“Colourful and noisy”

Stalls over stalls; everything on sale; pele-mele. We spent 15 minutes to walk the market with only one objective: buy banana ketchup. As this is special to st-lucia. We all know the popular Heinz (which is on zillion tables in america); but nobody except st lucians know their famous banana ketchup. It is very good. Buy it, you will be supprised. First try to taste it (you can at the terrasse looking over the marigot bay). This is what decided us to purchase numerous bottles. You won't regret it.

Visit on a Saturday when it's busiest and purchase the freshest of produce. Chaotic, colourful and exciting!

“Great local market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

There is a lot to choose from, although after a while the booths look the same. Local spices, souvenirs, crafts and food dominate this bustling market. It's also next to a cruise ship port. Vendors will deal with you if you find a price to negotiate. We liked the row of kitchens with homemade local fare.

“Typical market”

barter barter barter -- although we found some vendors stuck to original asking price and would not barter even when we walked away -- interesting!
