We made a day trip here from a cruise. Have to say it was our least favorite day of 6 ports. Highest priced chairs and umbrellas of any place we went. My sister-in-law and I both bought a necklace hoping to stave off the relentless vendors. We paid $20 each, then found the same necklaces at the duty free area just off the ship for $8 each. Oh well, chalk it up to a contribution to the local economy. If only it had done the trick and helped keep the others away. Even when we said we had already made purchases we had persistently annoying vendors. If you don't keep the bottom of your lounge chair full they will just sit down and settle in.Bathroom is available if you make a purchase at Spinnakers.

Of the five beaches we have visited during our cruise, this one was the least enjoyable: it was just OK. Too many people (including those playing loud music next to us), vendors constantly trying to sell you stuff. Next time, if there is one, we will go elsewhere.

You can enjoy Reduit beach with the tourists or with the locals. It is quite crowded at the main beach spot by Spinakers but if you go left to the very end, you will find a little spot of heaven. The beach is just as nice but less crowded (and almost no vendors). You can find some shade from the trees and then there is Marie's Beach bar. Cold beer, very good rum punch and the best spice rum we found on the island awaits. Marie's also has good food.

You will also find Come See Jah boat tours. Levi owns the boat and is willing to take you out on any kind of tour you want. Around Pigeon Island, a water taxi to Castries or the Wind Jammer resort or even a day trip down to see the Pitons (we did it and it was well worth it - the island is beautiful from the sea).

We visited here on 31 December from a Cruise Ship visit. We felt we were ripped off at every opportunity. From the overpriced Taxi fare to the rental of a sunbed and parasol. Also Beach Vendors were very annoying. The beach itself is nice and the water great. It was just a pity that the other stuff ruined what should have been an enjoyable day.

St. Lucia's most popular beach. Lounge chairs are available for rental. Also good for watersports. They have jet skis, catamarans, paddle boats, kayaks. Great beach for swimming. Not too many waves. People are friendly. If you just want to relax, wad to the south end and you will not be hassled. We saw a couple getting married at Bay Garden resort and it looked like they were having a good time.

Taxi fares from the cruise ship are standard.
