We went early summer, but we are now looking to go away again and thought we should write a review on Rendezvous. We loved it! From the start, we were greeted with a nice cold cocktail and a cool towel as we stepped out of our taxi. We were quickly shown around and found our room which was fantastic. The room had a private porch and a hammock right in front--very private and secluded (garden view). The grounds were well groomed and the beach was clean. We found that there seemed to be the perfect number of guests, not too much to be overcrowned, not to little to feel you were by yourself. The drinks were great (however, sometimes you have to wonder how much alcohol is actually poured in them)...I think by the end of the vacation we consumed about 100 bannans mixed of course with rum! The meals were fine. Not great, but we weren't really expecting great. The dinning areas were casual and there was always plenty to choose from each day. We loved the "theme" dinners (Italian, etc.,) The shows were good--a nice break each night. The staff was superb! Especially Deano and Calvin! The activities were great...definetly try the scuba diving! The town is awful don't even waste your time...buy your souveniers at the resort gift shop (the people are all over you like ants and you constantly feel uncomfotable just being there). We just loved lounging by the water, sipping our drinks and doing absolutely nothing!

My husband and I have just returned from Rendevous, and had an amazing time. The friendly staff and attention to detail across the board was impressive. A real effort was made in every area to make it a special and memorable holiday. The food was fantastic with every night having a different 'theme' so you didnt have the chance to get bored with the menu. Including one Beach BBQ night, where tables and chairs were set out on the beach along with all the food, and a steel band played under the stars! Great! The drinks were all very good quality although we also thought the wine had probably been decanted into bottles! The cocktails both alcoholic and not were delicious! There was plenty to do with activities and lessons every day and they were never crowded, staff encouraged you to join in on competitions and games, but were quite happy if you jusy wanted to lie in the sun like I did! Our rooms were beautiful, clean and modern, very spacious. We had seen some reports online regarding the Garden rooms being rather shabby and old, and were worried as this is what we had booked, but when we got there we had been upgraded to a Seafront room, as all the Garden Rooms are currently being totally refurbished, good news!! Also some reviews mention 'issues' with locals using the beaches at the weekends. We did notice that there was more traffic on weekends, but it was all very friendly, and the hotel has 2/3 security guards walking around the beach on all days (I think probably to discourage hawkers) and so you always felt perfectly safe. Around the hotel there are lots of romantic and private places to hang out and chill, 2 hot tubs, loads of hammocks for two, swing seats on the beach over looking the sunset, and the Terrace bar and restaurant are an amazingly chilled place to just sit and watch the sea. I would highly highly recommend Rendevous, in all respects!

Just returned from a Thanksgiving week's stay at the Rendezvous. There was a minor problem at check-in where our room type was not available the first night, so they upgraded us to a seaside cottage for that night as well as left us several goodies in the room for the inconvenience. On Sunday we moved to our luxury oceanfront room which we actually preferred--better location, layout roomier (too big of a bed for the space in the seaside cottage). The ground floor rooms have an extra patio area, and we didn't have as much airplane noise as the top floor rooms--definitely the way to go. In fact, we had more noise from the chirping frogs at night than we did from the airplanes! The resort, while older, is beautifully landscaped, and the beach area is quite nice for St. Lucia. Note the ocean water is murky, but the waves are big enough to ride if you like to bodysurf. We never had a problem finding chaises in the shade, although we don't think the resort was fully booked. In fact, it looked like they were actively working on some of the garden rooms in the back. We had a lot of rain, much more than we thought we would for the tail end of the rainy season, but we just hopped in the pool or the ocean (you're going to get wet anyway, right?) The buffet food was ok, nothing great, but our night at the Trysting place was very elegant and quite tasty. The Beach BBQ was probably our favorite night in the buffet area. Get there early if you want a table on the beach. Drinks flowed freely, the bars were well staffed, and in the evening the terrace bar also had self-service wines and champagne. We highly recommend the catamaran trip sponsored by the dive shop--2 dives for my scuba spouse, and snorkeling at the same time for me, a good option for the "split" couple. We also enjoyed the trip to Soufriere booked through the tour desk.
Our overall impression of the resort was that it is not as fancy as other Caribbean resorts we've visited, and there are definitely some areas that are showing their age, but then again Rendezvous doesn't have the price tag of those fancy resorts either. What matters is that we had a great time, and in our opinion the resort is a great value (over $1K less than Sandals when we booked our trip).

