This was a trip of a life time for my husband and I. It was fabulous from beginning to end. Wonderful staff and service. They just couldn't do enough for you. Everyone was so friendly. This is a beautiful resort with lots to do. We had a one bedroom villa with a plunge pool and gorgeous view. We had an all inclusive package, so we didn't need the beautiful full kitchen, but still nice to have. It was an open air villa, but didn't have any problems with bugs. We had a couple of little birds come in to visit, but we didn't mind. We didn't need to leave the resort with all there was to do there. Food was very good. Shuttle buses on the steep hills were a little scary. Loved swimming in the ocean, but the plunge pool was nice to have to cool off. Beautiful tropical breezes blow all the time to help keep you cool. If you don't have a great time at Windjammer, then it's your own fault. There is so much to do and wonderful people to take care of your every wim, it's impossible not to love it!!!

p.s.- Sunset cruise was a blast..... I won the dance contest!!!! Haven't had that much fun in years!!!!

Resort is good. Food is great! We had the all inclusive package which was a good option for us. Going outside the resort requires cab and it can addon quickly.

Staff is friendly. Beach is nice, lots of chairs on the beach. The hut that allows shade all day are limited so we woke up early to get one. We stayed at a villa close to the main building which was close to everything. If noise is an issue for you, you may want to ask for something a bit further since we could hear the entertainement at night until 10:30pm but that was not an issue for us.

only the rooms have air conditioning which I thought would be an issue but we were at the beach all day and at night the breeze made the living room cool enough.

Nice vacation overall.

Room Tip: We stayed in the villa with plunge pool. This was a nice add-on. The foold is great. Wine is limit...

We have a young child and have been vacationing at various Caribbean resorts for the past 4 years. The Windjammer in St. Lucia had beautiful beaches, the best food and the most professional but friendly staff we've encountered. I want to especially highlight the lovely ladies at the kids club. They are creative and caring. We went all inclusive and everything we ate (except some things at breakfast) was cooked to order. The beaches and water are beautiful and while snorkeling on the beach not far from bathers and swimmers I saw some squid.

They offer a generous discount to returning visitors and we just might break our family rule of never visiting the same place twice; however, 7 days at The Windjammer might not have been enough.

We stayed in the villas. Upon arrival our first villa was very hot with only one ac working, and that was in a bedroom. The staff accommodated our request to move, and they moved us to a beach view villa which was a vast improvement. The hot water was not good though, and there was no bath tub. There were big gaps around the window and door frames for bugs to crawl in.The setting for the villa was stunning but i think the hotel is a little old. The service was very hit and miss. Sometimes it was quick, sometimes deathly slow. We did not do the all inclusive but the prices were crazy, even in the onsite shop for cereal. The taxis from the hotel were also expensive. I have never, in all of my traveling life experienced prices like this. The food was surprisingly better than I had anticipated and the family really enjoyed themselves, even though the snorkeling was postponed because of 'algae' - funny because the diving was running and good. I would not stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Get a beach view villa!

This was by far one of the best vacatons I have ever taken. The villa was wonderful, the infinity pool was unbelievable and the view was breath taking. The employees of the resort were very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble for them. They couldn't do enough to make sure you were having a good time.Even the taxi drivers were exceptional. I will definately go back many more times. We took the catamaran tour which I would recommend for everyone, it was so much fun. I could go on and on but you just have to experience St. Lucia for yourself.

As a traveller who prefers heading East (from the UK), rather than West, my expectations of St Lucia were fairly modest - nice weather was really the priority given our never-ending winter back home.
I am pleased to say that this was one of my most enjoyable holidays, and given that I didn't leave Windjammers during my week-long stay, all of the credit must go to them.
Our room was great, the view was spectacular, so do book an Ocean View room. It is a very good size, was spotlessly cleaned and maintained daily and has a full-size fridge, which is very handy. The iphone player/charger is also a nice touch. The only downside is the steep hills that link the resort. There is a shuttle service, which unfortunately isn't very good. Sometimes you can be kept waiting for a very long time, not nice when it is very hot, worse still if it's raining cats and dogs! A couple of the drivers were quite surly, which was strange as all of the other staff at the resort were terrific. But overall, it is worth any inconvenience for the spectacular views alone.
The resort has lots to do, if you want to take part. If like us, you just wanted to relax on the beach, there are plenty of sun loungers and the beach is beautiful. The only criticisms are about the dreaded practice of sun-bed hogs who get up at the crack of dawn to put their towels down, and then don't even use them until the afternoon. How hotels still allow this practice is incomprehensible. There is also a nice swimming pool area (there are also many smaller pools around the complex), but rather mystifyingly there is no shade for the loungers, but there is if you want to sit down and have a drink.
I strongly recommend that this is one resort where you take the all-inclusive option - the food isn't cheap and nor should it be, as it is of a very high standard. Drinks were great too, a huge selection of cocktails to choose from, although inexplicably they were unable to provide Mojitos during our stay. Considering this is a rum-based cocktail and we were in the Caribbean, we found this unforgivable.
These are only minor gripes, as overall we had a really great time at Windjammers. The staff make a difference and with the exceptions already stated, all of the others were warm, friendly and welcoming. Their enthusiasm is infectious and contributed to our enjoyment of the resort.

Room Tip: Choose an ocean view room, check out the map on their web site to select a room with a less arduous...

Dear IanB6666: Thank you for the very nice review - we're certainly glad you decided to head West this year! I am glad most of your stay was very positive and I have mentioned your issues to the appropriate managers - there's certainly no excuse for the bad service from the shuttle driver and I am sorry for his behavior. I'm glad your experience with our other staff members was more positive. I hope you'll be back; we'll try to have Mojitos when you return!
