“Great concept!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012 via mobile

We liked our dinner at Le Bistroy. The food was great and the concept is awesome, if you have time, stop by their wine cellar to shop a little bit, its very impressive! I had the Foie gras as an appetizer and it was a big portion, at least compared to what im use to in North America. It was very good as well. They serve your meal on a slate tile which is very original i thought!
The only thing we didnt like was the smell outside of the restaurant, there is a little pond there and it smells like swamp...and the waitress was ok, she just looked disinterested but she wasnt terrible. I recommend it!

“More excellence from Jean-Baptiste, et al.”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

Our favorite chef/wine expert on the island has (thankfully) begun yet another endeavor--a restaurant--and we love it! While his food in our villa was always a wonderful experience, dining at his restaurant rivals it. While we hated the idea of "sharing" him, the atmosphere of this place--combined with fabulous food and exposure to wines we would not have picked on our own--make it a great experience.

“Simple but great!”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

A wine bar which seems to do a lot of wine related activities, although we were the only guests the night we were there. Still, that meant we could enjoy our plates of Corsican (boar) sausage and fish rillette - both portions being tapas for 2 or 3 or 4! We didn't starve and enjoyed a couple of glasses of good and reasonably priced wine. Not a great location but well worth a visit. A lot better than other places we went!

“Cosy, authentic and delicious”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

If you are looking for authentic french food and an excellent choice of wine, this is the place. The meals are original and tasty, and there is a gourmet grocery shop but one goes there especially for the wine cellar and the expertise of Jean-Baptiste and Marion, the wine steward. Very welcoming, a cosy atmosphere and far from expensive.

“Nice for Tapas”
Reviewed April 28, 2012

My husband chose this for our last night based on reviews and as a last minute dinner without reservations on a Sunday. The service was very good and we had no problem getting a table, as there were only a few guests dining. Prices of wine by the glass were extremely reasonable starting at $6.00. We ordered 3 tapas for dinner. They were very good but for the price, I would have been more satisfied with an entree. What I really enjoyed was the music. They had three musicians playing lovely music and that made it special.
I think this would be a good lunch choice especially since you can walk to it from St. Jean beach!
