We do not like all-inclusive vacations because the crowd is not a quiet or refined one usually and the food is horrible too. We base this generalization on one very bad experience we had in the Dominican Republic years ago and have never ventured forth all-inclusively until November 2011 when we wanted to get away quickly and did not have the time nor the inclination to do the necessary research. We selected Rendezvous because we had been all around the Caribbean but never been to St. Lucia.

From the time we landed to the time we left, we felt cared for and even cherished. The Tourist Board has made the citizens of this island aware that we are its most valuable asset.
Rendezvous was a terrific find. The staff was more than helpful, the grounds were beautiful, the Veranda suite room was charming, there was a largely British crowd due to Virgin Atlantic's weekly charters and best of all the food was surprisingly delicious. The added bonus: there was no one there under the age of 18. Rendezvous is a former Couples resort but is no longer affiliated with Couples, but you still have to be part of a pair to attend.

The staff is there to please with any and all requests. We spent our time near the spa pool which was also the site of the lazy river. One section in the sun was missing an umbrella. My husband mentioned this to the manager who said he would have one by noon the day . . and WE DID. We can't even get service like that at home! We took a driver to Soufriere, in the middle of the island, to the volcano, the Botanical Gardens an the mud baths. It is not far away mileage-wise but because of the two lane road and its condition it takes about and hour and a half. Our driver bought us bread from a bakery that has no name, that everyone knows about and loves.

Room Tip: A High level Veranda suite is fine

Echo all that has been said (except those reviews, that still managed to find negatives in things that were within control of the hotel!).
Stayed there the last two weeks of August.
Staff is amazingly friendly and we got to meet them all. They were all very approachable and could not do enough for you.
We had the luxury beachfront room, which was kept immaculate throughout our stay and made up twice a day. Had a blocked toiled at one point, which was set right within 1 hour of us reporting it!
Wonderful room, spacious, well equipped with everything you could need. A bottle of champagne in a cooler in the room when we arrived and flowers plus champagne for our anniversary.
Beach was raked by hand every morning and the grounds and gardens were kept at an exceptional standard.
Drinks were quality (BBC my favourite!) and in abundance, you didn't have to move of your sunbed, someone kept coming around taking orders. They even came around with chilled towels during the lunchtime heat.
Met some amazing people we will be staying in touch with and every evening there was variied entertainment.
Food was well prepared and had both familiar and local dishes. Trystin Place super al a carte restaurant fine dining (ask for some extra Peanut Icecream for desert, that is fab).
Locals on the beach keeping to themselves, very polite people. Graveyard/local airport no bother, very few planes and only during the day and unless you were walking away from the resort along the beach you would not know about the graveyard.
Everything included. Only thing to pay for is spa treatment, which btw is very nice and scuba diving lessons.
Fun fitness classes. Recommend Aquarobic and if you are really tough, pilates!

Thank you so much for the team at the Rendezvous to make this an unforgettable experience.
We would come again in a heart beat.

Room Tip: Well worth to pay for the upgrade to a luxury beachfront room.

Having been recommended this hotel, we have left today after a fantastic week. The location inside the hotel was very picturesque. The staff very friendly. The food was fantastic ... Need to shed a lot of Lbs now! Drinks free flowing and endless choice of branded drinks. There was as much or as little to do, depending on preference. Our room was by the lazy river, a ground floor veranda suite. It was lovely and had everything we needed. The gardens are beautiful and the hospitality suite above the gym a real bonus on leaving day. We took part in the Pitons snorkelling and the Jeep/land/sea trip. Both highly recommended. We would like to thank The Rendezvous for a perfect paradise holiday.

There are already many reviews extolling the virtues of this resort and I don't see any point in repeating them apart from saying that I agree with all those I have read. We had a perfect two weeks here!

My only comment that is not 100% positive is that the staff were initially a little over enthusiastic in trying to get us to participate in activities such as beach volleyball but eventually they figured out it wasn't our thing.

I also took up the inclusive offer of a trial scuba dive and ended up doing my PADI Open Water Diver certification (at a cost 500 USD) so if you are slightly tempted by the diving, you may want to budget for this ahead as the experience was awesome! :)

Trudi and I stayed here for 10 nights in early August and it was lovely. I put a lot of research in before booking the annual holiday and this was even better then expected. Great Staff. Age group was probably a little bit older on average than other AI resorts we have been to in the Caribbean.

