It was 1.5 hour drive to go and same time back however the place is beautiful, tour guides were very entertaining and the mud bath is a must. Gotta revisit Saint Lucia!!!!

we hired a car and found our way easily from Vieux Fort to the drive in volcano. The roads on the west side of the island however are not for the faint hearted nor those who suffer motion sickness. You can tell that you are approaching the attraction due to the strong sulphur smell. Parking is available and once we purchased our tickets we were allocated a guide to our car and continued to the top of the hill where we parked. The guide was very informative and worth pay a little extra for this.
Glad we did this visit and an education for our family. There are a few vendors who do try to put a bit of pressure to buying their wares. The Mud bath at the entrance requires separate payment.

We visited this drive-in volcano as part of a tour of St. Lucia with Hugo Private Tours. It is neat to see, but does require some walking. The day we were there was very hot and the smell was pretty strong at times. It was very neat to see boiling water coming out of the ground, and people were taking mud baths in the warm springs. Great as a part of a day tour, but I wouldn't travel all the way to St. Lucia just to see it.

We took the Volcano tour as part of a land and sea tour from our hresort. We had AWESOME tour guides (and of course I forget the operation's name.) A must to do at the volcano is to get in the water!! It is smelly yes, and extremely hot, but after having rubbed hot wet mud all over ourselves, it felt fabulous... it absolutely felt like a natural spa, made my skin feel fantastic. I will visit every time I go to the island.