From the moment we walked into the reception area, until the day that we checked out (8 days later)...we were treated like special guests AND FRIENDS. The staff is the nicest group of folks I've ever encountered in the Caribbean. My wife and I have traveled to 12 different Caribbean Islands and always tried to stay in very good - to - excellent resorts. While this one may not have had the best beach, best food, best rooms, EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! We had an all-inclusive plan and nothing was ever questioned or withheld. We've stayed in 5 star resorts where the beach towels were treated like valuable treasures ("you can only have 2...bring your old ones back and we'll exchange them...you must sign out for your towels...if you don't get them back we'll be forced to charge your room...") NONE OF THAT FOOLISHNESS HERE!!! TAKE 10 TOWELS IF YOU WANT!!! This is the first resort where everything is NO PROBLEM...What a delight!!! Make sure you go to the staff talent show and eat at least once in the Trysting Place. Want a drink on the beach -> just raise A flag next to your <a href=

We just returned from an 8 night stay. It was wonderful. We have visited this resort before and not much has changed. Fortunatly we landed at Vigie and only had a 3 minute transfer. You step off the plane into a wall of heat. When you arrive they present you with a cool towel and a rum punch. If you are lucky enough to arrive in the evening you will see all the mature foliage lit up - it's stunning. The air conditioning in the rooms work well if turned all the way down - though a bit noisy - you adjust. We had an oceanfront luxury room - maid service was great, view even better. The 6:10 flight out of vigie was my alarm clock but i am an early riser anyway. Food in the Terrace Restuarant always plentiful and very good; Trystin nice , fancy presentation and well air conditioned. Nightly entertainment always good, drinks abound. Make use of your flag on the beach. Sun very hot. We renewed our vows and the staff was wonderful. Champagne flows. Mulitple weddings a day but you never feel rushed. The Registra who performs the service is great. Very animated. You can tell she loves what she does. Nice surprise when you return to your room. Spa service are excellent - look for Antonia she is great. The staff really friendly and looks to please. Boy do those caribbean boys love to dance. Water sports fun - water itself cloudy at the beach but if you go out a bit it is clearer and very warm- mid 80's. Pool bar a great way to relax and wash off the salt from the sea. Haggle with the beach vendors. The locals really don't push the issue if you are not interested. Shopping trip into Castries - if your from the US watch while crossing the streets - they drive like madman. You can bicycle in if you have nerves of steel - we took an air conditioned taxi for a total of 16.00 us dollar - much better. The age range is from early 20's to mid 60's. Everyone does their own thing. Nice intimate resort - lowrise and very friendly. Relaxation and privacy paramount. Glad we went.

This is a lovely hotel we would recommend it to any one who was thinking of going to St Lucia. We stayed for 10 days in October and upgraded our room to a Garden room, which was the best thing we have ever done. Our room was within 2 meters of the beach and 5 meters to the restaurants and bar, with a giant four-poster bed and its own decked area with hammock. The only drawback would be the entertainment in the evening, which was poor, but it is ideal to be able to relax at the bar and have a few drinks. The restaurant and food were really good as was the water sports facilities and the staff were really friendly. Very romantic hotel.

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to this resort and loved it. That was until our last night at the hotel. The resort is all-inclusive but has a special menu you pay extra for and its very romantic. So for our last meal we spent an extra $100 to get food poisoning. The resort failed to let people know that we had scheduled this dinner and did not have it prepared. So they made the dinner quicker than they should have and my husband spent our first night back home in the ER. It has been almost a month since this occurred and after numerous emails and phone call I have not heard from the resort. So I would love to recommend this hotel but after an $1,800 ER bill and 7 days of sick leave taken and not even a phone call to say how sorry they are I cannot recommend this resort.
