I had the set menu at euro 29. My wife went a la carte. I started with the tuna tartare. Another disappointment, very few places now seem to be able to season this dish properly it was billed as having ginger and soy and both were virtually non existent. My wife had the croque de Jules supposed to made with homemade bread and have ham off the bone. The bread did not seen very home made and the ham was tasteless. The presentation was not good and it looked most unappetising. Next my wife had the blanquette de veau a classic French dish but rather disappointing. I had local fish with mashed (purée) potatoes. The mash was very good, the fish average. Dessert was tarte tatin. This was pretty good although not cooked to order. The ice cream with it was good. We came here last year and it was much better. The bill came and was over by 35euros through a combination of errors. Apologies and all that but exactly the same thing happened last year. Probably never go back.

Hoped for a better dining experience. Nothing special. Everything was perfectly fine--but had higher expectations. We have ben coming to SB for many years. Wall House and Pipiri Palace are the ones we keep going back to.

Longstanding Le Mesais has been updated and reopened by same owner.
Pleasant spot under a roof for windy or wet eves.
Menu is interesting and well prepared.
The Daily Menu is one of the bets deals on St Bart's.
For those of us who stay in St Jean do L'Orient this is a great local spot.

Very good food & excellent service. Authenic French cooking- some things right our of grandma's recipe box. The tuna tartre was delicious! We visited twice during our vacation. Finished the meal off with some complimentary vanilla rum.

After the closure of the Masaai, which we liked, as it was cool, nice food, nice service, simple nothing extraordinary, but so was the price, which is nice for a break, we were looking forward what would be in its place. As to understand that some great chefs and owners are involved, we went on a Friday evening, with high expectations and with some friends. The service was lousy, all attention was to one of the island's bloggers who owns a property company, with a big table, and though the restaurant was full, and a lot of staff around, service was quite 'French' ( J'arrive, j'arrive). I had a duck, which was Ok, but the looking like sauerkraut with it was as tasteless as ugly, so was the desert, this one really looked nice, but had no taste at all and the starter of fish soup was from the local Super U, I would guess. My guests had all a kind of Pot au Feu of fish and all found it to also be tasteless, apart from one, who found a piece of Morue in it and was happy with that. It has a nice sounding choice menu, but the food, even the second time, a week later, when we tried it, again, was quite deceiving.
