We have been visiting Windjammer Landing for the past 20 years. The views are unbeatable, the friendliness and customer service is top-notch, and everything you could possibly need for a fabulous vacation is right there on property. In addition to the pristine beach and water sports, there are five restaurants, a spa, gym, pools, tennis courts, several shops and even a small grocery store with drug store essentials and beer/wine/liquor.
Windjammer handled covid very well. Rapid testing is done on-site at the nurse’s office (thank you to the nurses!). Masks are worn by all, except while eating/drinking. St Lucia is also making it a priority for those in the service sector to receive vaccinations, so many have already been vaccinated. There are very strict protocols for visitors to the island to be tested within 5 days of travel and you need to register on the St Lucian Tourism Authority 1 week out to get permission to enter the country. (Register first, then go back and add your covid test results later). Be sure you do the online paperwork and print off your covid results and authorization to enter the country to show at the airport before you board and again when you arrive in St Lucia or you will miss out on your trip.
Thank you to Guest Ambassadors Esie and Ian for taking care of us. Esie responded to us at all times of the day and night! Chera, at reception, was so helpful and meticulous in going through the final bill with a fine-toothed comb. And, we are always thankful for capable Helen who is synonymous with Windjammer.
Thank you to Franz, Jessica and Cynara, who are incredible at their jobs!
And, thank you to housekeeping for being so helpful and keeping everything spotless!
Water sports (which is included with the all-inclusive package) kept our entire crew very busy. Water skiing, wake boarding, kayaking, SUPing, snorkeling, banana boat rides, tube rides - you name it, they have it. Thank you, Denver, Shurandi, Jameson, Jamal, Jamie, Antony, Dwight and Gordon for making us laugh and have so much fun.
The food is delicious and there is a wide variety. The all-inclusive plan is a great value. June and her staff at Papa Dons do a fantastic job in a charming little Italian restaurant, set up in the hillside. Merlika at Papa Dons took great care of us and was such an upbeat presence. Cheryl and her staff are wonderful and handle all of the hustle and bustle of breakfasts at Dragonfly and lunches at Embers. Vanessa has been there for over 20 years and is such a nice person. At Dragonfly, Peter’s breakfast omelettes can’t be beat!
Junior and Samantha manage the guest activities and really know how to get everyone involved and having the best time. Even though activities are curtailed during covid, Junior and Samantha made sure everyone had fun!
The bartenders are terrific. Thank you to Marcellus, Elijah, Jean Claude, Travis, Matthew, Ryan & Nona for the excellent drinks and wonderful service!
Justin, who drives the shuttles (the resort’s taxi service for trips around the resort), was a ray of sunshine. But, if you’re looking for a workout, nothing beats a run, or even just a walk, all the way up the hill. It’s more challenging than you can imagine and there are gorgeous views the entire way up!
I apologize to those I didn’t mention (due to my poor memory) because there are so many others who make our trips special. It truly is the staff at Windjammer who make it such a remarkable place. They will embrace your family and make you feel at home in the most gorgeous setting imaginable!
One word of warning - the resort is about 1-½ hours drive from the airport and involves some winding roads. Be prepared. Bring food with you onto the airplane (since the airlines aren’t feeding passengers these days). I wouldn’t advise going all day without eating and then doing the long taxi ride on an empty stomach.
