Spent a day at Rendezvous a month ago while on holiday at Le Sport. We had friends with us and wanted to introduce them to a less ‘stuffy’ resort and this really fitted the bill. We have previously spent 2 two week holidays at this resort in 2001 and 2002.

Although Rendezvous doesn’t have a ‘grand’ entrance or reception area, the welcome was very warm. The resort was only half full so a bit quiet when we were there.

We had an extremely nice lunch and met a few staff members whom have been there for years. The beach/pool bar guy was new to us but very welcoming.

The dive staff were awesome and looked after us really well, we all had a lovely dive with them.

The air conditioned Trysting Restaurant was just as nice as we’d remembered. The food, service and staff were totally top notch with no added supplements to pay even though I ate seafood and steak! (Le Sport charges extra for these!)

If circumstances had permitted, we would have moved to Rendezvous for our 2nd week but as our friends were leaving in 3 days, it wouldn’t have been worth our while. We would have been happy to give our inclusive spa treatments a miss in favour of included boat dives (apart from Marine Park) to stay at this very friendly resort.

We were frankly amazed to find that the Scuba Shop is still in the same state as it was in 2001! It was promised a refurb a very long time ago! A crying shame!

The weather was particulary 'iffy' the day of our visit so went for a walk. We had never found the nearby cemetery to be a problem so took the time to visit it properly and found it a very profound experience.

We feel very blessed to have travelled extensively and although have stayed at better resorts on other islands, I would still go back to this resort as it has a very special warm vibes with exceptional staff and would always recommend this to my friends.

We selected our stay in Rendezvous, St Lucia from a range of Caribbean hotels featured as part of a "buy one, get one free" offer in a national UK newspaper. We had always wanted to travel to StLucia and this was the ideal opportunity to do it on a budget.

Was a little concerned we would get no sleep from previous reviews stating the hotels close proximity to George FL airport.

However, the airport mainly caters for inter-island propeller flights, there is the odd Lear jet taking off and landing, but the noise only lasts a few seconds and we didnt find it intrusive at all,..in fact, watching the planes only added to the feeling of "being on holiday!".

We arrived at Rendezvous (after an arduous journey by coach from the airport) to be greeted with cold towels and a complimentary Rum punch.

Moving swiftly on to to the room! Ours was a "standard" garden-view room. I found the size of the room to be more than adequate, with extremely comfortable kingsize beds and full bath and shower facilities. We mentioned on booking we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and were greeted with a bottle of champagne on ice, fruit , and a bed beautifully decorated with exotic flowers. They even put a flower arrangement in our bathroom!

The hotel is ideally located .. far away enough from the hurly and burly of Castries to be peaceful , yet a short journey by taxi or bus into the Town. "Pointe Seraphim" is well worth a visit for duty-free shopping.

Staff at Rendezvous made our stay unforgettable, always on hand and willing to please, everyone from bar/waiting staff to the animation team. Won't mention names.. too many to mention, but all did an excellent job!

If you go here for food and drinks on the all-inclusive package you will not be disappointed! Buffet restaurant caters for even the fussiest eaters, of which I am one! Theme nights cover French to Mexican to Italian to Caribbean to BBQ..however no chips, which was good in a way as it saved my waistline a little! Food was always fresh and ample.

But the jewel in the crown was the Trysting restaurant , the a la carte, you have to book in advance, food is excellent and you even get your own personal wine-waiter!

The all inclusive drinks are top notch: all international branded spirits, wines and even champagne! It was lovely to enjoy my favourite tipple of Malibu & Baileys in the Piano Bar at the end of a perfect evening!

Please note this hotel is not 5-star ,or does it pretend to be. It does not have minimalist, cutting-edge design and nouvelle cuisine . The public areas in particular could benefit from some refurbishment. But in no way does this detract from the ambience and equalled-to-none friendliness of everyone in the lace, both staff and fellow guests. Made plenty of friends, and a few tears were shed on departure!

Splashed out on a helicopter transfer back to the airport, not cheap, but the perfect end to a perfect holiday,...dipping low between the 'Pitons' was awesome!

Saving up to return next year, and hope to 'rendezvous' again!!

We stayed for 2 weeks in early October and had a great holiday. Our aim was to relax and enjoy the Carribean. The hotel, food and range of drinks on offer was excellent, the service was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Absolutely spot on. The weather however wasn't brilliant (it was hot and wet!) but there was always something to do if you wanted to. No pressure though. 4pm was when the volleyball started and most evenings there was a large group throwing themselves around in the sand. Plenty of the hotels entertainment staff playing too. Great fun. I've read some comments about litter on the beach, low flying aircraft etc etc but you should not let this stop you from booking, any negatives (and there can be negatives in most places if you choose to look) are far outweighed by the positives.
Abiding memories, Trystings Restaurant (great food), Beach Volleyball and the friendliness of the staff.

This hotel is PERFECT. Contrary to what people say there is only a little mess on the beach and every morning there are people clearing up and raking the sand from about 05.30. All the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent serving practically anything you could want (all you had to do was ask). My wife is very fussy with food and she never had any problems finding something to eat, she especially liked the Italian night as she loves pasta. The daytime entertainment is good and if you don't want to participate you don't need to, say no thanks and they are gone and won't hassle any more. The evening entertainment is always good and there are some very good entertainers. We stayed in the Seaside Suites and although we did get bitten to death by Mosquito's this still couldn't of spoiled our holiday. Already waiting for the prices to come out for April 2010 and will be going back again. On one occasion we got the bus to Point Seraphine, this was an experience and one i would happily do again as the people are so friebdly and they will explain which bus to get and from where. Also he taxis are very reasonably priced as we had so many bags to carry it was easier to get the taxi from outside the mall. All in all this was a perfect holiday and not only will go back we are going back.

