The proprietor of our hotel suggested L'Entracte on the night of our arrival. We drove to Gustavia and found parking across the street! The gods seemed to be with us. The place was mobbed. We believe we must have had the lady table available (make reservations). Jean-Phillipe, out hotel proprietor, raved about the pizza. It smelled so good cooking I really wanted to try it. Then I read the menu and faced a dilemma. They had steak tartare! Steak tartare is about my favorite dish and it's seldom on US restaurant menus. My wife solved the dilemma - order a pizza as a started and mains for dinner. We placed our order and the waitress suggested that we were ordering a lot of food. We asked if we'd be able to take half the pizza home for lunch the next day and she said she could accommodate us. In sum, the pizza was great, the food was great, the service was great, and, despite the noisy hectic crowd, the ambience was appropriate for this Brasserie experience.
