“A wonderful experience”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

My wife and I visited this resort and found it to be exceptional. I read many of the reviews before going and honestly would have to downplay any of the negative comments about this resort. The staff were wonderful, No one can control weather and wind, anyone can have a slightly off day. The airport nearby is not an issue at all. This resort has excellent food with great variety. There are things to do if you choose to and no one will force your hand if you chose not to. The location and scenery are lovely. The scuba diving and dive staff are wonderful and there are ample water sports all included in the package. The evenings generally have entertainment should you wish to partake. The resort is small by comparison to Sandals and other large chains and it is therefore quieter and much more personal and intimate. We will very likely return to this resort and that is a rare comment or commitment on our behalf to any resort. The helicopter transfer between airports is a great way to save time and enjoy amazing scenery.

Room Tip: The Luxury beach rooms are in my opinion the nicest rooms. We stayed in a garden room for one night...

My boyfriend and I decided to go on our first holiday together. We don't have any children and were looking for winter sun, rest, relaxation, luxury and generally a laid back holiday with other like-minded guests with good food an added bonus. We found exactly what we were looking for at the Rendezvous. The transfer from the main airport to Castries is approx 40mins and is an interesting drive, not only because of the fantastic views but the St Lucian roads and the St Lucian driving style! We were slightly concerned when the transfer minibus drove up to a hotel entrance very close to a small local airport, located close to the local cemetery and just off a very busy road! The hotel really doesn't look much from the entrance but once you get inside you are transported to an oasis of calm.
The hotel is perfectly positioned on the beach which is a public beach but the locals are very respectful of the hotel guests’ space and you always feel safe. You can eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking the sea, it’s wonderful. You can also enjoy afternoon tea (this really is a must, the cinnamon buns are fantastic) or pre-dinner cocktails overlooking the beach. The small airport really is nothing to worry about as there are only approx five planes a day and they are quite fun to watch. You cannot hear the road from the hotel. The all-inclusive package is a must. You can enjoy champagne in the bar included in all-inclusive or pay extra in the air-conditioned champagne bar. The food, whilst not the very best I have ever eaten, is very good, with a wide choice and lots of fish and local dishes and theme nights including a beach BBQ which is good fun. The fine dining restaurant is worth a visit (you are limited to 2 visits per stay) and is air conditioned for when you need a break from the warmth of the restaurant overlooking the beach. During the day you can get as involved as you wish in the programme of activities or simply sit by the beach / pool relaxing and generally soaking up the atmosphere. There are two pools, both very different but both worth a visit. The staff are friendly, helpful and very well presented. The entertainment in the evenings is a bit hit and miss but you can take your drinks back to your balcony for a more relaxed evening if it’s not your cup of tea.
We stayed in one of the seaside suites. They are lovely rooms with four poster beds and large bathrooms. They are single storey and overlook the pool and sea.
Walks along the beach in either direction are a nice break in the afternoon and a trip to Castries is worth it. You can walk but you can also take the bus to Castries. The bus stop is very close to the hotel entrance, the hotel reception staff can point you in the right direction. There is no timetable and the “buses” are actually small minibuses / people carriers. Jump in, find a seat and pay the driver once you reach your destination. Be aware that during your visit to Castries most of the locals will assume you are visiting from the cruise boat if there is one docked in the harbour at the same time.
Finally, and I am sure you will not want to think about this before you go on your holiday, but the Rendezvous has an excellent departure lounge for use to freshen up before your flight home. It is above the gym and keys to the lockers can be obtained from reception.
All in all this was a wonderful holiday and provided a wonderful start to a very special relationship with my boyfriend. Perfect!

My husband and I stayed at the Rendezvous for 10 days in March 2013. Weather was perfect, little spinkles of rain in the mornings but usually clear all afternoon and the rain lasted 5 minutes most.
Beach- beautiful, you can swim no problem, sand lovely
Scuba on the resort- very easy to sign up, staff friendly and professional. Lincoln, Chris and Luigi were excellent along with the boat captain. Trips were all interesting especially diving the Wreck.
Restaurant-Terrace was lovely, open air. Food was delicious-especially the wonderful breads, and chocolate deserts. Fish dishes delicious. As many guests travel from the UK, many dishes had an English twist including the afternoon Tea that included sweats, little sandwiches and a hot dish. We went to the special restaurant The Tristan once and it was very nice- a lovely option.
Rooms-Beds comfortable. You get a choice of pillows however the ones that came with the room were wonderful. You can open your door out to the terrance balcony for the beach front room and we had a round chaise lounge to enjoy. No screen doors or windows to open.
Entertainment- Very good. Two nights we had singers and they were excellent. Dances, limbo, fire eating-very well done.
This is a lovely resort for couples, time to relax.
Staff were wonderful, made you feel very comfortable. In the Terrace restaurant, open to the sea, the ladies and gentleman staff were all very professional, polite and friendly.
We took the helicopter ride from the big airport to the small one (5 minutes from the resort) which was a lovely way to go and the trip back gave an amazing tour of the island. Strongly recommend this at least one way.
We enjoyed this send trip to St. Lucia, this time on the NW end of the island and hope to return in a coming year.

