. These guys are very friendly and quick to shoo away any locals who approach you on the beach to try and sell you something. Don't get me wrong, the beach is very quiet and this doesn't happen often, just once in a while. But when it does, the guys are right there to tell the local to leave their guests alone. My wife and I will certainly come back. The cottages do not have a fitness center but I gave it 5 stars anyway because the ocean is only 20 steps away and swimming is a great workout.

Room Tip: If you are going on your honeymoon, rent the honeymoon cottage. It is a stand alone building and very private.

The Villa Beach Cottages met all of our wishes for accommodation for our vacation on St Lucia. It is very close to Castries but Rodney Bay is also very accessible. We rented a car through the hotel. The beach and bay were perfect. The view from our second floor balcony was wonderful. We kayaked to the small island just off the shore one afternoon and was able to look back at the cottages from the water - beautiful!
The cottage was generally clean and stocked with kitchen necessities. Super J grocery stores are abundant to self-service meals at the cottage. Our unit looked exactly like the pictures on the website including the small uncomfortable couch and single chair. The balcony was more comfortable than the living area inside.
There is no AC unit for the living room so you either froze in the bedrooms so you could stand to sit in the living room or you sat outside on the balcony. There were lovely breezes, just not enough to cool the living area even with the front door and all the windows open. The wireless WiFi signal was very weak and the cable went out the last 2 days of our stay. The desk clerk was most helpful answering all our questions - we did not meet with "Mr. Hunt" the manager as it seemed he was only in the office from 9:30 am - 1 pm and we were out and about during those times. We had been told that "Mr. Hunt" would go over all our options but with his limited schedule and the helpfulness of the desk clerk we didn't miss him. The restaurant next door called The Wharf appeared to be closed and there are no restaurants or shopping within safe walking distance - you could walk but there are no sidewalks and a lot of traffic! The cottages are located on a main and busy road. The traffic noise could be heard occasionally but it wasn't obtrusive. At night all we heard was the waves.
We were concerned that since it was just down the beach from a Sandals resort our beach area would be crowded but we rarely saw more than 4 or 5 other people on the beach all day (this was in early June, shoulder season).
My daughter & I traveled separately from my husband and when his plane was delayed the hotel arranged for a taxi to pick him up from the airport (90 minutes away) later that night. When my husband arrived he told me he had to pay $80 for the taxi trip. We spoke to the front desk clerk because I had specifically asked her if I needed to pick up my husband since we had rented a car through the hotel or if they would provide transportation for him. There was a miscommunication and she believed my daughter and I would not want to make the 3 hour round trip at night to pick him up - however she didn't phrase her response in that manner she just said the hotel had arranged for a taxi to pick him up. So we pointed out to her that we were not aware the taxi was going to cost us $80 and she needed to be more up front what the hotel's "services" were going to cost. She agreed to get us a discount on the taxi trip and later she did not charge us for the kayak rental. Laundry service was $5/load to wash and $5/load to dry. A little expensive but they have a captive market. Laundry soap, however, was provided.
We rented the basic car and the vehicle we got was very small 4-door 'Spark'. At least it was an automatic transmission. It had a loose belt that squeaked and a bearing going out that roared. It was severely underpowered for the hilly roads but it got us around the island twice. If we had to do it again we would pay extra for a 4 wheel drive vehicle if just for the security of mind on the steep roads especially some of the side roads we took to the Gros Piton.
We had a Groupon Discount for the Villa Beach Cottages so we got an Ocean view room for the price of a non-view room. Overall it was a good value and the service was good. It is a beautiful location and it had everything we wanted.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the second floor for the breezes.

We decided we wanted to go to St Lucia and started looking around for a place to stay. The beauty of the cottages caught our eye and each time we looked at another place, we kept coming back to Villa Beach Cottages. The location is great, they offer everything you would want except for an all inclusive meal and drink package if that is what you are looking for. We never do all inclusive so that didn't mater. When we visit a place, we like to explore the area and get the local flavor of the differant restaurants, bars and grocery stores. The cottage was fully equipped for cooking in which we like to do for breakfast and sometimes a lunch. The owner, Colin Hunte, paid us a personal visit and went over everything about the property along with all of the attactions and restaurants on the lsland. We took a ground level 1 bedroom cottage which we loved because we could walk off our patio into the pool or hot tub. The beach was only a few steps away. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. They handled every request very quickly and we left with the impression that they felt like they just could not do enough for you. We love our stay here and would recommend it to anyone that wants to find a little paradise amongst the palm trees. The price was a great value for the dollar.

Room Tip: The rooms on the second floor have a better view of the Caribbean but the rooms on the ground floor are just one step off the patio and you are at the pool and just a few more steps from the beach. We didn't have any issues with noise or water pressure. The AC kept the rooms cool on either floor (we visited some of the other guests).

I told my son if planned a vacation for my husband and myself he could go. He researched and came up with Villa Beach Cottages and he did a great job. We loved it here. The place is beautiful and the service was wonderful, The women at the front desk were extremely helpful making car reservations, dinner reservations, and researching sites for us to visit. Colin gave us great advice as to where to go for meals and fun. We fell like we didn't miss anything. We were disappointed in the underwater life as there was little to see because of damage from Hurricane Thomas in 2010. We snorkeled and chose not to dive. However, we spent much more time above the ocean this vacation and the island is beautiful. The flowers were spectacular with a lot of variety. We went to the botanical gardens, the waterfall, and the mud baths with a driver/guide set up by the resort and had a fantastic trip!! This is a must do! We also climbed Gros Piton which was a difficult climb but very rewarding, Enjoy!

We had previously stayed at Bay Gardens Beach Resort and loved it. This time we wanted more of the private "villa feel" and found it at the cottages. We had our own patio with table & chairs, fully stocked kitchen, spacious bath and privacy. I don't think we saw more than 10 guests the whole time we were there. Colin, the owner, did go out of his way to give us pointers as this was our second time in St. Lucia. He was right on. Very clean, friendly staff, all made for a relaxing week. Pool, and beach at your back door.

Room Tip: You can have chefs make a gourmet dinner and have it delivered to your room. Price included appetizers, entree, dessert and wine. Staff books dinner reservations for you also in Castries, or Rodney Bay.
