We had a lovely time in St Lucia! This was part of a 7 day carnival cruise. Anyone visiting the islands knows what a harrowing experience it can be to arrange tours on your own especially at the cruise ports. We lucked out with Lushan Country Life Tours. Our tour guide(Arthur) was the son of the main attraction on the tour namely "Momma" and he was so funny and upbeat. It was truly delightful from the tasting of many different fruit; strolling/climbing through the natural forest. The highlight of the tour was meeting momma was the with her droll sense of humor and the delicious food she prepared. Its one of our memorable moments from the cruise. The cost was $30 per person( you may be able to bargain for lower price) that includes the tour to "mommas" and the rest of the island and the beach.

This is an essential tour for anyone visiting St Lucia, especially for those on cruise ships with very limited time who want to experience the real rainforest. We spent a highly memorable morning with Arthur Anthony, whose family have lived here for generations. He was an extremely knowledgable guide who shared his infectious love of this place with us. The guided walk is relatively easy and you will see amazing plant & wildlife, also learning a little about the Lucian history and culture. We ate homemade local delicacies & fruits picked straight from the trees ! Expect to see something unique and experience genuine hospitality, this is a small local business who really deserve your support. If you have visited the Rainforest Dome at the Eden Project in the UK that is nothing compares to this !

I really enjoyed the fact that this was an attraction that taught about the natural beauty of st. lucia. it wasn't about zip lines, horses, atv's, or whatever else. It was a great opportunity to learn about the fruits, plants, wildlife, and native cooking of St. Lucia. I have been there 4 times and everytime I've loved it. Arthur Anthony and his staff are amazing! God Bless!

Arthur's theme song. We really enjoyed our time with Arthur. He was a hilarious guide who kept us highly entertained throughout the whole tour. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful sights of St. Lucia with him, and we loved the stop at his place. Momma's cooking was a nice touch to the tour. We loved it!! We also loved learning a song along the way. Overall, a very enjoyable time.

We did this tour last week, and while everyone in St Lucia was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, the tour was unfortunately not as described on the various websites that offer it.

It was supposed to be "interactive," but WE DID NO COOKING and that's what we were hoping to do. The food was already prepared after we finished our tour of the grounds, and we were shown some of the preparation in stages that had already been started by the cooks at Lushan Country Life. We didn't learn much about Caribbean/Creole cooking in general, but were only given samples of a few particular dishes. We didn't chop any herbs so we don't know what herbs are common to St Lucian/Caribbean/Creole cooking, and we definitely didn't feel like we had mastered the art of Creole cooking after the tour and we didn't help create any dishes.

The grounds are beautiful and the guide was very funny and informative, but if you're hoping to learn any Caribbean cooking, you're better off with at a different venue.

So sorry you were unable to paticipate in the cooking. Aparantly there was a miss communication by the company providing that tour; the staff at Lushan Country Life were unaware. You received the advanced preparation done for shorter tour.
