“Walk in and your in Italy”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

It may be a French Island but when you walk through the doors of L'Isola your in Italy. I recently traveled to Italy last year and this restaurant on a French island rates among the best Italian restaurants that I experienced. The staff is entirely Italian. The menu has very unique and traditional Italian cuisine. I had the ravioli in creamy porcini sauce. The pasta was so fresh that it must of been made just hours before our meal. The only drawback to the restaurant is that it gets very noisy and crowded after 8pm and it difficult to carry on a serious conversation at your table.

“Great Italian Food in a French Enclave”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

We love almost all the restaurants of St. Bart's. but we always eat our first dinner at L'isola in downtown Gustovia. Great setting, friendly waiters and great Italian food. In particular last night, the calamari special was fresh and delish. The wild boar bolognese over fetticini may be the best I have ever had. Wine list works.

“Much improved”
Reviewed February 8, 2014 via mobile

We shared a wonderful spaghetti with lobster to begin and followed with the probably best and definitely the largest dish of veal Milanese, easily sufficient for two. We thought the food was better than ever, but service still can be brusque. Prices are high and we advise you query the price of specials before you invest. During our stay we returned to L'Isola and ordered exactly the same two dishes.

“Mixed feelings ...”
Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

We had mixed feelings about L'Isola. Some of the food was great (fettuccini with ribs, eggplant parmigiana), some not so good (gnocchi); service was good, but a bit brusque; prices in the stratosphere; a bit noisy; tables close together.
