Owner description: Situated in the highland community of Chassin in Dauphin, Rainforest Adventures St. Lucia offers visitors a unique opportunity for full immersion in the island's vibrant rainforest life. Guests can choose to amble along different things to do in St. Lucia, such as eavesdropping on nature's conversations along the nature trail, soaring up and away through the forest canopy on gondolas, or thrill-seeking on a zip line, gliding from platform to platform, high on the stoic trunks of the ancient sentries of the forest.

We had a trip on the aerial tram through the rain forest canopy on St Lucia. As soon as we arrived we were taken to meet our guide, she explained what would happen and then we were lined up to be put onto the tram, they place you so that it is balanced but keep you in couples etc.

Once we were settled we started off, our guide was a lovely girl who got us all interacting with both the rain forest and each other, the ride is slow and stable and you can take lots of pictures.

Despite the heat of St Lucia it is cool on the tram so don't worry that you'll be exposed to the glaring sun.

The ride is about an hour and when its finished you can also go on a 20 minute walk if you want to, i enjoyed this but it is very hot and humid so take some water if you do it, my husband wished he hadnt done it so its each to their own really. At the end of the walk is a Humming Bird garden and we also got to nibble on some local fruit we were allowed to pick.

There was a complimentary rum or fruit punch in the cafe and you could buy a photo of yourselves on the tram for 15 US dollars in the gift shop if you wanted to.

I really enjoyed this as a way of seeing an important area of St Lucia.

The zip wires looked fantastic if thats more your thing :-)

We did the Jacquot Trail and while it was hard work in places - the humidity didn't help the steepness - it was interesting and exciting to go through the rainforest. The guide was great; not only did you learn about the flowers, plants and trees but also a decent amount about the role they played in the history of the island.

Make sure you pop into the hummingbird garden at the bottom for some great hummingbird spotting.

My wife and I decided to give this tour a go and weren't disappointed. We didn't take the "daring" course, but opted for a tad more sedate zipline adventure. LOL.

My wife, who is usually afraid of heights, had a BLAST (as did I).

Definitely give this a try.

We booked a trip here via a 3rd party but the transport and guide was all provided by rainforest adventures. There were 3 options, a "sky tram" a zip wire and a walking trail, of which we did the walk. It was about 3 hours long, up quite a steep path in hot humid rainforest but on a well maintained trail and with plenty of rest stops. The guide provided a small bottle of water but I highly recommend taking a large bottle of water each as well. The guide was very knowledgable and we learnt lots about the forest, although it was a lot more focused on plants than animals of which we did not see many.
