We were a family of 5 with 3 teens. This was the first trip taken since the pandemic! I feel like many of the pictures or videos you watch about the resort are slightly deceiving.

The resort is very pretty, hilly and spread out. Many of the promotional pictures are not like the rooms that are pictured. the rooms were slightly dark even with the curtains opened. We had a two bedroom villa with ocean view; I am pretty sure that all rooms had ocean view- which were incredible.
The promotional pictures seemed like they are the ocean front villas.

The beds were pretty comfortable, but all 5 of us felt the pillows were not great! we asked to have them switched and house keeping brought some options that worked.
Our room was mosquito infested, despite calling and having the room sprayed and wearing bug spray. This made our trip uncomfortable.

The resort sent a survey the second day asking to rate the wi-fi and experience thus far. After giving an honest review and mentioning that the food was inconsistent and some of the other matters mentioned above, we felt that all the staff were aware of the review (not in a good way!)
Many times we asked for things on the menu and we were told they were out. Vegetarian options were few and far between. Many of the food lacked flavor. We had gone on an excursion and the local food on the boat was far better than anything at the resort (even the vegetarian options!)

All the service staff were pleasant and attentive.

The beach was nice and the water sports are great for teens.

The two pools were nice.... everyone enjoyed the late afternoon pool volleyball.

Special shout out to Neima the fitness director and Sam the social director.
Also, appreciated that Gavin, the restaurant manager, tried to check up on the meals. But, feel that the resort continued to make a fuss and everyone knew who we were---it made the rest of the trip uncomfortable.

We went with friends and they had a 2-bedroom villa who did not have windows- the doors had bars but was open to the outside--their mosquito problem was worse than ours!
They are bigger foodies than us and thought the food was mediocre at best and inconsistent from day to day.

We both said that the only way we would come back to this resort was if we were staying at one of the ocean front villas and if the food was better.

also would make a recommendation to the resort, that given we are in a pandemic, they should move away from actual menus and move towards QR scan for online menus. Also, if they have a limited menu, that they have most items available or delete/cover up unavailable items.

Room tip: make sure to ask for unit with windows and not open to outside

My family and I stayed at the Windjammer-Landing Resort in St. Lucia to celebrate our anniversary from April 2nd-9th, and we had an awesome time. This was our first international trip since the pandemic, and the staff at Windjammer-Landing made it memorable for us. My husband, my parents (72 and 81), my 6-year-old son, and I found so much to do while there. Here are the things I loved about Windjammer.
1. The staff is amazing. They treated us like we were family. Ms. Helen, Karen, Ian, Nick, both Darryls, Sam, Kizzie, Junior, Dragon Fly staff, Upper Deck Staff, Papa Don’s staff, Travis and Matthew from the bar, ALL of the shuttle drivers, Gayle and Pam from the spa, Joelle from house keeping made us feel so welcomed. If we needed ANYTHING, they did their best to make it happen. We had a few issues with the amount of stairs in the room and my aging parents, but they jump right on the problem and corrected it.
2. I love that COVID safety protocols they took to keep everyone safe. Temperature checks and contact tracing information before dinning at any restaurant.
3. I love that the Windjammer has so many water activists that are included in the price: Banana Boat, sailing, water skiing, kayaking etc..There was also a slide, trampoline, and hammocks in the ocean to enjoy.
4. The entertainment was limited due to COVID, but Sam and the crew did their thing to make it enjoyable for us. We sang karaoke, played Bingo, named that tune, and danced the night away!
5. There were cool activities for the kids to give parents and grandparents a break. The activities were fun and exciting for my son. He met sever friends that he hung out with during the stay.
6. Our room was amazing! If you can, book the renovated villas. You will not be disappointed!
Here are a few things to keep in mind if you plan to stay:
1. St. Lucia has some pretty strict COVID-19 protocols (for good reason), but Karen helped us work around some of it, by giving us a list of COVID certified restaurants and arranging a taxi for us to get there and back. If you want to get off the resort to enjoy a restaurant, contact Karen. She will go above and beyond to help you work it out.
2. Bring good bug spray. The mosquitoes will eat you alive. :-)
3. Note: There are about 15 or more stairs in just about every room, so be prepared, and if you are bringing aging parents, ask to book a room with minimal stairs.
4. There is also a $6 per day per person tourism fee required by the St. Lucian Government.

Side Note: I couldn’t get enough of the views!!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!!

We have been visiting Windjammer Landing for the past 20 years. The views are unbeatable, the friendliness and customer service is top-notch, and everything you could possibly need for a fabulous vacation is right there on property. In addition to the pristine beach and water sports, there are five restaurants, a spa, gym, pools, tennis courts, several shops and even a small grocery store with drug store essentials and beer/wine/liquor.

Windjammer handled covid very well. Rapid testing is done on-site at the nurse’s office (thank you to the nurses!). Masks are worn by all, except while eating/drinking. St Lucia is also making it a priority for those in the service sector to receive vaccinations, so many have already been vaccinated. There are very strict protocols for visitors to the island to be tested within 5 days of travel and you need to register on the St Lucian Tourism Authority 1 week out to get permission to enter the country. (Register first, then go back and add your covid test results later). Be sure you do the online paperwork and print off your covid results and authorization to enter the country to show at the airport before you board and again when you arrive in St Lucia or you will miss out on your trip.

Thank you to Guest Ambassadors Esie and Ian for taking care of us. Esie responded to us at all times of the day and night! Chera, at reception, was so helpful and meticulous in going through the final bill with a fine-toothed comb. And, we are always thankful for capable Helen who is synonymous with Windjammer.

Thank you to Franz, Jessica and Cynara, who are incredible at their jobs!