Room Tip: Sea View Pool Side Room was great (Single Storey)

My wife and a couple of friends went there for a week and had a blast. Here are the pro's and cons:
Pro: Great staff! Everyone was friendly and courteous. We got to know nearly all the staff personally, they were so cool! Nice rooms. Beautiful gounds and landscaping. Beautiful beach. Good food and entertainment almost nightly. Great guests (mostly British). Free drinks and some wine. Waterskiing, wakeboarding and scuba are complimentary! Vlooeyball and other activities daily kep us busy when we weren't zoning at the pool, whcih we did a lot.
Cons: Drinks come in pretty small glasses - about 8 oz, so you might have to get a few. In August/September, it was rather warm. If there's no breeze, you'll sweat. Locals on the beach will approach you occasionally, but will not hassle you. There is security, but just know you'll see them. Beds were VERY firm, but we still slept pretty well anyway - probably the free drinks, ha ha!
In summation, we had a wonderful time and made a lot of friends; more with the staff (Johanna,Deano, Clavi and Joseph) than the guests! Evenings are great and someone serving you drinks at the pool in the afternoon will likely be in the evening show fire dancing! The Trysting Place is a very nice restaurant and Joseph the F/B Manager is very accomodating. We recommond taking the helicopter one way as a good method of seeing the island. Also recommend a sunset boat tour of their side of the island. Not free but SO amazing!

Room Tip: It depends what you want. we selected a garden room because of the large patio. There are beach ro...

Before we arrived we did not know what to expect from a 'couples' only hotel but this place is beyond all expectation....and completely respectable ;)
One of the great things for a Honeymoon is that it was an adult only resort which allowed us to completely relax. Not a noisy resort at all and plenty of facilities available at all time. Never struggled to find sunbeds etc for the entire 14 day stay.
The staff in every aspect of the hotel were amazing and so genuinely friendly, honestly could not do enough for you...and the 'activities' staff were superb and did not once pressure you to get involved if you did not want to... Was actually a nice surprise to find they arranged events such as afternoon games around the beach and pool, volleyball matches, Casino nights and evening entertainment but not intrusive to other guests that just wanted to chill out...
The resort itself is complimented by the most lavish tropical gardens of which a dedicated team tend to daily to keep in such a beautiful condition and everywhere is very clean. There are 2 lovely pools and the lazy river is surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers and dotted with small private islands to bathe on, great for quiet days away from the main pools...also serviced by the barmen.
The food is absolutely out of this world, so much choice for every course and beautifully cooked and presented. Would definately recommend a few visits to the hotels 'fine dining restaurant' 'The Trysting Place', still completely inclusive (no extra cost) but need to book a table through reception in advance. The food in this restaurant is absolutely out of this world and complimented by being serenaded by a local guitarist - definately worth a visit or two!
Nice to see that all the drinks were also branded labels, everything you could want ;)
We stayed in one of the seaside suites of which sat next to the main beachside pool which for us was perfect. Just enough trees and plants to give you privacy from the pool but could also see through to the sea aswell.. The room itself was absolutely beautiful with four poster bed and a large marble bathroom..Great airconditioning of which can be a godsend with the humid heat in St Lucia...
Plenty of activity both at the Hotel and on the island. Rendezvous sits directly on the beachfront with it's own watersports facility and team. You can either enjoy the all inclusive Kayak, Pedalos, Inflatable doughnuts or pay a one off $50 lesson for waterskiing or sailing and enjoy for the rest of your stay at no further cost...good value and a great team of people to help. Would also recommend the personal 'sunset cruise' around the basic complimented with as much Champagne you can drink and canapes...
On a two week stay it was good to take part in a few island excursions to break up the week of which we opted for the Tranopy trip through the rainforest, small hike, treetop cable car and then zip lining back down through the rainforest treetops (not for fear of heights though..), Whale and Dolphin watching (lucky to see around 8 whales surfacing and a school of approx 50 Dolphins jumping around our boat!) and Horseback riding down a rocky track to the beach and then into the sea on bareback as a couple.....all absolutely superb!
All in all a beautiful island, amazing resort, the friendliest people and a perfect honeymoon.
Well recommended....:) :) :)

Room Tip: Seaside Suites are perfect...
