“A Moderate Disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2011

The Yellow Submarine offers an underwater view of sealife, rocks, and a shipwreck at the mouth of Gustavia Harbor. The Yellow Submarine is a yellow boat, but it is not a submarine. It has two decks, one deck above the waterline, and a second deck below the waterline. The underwater deck has windows that enable customers to view scenery in the water and on the floor of the outer harbor. The viewing area is somewhat cramped, but tolerable. Viewing opportunities are quite limited and do not favorably compare with other local islands.
Our trip was quite a disappointment. Although the advertisements stated that the narrator would give both French and English explanations of underwater life, our trip had mainly French speaking customers and absolutely no attempt was made to give any explanations in English. Apparently the narrator realized her error after the trip, said she was sorry, and offered us a second trip. We did not accept her offer - it was not worth the ordeal.

I went on the sub trip with my 8 year old daughter in August 2011, It was great ,the owners of the sub sat right with us and pointed out all kinds of fish, sea turtles, and nurse sharks very cool. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

“Explore underwater without getting wet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2010

Franck and Marion, the owners of the Yellow Submarine, are the perfect tour guides. As former owners of the island's largest dive company, they know the Marine Reserve Park surrounding the island better than anyone. Join them for a one-hour ride on the semi-submersible ship as it tours around Gustavia Harbor within the Marine Reserve.

Because the water is not deep, you can see the bottom of the ocean and watch as sting rays, barracuda, sea turtles, sharks and all kinds of beautiful colored fish swim by. Marion pilots the ship while Franck points out all of the undersea wonders. Look for the shipwreck. You might even see the captain who went down with his ship!!

Whether visiting for the day from a cruise ship or staying for a week on the island, this is an excellent activity for the entire family, especially young children and seniors.
