“A great getaway!”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

If your looking for great food, fantastic facilities and first rate accommodation then this is the resort for you. Myself, my husband and my five year old daughter had a wonderful weeks stay. We had a 3 bed villa with plunge pool which had the most wonderful sea views. We had the all inclusive package which had no exclusions unlike many AI accommodation , you get beer in bottles and fair quality house wine no plastic cups and vinegar! A choice of 4 restaurants serving anything from local delicacies, to Italian fare and fillet steaks with great breakfasts and great lunch options.

If water sports are your thing then it's all included even water skiing, banana boats and snorkelling. For those preferring land sports then tennis is available.

Overall a superb holiday at a fantastic resort.

Just got home from a week in Saint Lucia. I stayed at Windjammer Landing while there and had an amazing time. I liked the setup of the place with the rooms spread out... It made it feel more like you were staying in a small town instead of a generic hotel, which I like. The room looked exactly as the photos on the website, so there are no unpleasant surprises there. Shuttles to the beach are available if you don't feel like walking down the hill but I never found this necessary and just walked except for check in and check out. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and having 5 restaurants on the property was very convenient. I would certainly recommend the place to a friend.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room with a roof deck. It's nice to have for that point in the day when you...

Getting to the resort is quite a drive, about an hour, you take a taxi from the airport and cost aprox. $80 US.

IF YOU BOOK MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR A ROOM THAT IS FULLY ENCLOSED WITH WINDOWS ETC.!!!- I ended up having to pay an upgrade for a room with windows and doors ( instead of shutters and lattice) because of all the bugs, geckos, scorpions and giant flying things. it was TERRIBLE! I couldn't sleep at night or walk anywhere and you couldn't have lights on once it got dark because the bugs would overrun the room! After I talked to the desk 3 days later we were moved to a room that was fully enclosed with glass windows and walls (not wood shutters and lattice) it was AMAZING, but was a must, if we didn't get that second room I would have packed up early and left!

The resort is very nice, everyone is friendly, the beach is well cared for.
The ocean swimming area had a lot of seaweed- which for me was a problem- and you can't go out of the designated swimming area because of the jellyfish but the pools were always clean and there are so many pools that non of them are ever super busy.

It is a HIKE to say the least to get to your villa and is pretty much impossible to climb so you are constantly calling for a shuttle. The are quite fast but it is a hassle since you can't just quickly "run up to your room" but the drivers are nice.

St.Lucia in general is AMAZING, my husband and I would go back in a heartbeat. The food is quite expensive and you have to taxi everywhere which costs on average $20US per trip.

The north part of the island is FOR SURE 100% where to be, the south is not as nice and doesn't offer as much to do and see anywhere in and around Castries or Rodney Bay is guaranteed to be beautiful and lots of things to see and do.

Snorkelling and diving are AMAZING! There is a Volcano and plantations golf etc. just so much to do and the locals are all VERY nice and helpful. I would recommend St.Lucia for anyone looking for a great get away ESPECIALLY honeymoon!!!!!

Room Tip: Make sure to book one of the fully enclosed rooms with glass windows and walls not lattice and wood...

This is a lovely resort village in a Mediterranean theme, with whitewashed walls and tile roofs. The reception and most restaurants are close to the beach, with the villas built up the sides of the hill. The villas are accessed by narrow single lane roads - shuttle vans travel regularly between the reception area and the villas.

We exchanged for an enclosed unit here through RCI, and although we used lots of points for the exchange, we were very pleased with the unit we were upgraded to; a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit with plunge pool. We enjoyed the unit, the dips in the pool, and especially the splendid views towards Castries from the enormous balcony. We spent a couple days just relaxing, and reading, and enjoying the villa. The unit could have used a larger TV in the living room, and a TV in the master bedroom. The bathroom sink and showers were a little worn out.

From what we could tell, Windjammer is definitely one of the nicer resorts in the area; we traveled into Rodney Bay by taxi on a couple occasions for restaurants, shopping, and casino, and were not overly impressed with what we observed of the resorts and village there.

The food at the restaurants on site is pretty good. The banana bread is awesome! There are a number of delicious tropical cocktails available. We did the all-inclusive option for 4 days, but this did not really work to our advantage.

The customer service at the resort was quite good, better than most other places on the island, although still not up to North American standards. Reps from the timeshare office asked to show our unit 2 days in a row to prospective buyers; this was inconvenient, and a turn-off. We used the spa services - the estheticians provided a great massage and pedicure. but 1 of them made some silly and unnecessary comments that took away from the experience.

Overall, if you are looking at visiting St. Lucia, this resort is worth your consideration.

Room Tip: Not all units are enclosed - birds, bugs, and other wildlife may get into the villa if not completel...

We went for a two centre holiday in January and chose Windjammer because neither of us had been there before. As a primarily time share resort there is a lack of a centralised feel that you get with a hotel. The complex is set on a steep hill and so getting from reception to your villa requires a shuttle which are readily available. The resort could do with upgrading and modernising but the villas were clean and pleasant although not to the standard we would normally choose, definitely 3.5 star. The restaurants were fine but not spectacular and certainly extremely casual. Lots of Americans and so dress code very casual! We had a very enjoyable week but not sure I would opt to return unless there was an upgrade of facilities.

This was our first time in St. Lucia and we can't wait to to go back. Windjammer was terrific. The accommodations were lovely--clean, airy, nicely furnished. We had a balcony above our room and the view was spectacular. The all-incluisve offered many options for dinner; food was excellent. The service from everyone was outstanding, starting with a warm greeting as we exited the taxi, to our "ambassador", the front desk,, wait staff, spa staff, even managing director-- everyone!! I felt very welcome. I recommend except for guests with mobility issues because of steep terrain (there is a shuttle) and cobblestone roads.