Room Tip: Beach front rooms are lovely to see the ocean, choose second or third floor to look past the palms.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. The management is outstanding and the overall environment makes it the perfect getaway for any couple. You can find your own little paradise on this resort. The rooms are clean. The property is well maintained. Lots of places to just sit and relax. The beach has its own guards on the premises to prevent any mischief from the locals. Restaurant is buffet style with a different theme nightly. There is the opportunity to dine in house with a la carte choices. A good button down shirt. Long dress pants and nice shoes are recommended. Some of the food themes are a little poor. And the buffet food is just average. But the service is outstanding and. That's what makes this resort stand out.

Room Tip: The rooms are all designed for the couple in mind. It is a friendly resort for any couple includin...

We stayed here for ten days at the end of March having previously stayed at Le Sport (2009) and La Source, Grenada (2011 and 2012). The closure of La Source led us to book The Rendezvous.

After a long flight and airport transfer our arrival was underwhelming. We were just ‘dumped’ with our luggage in the front foyer with another a couple, and had to wait approximately ten minutes before a member of the activities staff came to fetch us and take us to reception which is in the centre of the resort. Once at the reception area things were fine and we were taken to our Veranda Room. I, like others, would question whether worth the upgrade. The garden rooms, although a smaller balcony, appear newer and have been upgraded. Or go the whole way for a seaside room.

We loved the resort. The gardens were beautiful, facilities great and the staff excellent. We loved the large beach and the ability to take a walk of some distance in either direction – unlike the small beaches of Le Sport particularly and La Source. We walked to the lighthouse (beautiful views) and twice into the town of Castries.

Food was very good and we do not have an issue with the buffet arrangements although we used the served, Trysting Restaurant on four occasions. However we found the organisation of the buffet restaurant staff very bad. Not their fault – they just needed some organisation. The result: – difficulty finding a laid table, and then having to wait for it to be laid. Waiting for water, wine, utensils etc. and then having several staff trying to help you. Hardly an occasion passed when we did not have to request for items to be replenished in the buffet as they had run out. The staff do not wear name badges etc. so it is not possible to identify who is in charge, on wine duty etc. We mentioned all of this to the hotel manager and food and beverage manager at the welcome party on our second day, but there was no improvement.

We always ‘dressed’ for dinner and I happily wore long trousers as requested in the brochures and in the buffet restaurant itself. We, like other recent reviewers, were very disappointed that some others did not bother and turned up in shorts, vests, sandals etc. Please maintain the policy but find some way of getting guests to comply with it.

There was entertainment of good standard every night, and guests – mostly British, Canadians and Americans mixed and joined in. There were plenty of activities during the day – for those that wanted them, although training sessions for staff in the second week curtailed some of these. Others could just do their own thing – with plenty of beds on the beach and around the resort although the usual ‘sun bed issues’ I’m afraid.

Overall – despite these odd niggles, we had a great time and will consider a return visit.

On first arrival wasn't very impressed, and if I am honest think the varrandah room could have been better seeing as we did pay for an upgrade, having accepted these few niggles we have to say we ended up having a lovely holiday. As everyone has already mentioned, the staff are fantastic, incredibly friendly and always upbeat, we went with the flow tried all the activities and had a great time, all the staff were great but our personal favourite was Dimples, always a lovely smile and welcome whenever we went to dinner, food was good and the Trysting restaurant was a real treat. Thank you all at the Rendezvous, it was a pleasure spending time with you all. Will come back when you introduce rooms with TV's, think even on holiday it's nice to chill out in your room after a hot day on the beach occasionally

Room Tip: Go for garden room not worth upgrading to varrandah suite, garden rooms have been refurbished