I read a lot of good reviews, and a few bad ones before I came to visit. So I just thought wait and see. Overall I had a good time. The weather was a major factor, it rained a few days that I was there. And the electric went one evening and a generator was on for a few hours but I was still tired and jet lagged and so I think it wound me up more because I was tired and grumpy. I stayed in a luxury oceanfront room and thought it was alright/ even though there was a mysterious leak on the bathroom floor, but this was very minor. The planes did not bother me.

The staff was wonderful, always pleasant and attentive, special shout out to colin, he was great. The food was lovely and the beach was sound as, and any bits of rubbish that might land on the beach are cleared away in the morning. I was very happy on the whole but would advise people to come to the island out of rainy season. If you did this it would be perfect. definitely stay again, but is more suited for honeymooners, anniversaries etc. It is not super upmarket but as a reviewer has already said it is very homely feeling and I was sad to leave

Hi all
We stayed here for 11 nights from the 3rd October. (Well we had to stay in Martinique the first night but never mind).

When we got to the Rendezvous we were greeted by a guest who said what a wonderful place it was (the guest wasn't even being paid for this) and this is what we found throughout the whole stay. The staff and other guests were all really nice and friendly. We met people who were returning to the Rendezvous they loved it so much.

The rum punch to begin with was nice and strong and I took it to my room to sip whilst we settled in. If you're celebrating anything they'll also have champagne waiting for you though it is included at the bar whenever you want it.

There was plenty to do. We arrived just as mixology had finished and got straight in the pool and met some tipsy guests who were having a great time. This was a great ice breaker and really gave us a good impression that people were having fun at this hotel and from the time we got there we were too!

I had a diving lesson, a water skiing lesson (which my boyf filmed...oh dear!) and a hobie cat lesson. We took a kayak and hobie cat out most days which as we aren't the sunbathing types was great to have something inclusive to do. We went on the inclusive cycle ride to Castries to get some souvenirs (apparently the prices go up if there's a cruise ship in but there wasn't when we were there). We went bottom sea fishing with Gaston and had an archery lesson and tournament too. When it rained Markel set up a ring tossing competition a few times and asked for all the 'tossers' to line up which was hilarious. The staff come across very innocent at times! My boyf Matt joined in the volleyball game three times while we were there, getting bruised but that's men for you!

We went to the Trysting four times which was worth dressing up for but we really really liked the buffet anyway. The service was still a really high standard even though it was a buffet and the food was amazing. Matt really enjoyed the Caribbean night (with jerk chicken and suckling pig). Every breakfast you can order the special or whatever you want and get continental breakfast and fruit from the buffet. The local cat had kittens while we were there which was fantastic. We just hope they are ok.

There were two or three stray dogs around who were friendly but would leave you alone if you didn't stroke them. The two cats lounged around sometimes going for the odd pidgeon so they were good to deter the birds plus we love cats anyway. We did see a horse with a limp on the beach and it did go in the sea but I again thought that was really nice to see. It was hot there and the poor horse was probably sweltering too. We went in the sea everyday and the pool most days. The sea was really warm. It was murky and we couldn't snorkel right outside the front but there was plenty more to do. In the rainy season debris does wash into the sea. We went and looked and the debris was mostly coconuts and wood and the odd crisp packet and archery arrow! We got on a kayak and would go and have a look at the debris.

The planes overhead never bothered us. Some were really small planes and were gone in a few seconds.

The staff were the best, trying to learn your name and serve drinks quickly. The beach flag system does work.

We went on the Brig Unicorn sunset cruise which was really good with a steel band playing. We would recommend this.

We loved it so much we've started a facebook group called R*A*S*T*A - there's more pictures on there.

It's not a four or five star sofitel or hilton like you get in England, Maybe if you want that I've heard Le Sport or Sandals are more aesthetically pleasing/ikea/habitat style. The rooms, gardens, pool, staff, activities, trips, food, views etc etc were all fantastic and we will definitely go back in 1 - 2 years we hope!!!

The grounds are quite nice.

The staff was great.

Rooms are on the small side. The facility could use some TLC.

That beach shown in most pictures is less than clean. After every rain, and there was a lot of rain, debris washes into the little "bay" from Castries and onto the shore making a big mess. We, four of us, never went into the ocean water the entire two weeks. There even were locals washing horses in the surf adjacent to the dining area, the Terrace, not a real enjoyable picture.

I haven't read all 300 plus reviews but in the reviews I have read no one has mentioned that the Rendezvous sits almost directly at the end of the runway for George Charles Airport. Flights begin about 6:55 am and end at roughly dusk and fly directly overhead. The aircraft are of the turboprop variety so the noise is minimal compared to jet aircraft but still quite annoying at times. For our friends it seemed almost like home since they live close to the airport in Burbank, CA. So why leave home? At certain times depending on wind conditions, jet fuel exhaust flows over the resort.

The food was very plentiful and interesting but not great, of course it is difficult when everything is buffet style. All-in-all cleanliness was good.

We greatly appreciated the fact that it is an adult only facility. There were several weddings during our stay that brought smiles to most everyone.

All of that having been said we might even return someday.
