Owner description: A spectacular landmark of St. Lucia visible for miles, Petit Piton and Gros Piton are twin volcanic spires majestically soaring out of the sea with waves crashing around their bases.

We took a tour with Cosol Tours, and it was the best excursion we've done thus far! You get the best bang for your buck, they pick your group up right at the the cruise ship's pier and have you back in plenty of time. Very dependable, very legitimate company and you see SO much! The driver was great, so much fun! There were several stops along the tour, along with swimming near the base of the Pitons at the end before we headed back to the ship; we went snorkeling there. I recommend this tour to anyone traveling to St Lucia!

Took a day trip to the absolutely gorgeous Pitons. Definietly worth the trip down there. Don't even think about climbing them unless you're an expereinced climber and have the gear. Total different to the mountians in the rockies.

Absolutely gorgeous. Definietly worth the trip down there. However, many people go down there thinking they are going to hike to the top, but don't even think about it unless you're an expereinced climber and have the gear.

This was a great excursion. We took a boat from the cruise docks out of the Pitons. It was a really pretty ride and we were able to sit on the top part of the boat for maximum view. The Pitons are gorgeous and a must-see. The snorkeling there was great. Granted, it was a little small and roped off. But the ropes are for safety of the snorkelers due to the boats coming in the same area. The boats are unable to stay docked, so be sure to take everything you need with you (which our tour guides did tell us beforehand, contrary to other reviews). The resort there is gorgeous and they don't mind you taking a look around. They also have beach chairs, fresh water showers, and bathrooms for you to use which was nice. On the way back they served a good amount of rum punch. The crew was young and a lot of fun.

THE VIEW WAS GREAT>>>PICTURES AND SOME VIDEO attached

What a great feeling to climb something so memorable like the gros piton. The hike itself it difficult...it took my girlfriend and i just under 2 hours to get to the top with stops at each quarter, and carrying a backpack with approx 5 L of water. If you are not physically fit you can still do this hike, you'll just really feel it after.

The first half of the hike is the easiest part. its a hike of pure rocks...which as you can imagine gives the knees a beating so wear good shoes. The second half of the hike is the hardest part, partially because you are already tired but more-so because you are climbing steeper angles and uses roots and branches as your steps. The downhill IMO was harder then going up, it hurt the knees a lot more compared to the uphill which was more the thighs.

**TIP - Bring water, snacks, and even lunch to enjoy at the top and get some energy back...WATER WATER WATER, no pop or junk food you'll hate yourself (those little bags of cereal they give out in the morning at the resorts are amazing light snacks)

All in all cost us 140/pp and then another 10 bucks tip for our guide Jason who was amazing. (fearless kid on his blackberry bbm'ing the whole time while he was climbing)
