I thought this was the highlight of the northern part of St. Lucia. There were quiet beaches to swim and rough beaches to watch the waves. A little hiking, a restaurant. I really liked it!

If you can, set out a few hours or a whole day for Pigeon Island. My husband and I were married on one of the private beaches with 16 guests. The following day, a bunch of us did a resort-sponsored tour of the island. I only wish we had longer to be there! The island itself is beautiful and the price to get in is cheap. You can walk around, have picnics, snorkel (some of the best in the whole area!), take amazing pictures (the best of our 9-day stay on St. Lucia), and eat at the restaurants (Jambe de bois or the pub). You can either visit the island alone for a romantic get away, visit with a tour, or, as we did, have your wedding!

Really enjoyed walking here and the views from the top of the hill are fantastic. Also good wildlife but its a pity they dont have guided walks.

The information and interpretaion is all a bit dated and the staff seem to have locked themselves away in their office!

This historically important island is fantastic as a relatively easy "dual-climb" adventure. The guide-free climbing is not set by any pace setter but your own heart beat. But what a view! And digital photography now makes it easier than all the times I've lugged up a bag of lenses and a chunky SLR. But even that was do-able and worthwhile. I've been up there at least 10 times since '88. The island of Martinique to the north can be clearly seen and most of St. Lucia's many western bays including Rodney Bay, the town of Gros Islet and its own Pitons can be seen arching far to the south. Old cannons, tombstones and canteens built for and by Admiral Rodney's crew are still laying around for our observation. The Park is well maintained. It is most excellent and so economical too. When at the north end of St. Lucia this site is not to be missed. .

We were on a cruise and stopped at St. Lucia our 2nd day. We did a sea kayaking trip to Pigeon Island and then hiked to the top of the fort, and it was one of our favorite island excursions. The kayaking was the perfect length, we did not feel exhausted afterwards, had lunch on Pigeon Island and then had plenty of time to explore the island. What a beautiful spot - from the top you could see to other islands in the Caribean and both the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic. The one panoramic we had framed is from this spot.
Highly recommend!
