We were recommended the Coal Pot by our shuttle driver on our arrival to the island. I have to say I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone I knew. This restaurant is not only way overpriced, but the harbor view they have is AWFUL. We went there for dinner one night after dark and what we saw was an incredibly dirty marina with all kinds of debris floating by in the water. The dining area is open and only slightly elevated above the water and an especially large wave can spray the water up and onto the tables and diners. The food was average at best, perhaps it was because we ordered wrong but I was sadly disappointed by our fish entrees which were each slathered in sauce but yet still tasted underseasoned. Prices were pretty exorbitant given the food but that's pretty much expected on any island.

We had a short stay in St Lucia so this was really the only restaurant we went to outside of our hotel, I wish I had another place to recommend. Overall, not a very good experience for which we paid over $200. Thumbs down.

We drove our rental Jeep from Cap Maison up North to Casties on a Tuesday night in search of dinner and some sights and generally to explore a little on our own. What we found was that nothing was really open and no one that we asked knew of many restaurant options. We had a road map with a restaurant listed not far from the small airport in Castries and in looking for it, ended up finding The Coal Pot which was like a little oasis on a night with many wrong turns and dead ends. The road leading to it looked abandoned but we continued on anyway and we were extremely glad that we did. The setting right on the water was amazing and the food was extremely good. Highly recommended.

The food, locations and service were top class. This restaurant is right on the waters edge. The selection of choices is wide ranging and covers most palettes.

Alright, I saw a lot of remarks regarding this restaurant, like it is not as good as in France or overpriced, but to be honest, the price of the menu is normal as everywhere else on the Island. We have paid 15 euro for fish which is a normal price you can have in an European restaurant,so I dont understand remarks below saying it s overpriced. In Rodney bay you can find a restaurant who serve you a meal for 60 euro so this is is overpriced to me .....However, the area is nice, and waiters are really relaxed and very friendly. The food is good, you have some good French Creole recipe as saltfish accra, it is a home cooking, nothing posh of course just like in a village in south of France.

We went here for lunch and totally recommend it! Phenomenal lobster bisque and baked onion soup. Main courses of fish are impeccable, fresh and filling. Service is fantastic. The restaurant is located right on the water, meaning, it is inches from your feet. And, very family friendly, while maintaining its high quality and classiness.
