Owner description: IGY Rodney Bay Marina is so much more than a Marina! Located close to many of the island's hotels, it's a place to meet friends, chill out and enjoy the many world class amenities on site. At Rodney Bay Marina, it's all about what you're in the mood for! Fancy sushi while you look at the sailboats? Or a great local lunch with a view of the megayachts? How about icy cold beer and cocktails on our waterfront deck with its bars, cafes and friendly buzz of patrons? Perhaps you're yearning for a luxury spa treatment with a bird's eye view of Rodney Bay lagoon, or even a quick mani-pedi. Whatever your idea of the perfect R&R, Rodney Bay Marina is a great destination to slow down, take a moment and enjoy the maritime vibe. So whether you arrive in St Lucia by boat or by plane, make sure to visit Rodney Bay Marina, where the sunsets are spectacular and there's something for every taste!

I have been to St Lucia four times now as my parents were born there. This was the first time my husband had been to the Caribbean, and we did more touristy things that I am used to, such as eating out more than than at relatives' homes.

We rented an apartment in Gros Islet where I have stayed before and spent quite a bit of time in Rodney Bay Marina, as well as in the Village over the water.

There is alot of expansion underway to enable the marina to accommodate larger boats, and I do hope that they also add more bars and restaurants as well. On the Gros Islet side the best places are Cafe Ole for breakfast/lunch, and Scuttlebutts for anytime. I would not recommend Bosun's as the seafood chowder I had there on our first night was atrocious! Apart from these venues there is not much else apart from the banks and mini mart.

Overall our experience was good, but am sure once the improvements are complete the marina will be more like the one at Marigot Bay (beautiful!)

my boyfriend and i were on a royal caribbean cruise that stopped at st lucia for the day. we rented a car at the information center. The information center recommended that we go to rodney bay. we stopped at rodney bay marina which advertises itself as being safe and secure, and while we were eating lunch, our car was broken into. in the 45 minutes that we were in the restaurant, all our belongings were gone. At 1pm, in broad daylight none of the security guards saw this happen...or at least thats what they told us.i dont understand how in a gated marina this could happen without anyone noticing.

The Marina facilities were excellent. We stayed on our sailboat, recuperating from a long voyage. It was also the destination port for the great ARC trip. So lots of other yacht owners were in the marina, doing boat repairs, enjoying the excellent weather, etc. Customs was slow processing but the restaurants made up for it. They were inexpensive and prompt. My main gripe was with TJ's Car Rental, a tenant at the marina. They overcharged us for two extra days of car rental we didn't receive. When we contacted them they recognized their mistake and agreed to rectify it through their bank. It never happened and my wife and I were forced to cancel our credit card after we got home and discovered that TJ's error still showed on our bank card. Be sure you get it in writing when dealing with TJs and insist on a receipt when you turn the car back in. Don't leave the car at the airport unless one of their representatives actually signs for it and provides you a written bank card slip showing the actual days it was rented. Other than that bleak experience, Rodney Bay Marina was a wnderful place to stay. Lowell K Halverson