And, thank you to housekeeping for being so helpful and keeping everything spotless!

Water sports (which is included with the all-inclusive package) kept our entire crew very busy. Water skiing, wake boarding, kayaking, SUPing, snorkeling, banana boat rides, tube rides - you name it, they have it. Thank you, Denver, Shurandi, Jameson, Jamal, Jamie, Antony, Dwight and Gordon for making us laugh and have so much fun.

The food is delicious and there is a wide variety. The all-inclusive plan is a great value. June and her staff at Papa Dons do a fantastic job in a charming little Italian restaurant, set up in the hillside. Merlika at Papa Dons took great care of us and was such an upbeat presence. Cheryl and her staff are wonderful and handle all of the hustle and bustle of breakfasts at Dragonfly and lunches at Embers. Vanessa has been there for over 20 years and is such a nice person. At Dragonfly, Peter’s breakfast omelettes can’t be beat!

Junior and Samantha manage the guest activities and really know how to get everyone involved and having the best time. Even though activities are curtailed during covid, Junior and Samantha made sure everyone had fun!

The bartenders are terrific. Thank you to Marcellus, Elijah, Jean Claude, Travis, Matthew, Ryan & Nona for the excellent drinks and wonderful service!

Justin, who drives the shuttles (the resort’s taxi service for trips around the resort), was a ray of sunshine. But, if you’re looking for a workout, nothing beats a run, or even just a walk, all the way up the hill. It’s more challenging than you can imagine and there are gorgeous views the entire way up!

I apologize to those I didn’t mention (due to my poor memory) because there are so many others who make our trips special. It truly is the staff at Windjammer who make it such a remarkable place. They will embrace your family and make you feel at home in the most gorgeous setting imaginable!

One word of warning - the resort is about 1-½ hours drive from the airport and involves some winding roads. Be prepared. Bring food with you onto the airplane (since the airlines aren’t feeding passengers these days). I wouldn’t advise going all day without eating and then doing the long taxi ride on an empty stomach.

So I probably read a hundred of these TripAdvisor reviews before coming as this was the first pandemic trip we’d taken as a family. So am writing this to be as helpful as possible for future visitors!

We are a family of 5 - my husband and I and then three young kids, ages 7, 5 and 3. We had booked a 2BR premium ocean view suite with a plunge pool. Each villa is slightly different so I had no idea what our actual villa would look like until we were shown to our room. The room we were given was beautiful but not workable for the kids as the bedrooms were spread out on each floor with long, dark stone staircases. The kids were too afraid to be split up from us down or up a staircase so I had to request a new room. It took a looongggg time as we waited in the room to see if they could switch us.

We ended up staying in that room the first night and the kids crashed on the sofa bed.

The next day they were able to switch us although the first villa they showed was still being painted so there were ladders and paint cans everywhere and no bathtubs (my toddler isn’t shower-ready). They were kind enough to move us to a 2BR estate villa where the bedrooms were on the upper floor. The estate villa was beautiful although I think not as updated as the other villas as the furniture seems more dated and things were falling apart in the bathrooms (towel racks, toilet paper holders). The views are unrivaled. I could look at that view all day. I think it’d be good for them to outline some of the parameters to the villas as i would say the hillside villas would be challenging for anyone with mobility issues with the stairs down to the villas and up and down inside. And same with the lack of bathtubs for families with small children. I was grateful to the front desk for how accommodating they were!!

Food: we stayed for 7 days and I can see how the food can get a bit repetitive day after day as only three restaurants are open for dinner each night. The service is awesome - the team is kind, attentive, wonderful (shoutout to Wendy at Papa Dons, our fav restaurant there! Arron at Jammers too) Sometimes the food came out slowly but i didn’t mind. The kids enjoyed the food as there’s always pizza, burgers, fish etc. I’d say as all inclusive, it’s pretty solid. The food can be inconsistent ie sometimes over cooked or dry and other times not. I think the food would be rated poorly if you’re paying a la carte. But all inclusive I feel less picky.

Beach was lovely and the water sports on all inclusive is a great deal. There are plenty of chairs and there was a water trampoline and slide. We went kayaking and wakeboarding and sailing.

Pools were not crowded at all!

Drinks were delicious - five stars :)

Shuttles were always fast, never an issue.

The mosquitoes were not noticeable but I did find bites on my legs after dinner but none on the kids or my husband. I had packed mosquito coils and bug spray after reading the reviews but I didn’t use any of it. I also didn’t notice them fumigating at all. So maybe it’s what time of year you visit?

COVID tests were very fast, easy and so convenient.

We really enjoyed our stay! I would recommend this resort to families looking for a stress free getaway. Kudos to the Windjammer team for wonderful service.

Our vacation didn’t start out on a great foot because our moms passport was messed up and she got sent home. The second we got there Hellen and esie were beyond exceptional. They accommodated my brother and I to the most extreme possible. Our villa was insane and so beautiful including the views. Not only was the resort wonderful but so are the staff. I have never been to a resort that makes such connections with the guests. Marcellus the bartender went ABOVE AND BEYOND always. He had drinks ready before we even were done. He knew us by the second day and the things we enjoyed and he was exceptionally nice and gave us some tips for our trip. Whatever he is getting paid raise it!!!! The other bartenders like Travis, Matthew, Ryan, and all the others at Jammers were incredible. Also Esie personally helped me with any hiccup I could ever have. She responds within two minutes and provides recommendations and help at all times. The entertainers such as Sam and Junior kept the place alive they made everyone laugh and kept everything so incredibly positive. They are true gems and even the guests there are all happy to be friends such a positive environment it feels unreal. 100 percent will be coming back as soon as possible. Plus the foods great;)
