“A solid "meh"”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2011

I would definitely not go out of my way to visit. Local rum is the same price in grocery stores, the clothing and jewelry is the same as you'd find at any tropical duty free and not all that well-priced. A good way to waste maybe half-an-hour, not much more.

The only real positive about this is that it's MUCH better than the other duty-free in town - more stores, nicer (open-air) layout, cleaner, etc.

Oh yeah, and the parking sucks - they really need more spaces.

“Point Seraphine is a RIPOFF”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2009

Point Seraphine is located to catch all the tourists piling off the cruise ships that are harbored. The shops are the first place that the cruise ship tourists see... so naturally, they want to buy there. It is very expensive in the shops, and the locals are not willing to budge or barter on their prices.

As a recent tourist who just vacationed in St.Lucia for 10 days, I recommend taking the ferry for $2 US from Point Seraphine to the local market in Casteries. The market is FULL of locals willing to barter with you! Don't buy the first thing you see, as many of the booths have the same goods, at different, and often lower prices.

If you're looking to buy alcohol that's bottled locally in St.Lucia, and want to spend significantly less than you would at Point Seraphine, ask a taxi to drive you to the local shopping center across the street from the Sandals Halcyon Resort. The shopping center has clothing stores, a book store, local food, and a grocery store. At the grocery store, you can buy local alcohol, cocoa, cashews, banana ketchup, and hot sauce, all for MUCH, MUCH cheaper than they sell at Point Seraphine. This shopping center is very safe, and has much to offer. Check it out!

Hope this review helps. Have fun in St. Lucia!
