If you're looking for a snob-princess pampered-1000$ a night-all inclusive boring buffet-superficial materialistic-over the top-children screaming and running all over the place-teenagers partying all night long place to stay then stay somewhere else, Belle Kaye is definitely not for you.

But on the other end if you're looking for a comfortable, warm, welcoming, charming, simple, affordable, practical, quiet, cozy, relaxing place to stay and get a real taste of St Lucia, then Belle Kaye is perfect for you.

Nevermind the big resorts claiming with the overstated, and in their case overrated, “Home away from home” claim. Belle Kaye is one of the very few who can rightfully use that formulated sentence and being truthful. As a proof that it is the foundation of Belle Kaye; it's kweyol for “Beautiful house” or you may also hear people call it “Belle maison”.

Our apartment had its own very functional kitchenette, dining area, living room, and bathroom. The bed mattress was firm and comfortable. Everything was clean. Since St Lucia is a small and very windy island, the use of air conditioning is practically not necessary. Fans would have been enough for us since we LOVE tropical temperatures. But it's understandable that people with lower tolerance to humid heat would depend on it. Although I would recommend, as a friendly advice, to avoid it as much as possible or to set it to the lowest settings because air conditioning has a vicious side effect; it lowers our tolerance to heat. The more and longer we stay in air conditioned places the more we “suffer” when we step outside. The cold level settings of air conditioning intensify the shock to heat as well.

There is a small shallow pool surrounded by a chill out area. Don't expect to improve your heart stamina by swimming across; it is very small and shall only be seen as a way to cool down and relax in the morning(the water is always nice since it's so shallow) or after a hard day walking around, shopping or trekking.

Belle Kaye is conveniently located near everything: we can walk(15 minutes=1,7km) to Pigeon island, and then access its beach. A 5 minutes car/taxi ride takes us to Rodney bay where we can shop or dine, then take a romantic walk to catch a magnificent sunset at Reduit beach. There, a lot of agencies can also be found where we can plan activities and sightseeing throughout the island.

Eroy, the owner, is extremely helpful if we need information and details about what to do and where to go in St Lucia. He is an amazing source of knowledge about the island. We have rarely met such a friendly, gentle, kind, hospitable, generous and helpful person during our trips. It is a lot because of great people like Eroy that we can have such pleasant stays abroad and make these travels so enjoyable and equally unforgettable. Eroy has even offered us is services to and from the airport for a very reasonable fee, which is greatly appreciated since the taxis charge between 90 to 100 U$ for one way trip.

We're planning to go back to St Lucia and although we're not sure yet where we'll go and what we'll do next time, there's no question where we'll stay. Belle Kaye IS our home away from home!

And Eroy, many thanks again for making our stay in St Lucia just pure fun. You are a great part of making it so memorable.

Belle Kaye is a little hard to find at first but once you've found it you cant miss it! It is very secure feeling and very quiet. The view from both levels overlooks Rodney Bay; the pool is small but we always had it to ourselves. The proprietor (Eroy) is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet and was extremely accommodating at all requests. He is also extremely knowledgeable about the area which is helpful for those who havent traveled as far north as Cap Estate yet. The rooms were very clean when we arrived and all furniture in perfect condition. Overall loved my stay there only changes I would have made was catching taxis or buses can be difficult and there isn't any restaurants /markets within walking distance. Would definitely return :)

It was an excellent, clean & quaint little cottage with a great location. Within a quiet residential area but not too far from the beach, restaurants and other attractions. The owner was very friendly and attentive to all of our needs. We had a pleasant stay and would definately come back.

I recently stayed in Belle Kaye for weekend on short notice, And I was really surprised. For a budget rental the apartments are clean nicely furnished and only a 10 min walk from town, but the best thing about this place is Eroy, the owner, nothing was too much trouble he gave me lifts showed me around and was keen to ensure that my stay was as good as possible. Top marks

Recently came back from St Lucia were we stayed at Bella Kaye for the second time. What a fantastic holiday we had. Eroy and his wife Mary the owners of the property were excellent. Eroy fetched us and took us back to the airport as well as taking us on some great trips around the island. We were made very welcome like one of the family. I would highly recommend Belle Kaye for a great holiday; The apartments were kept very clean and tidy could not fault anything. We are hoping to go back again next year.
